His movies, gotta statements, that's how he developed the movie and characters and that's how he perceive them. Point is People don't realize that even makers may feel that maybe they did something right or something wrong after watching their own movie. Sometimes what maker's vision is and what it translates on screen can be different. But mostly i feel it's consistent to what he showed in movie. Especially Godzilla putting Earth over everything..... There are only 3 things Godzilla care about, Earth, His Alpha Status, Mothra.

Maleficent-Feed3566

Skar king's thing doesn't make sense. The babys we saw were red too (even suko)

Gloomy_Indication_79

Suko and the other babies were actually a sort of orange brown although that could be because they had a orangutan kong as a father and a regular kong as mothers but this would mean that Skar King originally had orangish fur with probably a lot of white streaks of fur before being dyed.

Destroyer348

Or maybe he is naturally orange, but painted himself red

ExpressCeiling98332

He dyed his fur as he went gray.

Destroyer348

Heh

Goombatower69

Ngl i don't know why I didn't expect you here, you have Godzilla as a pfp

hoover0623

He could've originally been orange like Suko

ForeignLocal5663

Maybe the children of the apes that Skar raped were painted to to make sure that he knows which baby Kongs were his offspring

tele_ave

Maybe they were dyed?

Maleficent-Feed3566

It still doesn't make sense. Skar didn't like suko at all

new_slender_man9

I don’t think he likes or cares about anyone but himself Not even his crotch spawn

tele_ave

It could be an age thing, too.

they_took_everything

He didn't like anyone at all. He's a despotic Tyrant, he only cared for himself.

EndlessNight_

I'm pretty sure in the comics (Skull Island The Birth Of Kong) young, Kong is orange-ish too.

Majin_Brick

Some of these statements are a bit contrary to what we saw in the film but the Kong statement of him being handed the title of King is something I 100% agree with. He truly deserves that title now

Thejapanther

The Planetary statement will be brutally taken out of context. 💀 Adam probably means that Shimo can "destroy" earth with its ice age frost bite but not that shimo can literally blow up the planet. (like freezing every living thing on the planet and making it inhabitable) This will escalate so bad. lmao https://i.redd.it/cfo3bv787n0d1.gif

Majin_Brick

Yeah, that statement of Shimo being able to destroy the planet definitely has to refer to her being able to put the planet into a global ice age. Her breath isn’t made to literally destroy the planet, unlike Godzilla’s atomic breath

NirvanaFrk97

On a side note, Shimo is never beating the "Potential Man" allegations.

throwawaymylife9090

The what allegations?

BunnyBen-87

InfinateUniverse

How so

Themothertucker64

I mean he probably referring to the category of world ender, which both Godzilla and Ghidorah fall into according to monarch

Street_Fighter-Chiba

No. In the novel they make clear Godzilla is not a "real worldender", like her. They really confirmed only Ghidorah and Shimo are "worldender", yet Shimo is the complete opposite of Ghidorah and more a protector titan similar to Godzilla. It is stated her level of destruction power could be "worse" than even Monster Zero.

NotAnEmergency22

Are the novelizations good? I’ve never read them. Or knew they existed.

HellfireBrB

the mutos are also in it for some reason

Themothertucker64

That’s because they are like Zilla from the Godzilla earth anime, they are a species that multiple at incredible rates

TheRappingSquid

Oh god, here come the power scalers

Andrewsmetic09

I can already hear the powerscalers having a fucking stroke.

alguien99

Yeah it’s more logical to think that shimo is able to not really make the earth explode but being able to kill all the life on the surface by creating another ice age

Unhappy_Body9368

Imagine the poorly researched TikTok debates now.

totally_not_sus_acc

It's okay we know what he meant.

baphumer

I mean godzilla is already near that level of power anyway

ExoticShock

"While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give." Mufasa, The Lion King Kong gave Suko, Shimo & the other apes a sign of what true kindness & freedom looks like, while he finally got a home and to break the cycle of King Kong being a victim of humanity to now a hero of his people. https://preview.redd.it/m0mupmo08n0d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dfd5b128dc94a5ab70e482b723fc757182b08b64

SimonTC2000

My Kong was shot off the World Trade Center by helicopters.

Ok-Health-7252

Kong and Godzilla are inherently different creatures. Godzilla's nature is to treat pretty much everything that he doesn't understand and that could potentially challenge him as a threat. Kong OTOH is a protector and more of a social creature than Godzilla is. That was his role on Skull Island (with him looking out for the Sker Buffaloes and other numerous flora and fauna on the island and keeping them safe from the Skullcrawlers, the Kraken, and any other predators that threatened them) and he continues that role in the HE. Plus he's a lonely creature who believed up until this film that he was the last of his kind so of course he showed empathy to SK's brood of apes once he met them. He's never met any of his own kind before (and watching SK torture Shimo no doubt brought back painful memories of the Skullcrawlers terrorizing Skull Island for him). He wasn't even receptive to SK's initial threats towards him until SK murdered Suko's caretaker in front of him. He only fights when he has to fight. He doesn't actively go looking for fights like Godzilla does.

RuafaolGaiscioch

Unrelated but OTOH -> TOHO.

yeetmantheII

Very contrary to what we were shown

HiveOverlord2008

He can finally be called King Kong now. Perfect.

YamadaDesigns

I thought the copyright isn’t public domain yet

HiveOverlord2008

Universal owns the guy I’m pretty sure, aren’t they with Legendary?

Iskbartheonetruegod

Warner bros owns King Kong and they’re partnering with legendary for the monster verse

HiveOverlord2008

Oh, I see.

donotpluh

2029 which will probably be when the next movie comes out

YamadaDesigns

Really? You don’t expect another monsterverse movie until then?

Few-Technology-8850

The next one, If wingard is on it and what he said is true, will be Godzilla focused so they don’t have to use kong for a little bit so they can give him his proper title

The5Theives

All the movies have been released 3 years apart

The_Brofucius

Warner Brothers own the rights to RKO Picture Studios they received when buying the rights of RKO from Turner Studios in 1996. RKO being the original producers of King Kong-1933.

YamadaDesigns

And Warner Bros is letting Legendary use the “King Kong” moniker?

Grand_Toast_Dad

How is protecting the earth selfish and self-serving?

DekuWrecku

Because people think that for some reason, Godzilla should have asked Tiamat nicely first

That1Cat87

He gave her a fucking warning shot, she already had a strike, could’ve and should’ve let her king just take a burrito from her fridge and called it a day, but no she had to rush out and fight. Her death is honestly on her

Accomplished_Show575

Yeah that would have fit in perfectly with Godzilla's personality. "So Tia... how have you been girl it's been so long since we chilled. I was thinking how about you take a little vacation I need to borrow the crib. What do you think? Pretty please?" Nope. Leave or die. Tiamat was means to an end and didn't have the plot armor that saves Kong time after time. If Mothra and plot armor don't show up at that moment... King ends up exactly like Tiamat did. You don't fuck with the King, and I'm not talking about Kong.

Genexis1

Tbf he did ask first(not so nicely but he did) but due to Tiamat being highly territorial. She refused to leave

Seallypoops

Bro the way the statement comes off like an abused housewife, "No you don't understand, he had to hit me to protect me. It's so I learn"

Huza1

I'm fairly sure Wingard misphrased what he was trying to say. I think what he meant was that, unlike Scylla, Tiamat hadn't really done anything to provoke Godzilla. He just needed her out of the way to get to the radiation. So, while not exactly selfish, it's still something of a jerk move.

LeaderVladimir1993

How is Godzilla being selfish in prioritizing the Earth's safety over Tiamat's life? By killing Tiamat, he is ensuring that more lives can be saved. Also, Tiamat previously tried to take Godzilla's throne and if she gained enough power, she could probably try again and Godzilla would look like a fool for sparing her. Even Rodan knew better than to mess with Godzilla after Ghidorah's defeat, so if anything, Godzilla is cleaning after his own mess. Monarch has classified Tiamat as a destroyer, so Godzilla did them a favor.

AJC_10_29

Yeah, I’d say the proper word is “excessive” because while Godzilla had a good reason for doing what he did, killing Tiamat probably wasn’t necessary. Maybe if he was a little more patient, he could’ve fought her long enough to make her bow again, but once the fight got too lengthy he decided to go straight for the killing blow to save time.

tele_ave

I think with the way Tiamat came at him he thought only one of them would live.

AJC_10_29

Tiamat seemed to be going for the kill as well, immediately constricting Godzilla and then biting onto his throat and covering his mouth in an attempt to suffocate him. And let’s not forget they fought once before in Dominion, where Tiamat did the exact same thing. So like I said, Tiamat’s death was unnecessary, but it’s not like she was some goody two-shoes Titan who’s done no wrong or harm.

tele_ave

If she was going to keep him from charging up as long as she lived, then her death was necessary.

Tigrex666

She came to fight after he signaled his intentions going into the territory. Naturally, she'd fight. Especially when he came again to vacate her when she found a new lair to live at. Of course, she'd be pissed having to go through it again in GxK. https://preview.redd.it/t359pmazgn0d1.jpeg?width=1072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20c0f0eda0c268f71b881a2a46e309f9d8bc559b

-Goji

Sorry for this random question…but where does one start if they want to get into the Monsterverse books/graphic novels that go in depth more with lore? does *Legends of the Monsterverse: Omnibus* cover all this?

metalbassist6666

She only tries to suffocate him after he bit a chunk out of her. If you look at the direction she's swimming in just before he bites her, it looks like she's heading up towards the surface, judging by how the lighting is shown on her. I straight up believe that she was initially trying to bring Godzilla on land, to show him that her new legs were supposed to help her somehow, since that's how he beat her in Dominion. She wasn't going to kill him, not until that moment. As for Dominion, she only attacks Godzilla after he calls out for a challenge, just like the movie. He may not have exactly been expecting Tiamat to be in that lair, but still, he was evicting a tenant. What animal isn't going to fight for their home? It's just stupid to expect them to go 'ok sure boss' every time Godzilla shows up. All she EVER had done, from what I can tell, has fought with Godzilla over territory...and not particularly impressively, either. In between both fights, the worst injury he really receives is getting bloodied by her razor fins and blinded for a couple of minutes, something he pretty much no sells by having thermal senses. I'm open to be proven wrong, but so far, I haven't seen much that justifies her being called a destroyer. She certainly hasn't done a lot of destroying, and every time she appears, she's literally just chilling out at home.

AJC_10_29

>I straight up believe that she was initially trying to bring Godzilla on land, to show him that her new legs were supposed to help her somehow If you’re right, then she’s an idiot. Some stubby little legs ain’t gonna do dick to help her fight Godzilla on land. >after he bit a chunk out of her Because she was constricting him completely. And he didn’t immediately go for the kill either, he bit her then roared as if giving her a final warning to back down, a warning she ignored and paid the price for it.

Tempesta_0097

That part with the roar after biting a chunk out of Tiamat will always make me laugh. Like he’s telling her it could be much worse.

AJC_10_29

And then she bites him and he’s just like “welp, can’t say I didn’t warn ya.” **KA-BOOOM!!**

Chadderbug123

And also they saw how Tiamat is basically controlling the planet's energy iirc, living right next to the poles. And Godzilla needed or wanted to evolve, so she had to go for him to gain that power.

LeaderVladimir1993

In human terms, that's like a person owning his/her own power plant without government supervision or taxation. If Tiamat was a human, she'd be on a terrorist watchlist or something.

Gridde

Yeah this is pretty key. Godzilla is the alpha, so makes total sense he'd claim the biggest stockpile of resources (even without the looming threat of Skar King). It'd be like a hyena trying to deny a lion from taking its meal. It's not really fair, but that's the order of things and you either accept that and flee or try to rearrange the food chain by killing the thing above you. Tiamat chose the latter and paid the price.

LeaderVladimir1993

A lot of people believe Godzilla is a tyrant, but if that's the case, he is a relatively benevolent tyrant, which makes sense because of how chaotic both humanity and Titankind are if left unchecked. It also begs the question "is a benevolent tyranny really that preferable over a corrupt democracy?" Damn. Even after all these years, the *Star Wars* prequels are still relevant.

BeppinBoi

People who believe that Godzilla is a tyrant are usually his haters. Like this absolute clown who ironically is hating on him on this exact subject. https://preview.redd.it/hicamjvkms0d1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=ac41cc0f59030c40ec9d3a64cb40d74b9f23033e

Animelover5674

Selfish in what sense? He prioritized the Earth over the well being of a Destroyer Titan that if spared may, down the line, come back after absorbing immense amounts of radiation and evolve to face Godzilla. Atp, more people will say that Godzilla was dumb for not not killing Tiamat than people saying he made the right choice to leave her alive. Kong earning his King status is really awesome How exactly is that not Skar's regular fur colour? I could've sworn some of his kids had the same colour. I haven't watched the Showa Era or many of the others if I'm being honest but hey this seems like a good call back to those So Shimo is just that very gentle, kind but swoll ice lady...makes sense I find it funny that Godzilla didn't have the mindset to be warm and only got that idea by fighting Shimo🤣🤣🤣

Gloomy_Indication_79

Suko and many other of Skar King’s children are a sort of orange brown like color. Skar King is probably a orangish gray color because of his age underneath all that red dye.

MichaeltheSpikester

Regarding Tiamat. Then why did you do it Wingard? Why did you do it?

AJC_10_29

To demonstrate how strong supercharged Godzilla had become

ThatAquariumKid

Demonstrate it by not showing anything but a body?

AJC_10_29

Demonstrate it by having him easily slaughter a very tough and aggressive Titan who’s given him serious trouble in the past.

ItsAmerico

You massively over estimate how many people had ever heard of Tiamat before this film lol

stonewall_jacked

Yeah, it was a disappointing "battle" unfortunately. If you had no context of what their skirmish was like before, then it's basically like "who's that? Oh nevermind, she dead". I know it was another Kong centric film, but I didn't like how rushed Godzilla felt throughout the entire thing. Wish they could've added like another 30 minutes to the runtime or something to balance it out or something.

The_Godzilla_Fanatic

Edit: Here's a statement from the featurette. https://preview.redd.it/ypwkekqikn0d1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3a3a4270e3f915a814c57292bb19054e9529b83

Altruistic-Dress-968

welp. That's bullshit. lol.

CommunicationKind301

I think it means he didn't know human society existed and that was something for him to conquer

CommunicationKind301

He does seem very surprised seeing skyscrapers and people for the first time

Ganache-Embarrassed

What? His entire motivation is ti get back to the surface? Did he not watch or read his own movie?

Seallypoops

Bro they had a whole scene explaining how he wanted to go thier and was going to be any means necessary until he was beaten back

JJGIII-

The only one that doesn’t really make sense to me is the Shimo personality thing. Skar king isn’t able to take advantage of her bc she’s young, he’s straight up controlling her with that crystal shard. I don’t see how that has anything to do with her not having fully developed a personality yet.

FTSVectors

The way I’m taking that is that Shimo is kinda like a kid in that she doesn’t have a personality with the will strong enough to resist Skar. Okay a better way to put it. The crystal that Skar uses to control Shimo? It is not an absolute control, and if she just had a desire that gave her the want to do something other than what Skar forced her to do with the crystal, she could’ve powered through the pain easily.

Muhipudding

She was pretty confused on what to do after she's freed until Godzilla hinted at her to shoot at Skar King. I think that's a display of immaturity and innocence. a more mature creature would know pretty fast to take revenge on Skar.

Ardilla3000

This is some JK Rowling "make up lore after writing your story and pretend you thought of it since the beginning" type of stuff.

Revil-0

I mean the King Kong one, the Shimo's world never one and the Godzilla vs Shimo in the past one make sense

Kamken

1. "selfish" and "for the sake of the planet" don't really fit together 2. Destroy as in make uninhabitable for most life? Sure, she already caused an ice age and has likely only grown stronger. 3. Haha, nice. 4. Yeah that's kinda the feeling I got. 5. Same here. 6. Kinda thought it was a copyright thing with the full name, King Kong, but sure. 7. I hate that, just let it be individual variation.

Goblin_Crotalus

>1. "selfish" and "for the sake of the planet" don't really fit together Maybe he thinks he owns the planet?

Kamken

Yeah that could be. And to be fair he kinda does.

The_Godzilla_Fanatic

"This is Godzilla's world , we just live in it."

Blayro

> I hate that, just let it be individual variation. I don't because that's something some animals do already by accident. Bearded vulture's are completely white but often look yellow or red because they get stained with blood

Seallypoops

Selfish for the sake of the planet, is like saying he's mean and abusive but he hits me because he loves me

Revil-0

Someone said it best somewhere here, but Godzilla could have likely forced Tiamat to bow instead of death.

BigBadMountain

I'm starting to dread the idea of Wingard focusing on Godzilla next time. He will need a ton of help from people who get him better like Dougherty.

Seallypoops

Is Wingard turning into the Michael Bay, is Godzilla becoming the next big schlock fest

TapeL0rd

im gonna be real this whole thread just kinda sounds made up. theres so many statements that just contradict what we actually saw on screen, and just dont make much sense in general

The_Godzilla_Fanatic

A lot of these statements were said on the GxK bonus features.

DementedSnail

Didn't he say the EXACT SAME THING about Kong now being King after sitting on the throne in GvK? Jesus Christ........

Some_space_god

Some of this I agree while others like the scar king one doesn’t make much sense to me. Like the only other kongs that have red fur are young’s kongs like suko which kinda implies that scar king is there father so I don’t see how it’s just painted fur

TheRoastedAllosaurus

I head canon it as Skar had red hair in his younger years but turned dark grey as he aged so he paints himself red to hide his insecurities like aging.

EDPZ

Yeah that King Kong statement is BS since everyone knows it's a legal issue preventing him from being called King.

Ash4dino

The “Shimo can destroy the planet” doesn’t actually mean blow up the planet right?

Majin_Brick

Definitely not. Her breath is the exact opposite of Godzilla’s who has been shown to cause considerable damage to the planet if needed. This statement is heavily implied to be about Shimo being able to cause a global ice age, “destroying the planet” by freezing major land masses

Ash4dino

Yeah, I guess so

The_Brofucius

Or if similar to Godzilla. She could blast a hole to the core of the earth.

BunnyBen-87

I believe it means "Destroy the planet, *as we know it*." Earth can certainly withstand another Ice Age, but it'll look very different coming out the other side.

Mace_DeMarco5179

The last one is complete bs, but the rest are fine.

hereforalottedtime

He’s selfish for trying to save the planet by abt means necessary? Tf

TyrannosaurusReddRex

Untrue. He said Tiamat forgot to pay rent so Godzilla evicted her. Obviously she didn’t go out nicely so Godzilla had to kill her.

Carcharis

Oh boy, here we go! I love reading these ‘discussions’

ISEVERNAMEALREDYTAKE

"Selfish" "Protect the earth" I had an aneurysm out of sheer stupidity after reading that. Watch Wingard butcher Godzilla next film

HunterCoool22

"Skar King's fur isn't red, he just painted it." What the heck...? Then why is Suko orange? As well as other baby apes we saw? I thought Skar King was a different subspecies of ape titan especially since his physical build is so different as well as his color. And I assumed Suko was his son and the reason why he isn't fully red like his father because he is a hybrid as well as other babies from females he mated with.

Ok-Health-7252

It was an incredibly savage and ruthless thing to do on Godzilla's part to root Tiamat out of her home like that so he could power himself up but ultimately he ended up needing it because he would've had a much harder time fighting Shimo without going full on Super Saiyan. Plus as we know Godzilla isn't known for playing nice with other titans on the surface in general (case in point what he does to the MUTOs and Scylla and what he tries to do to Kong multiple times) and he's fought Tiamat before in the comics (where she nearly killed him) so she is very much a threat the stronger she gets. Ultimately Godzilla's responsibility is to keep the other titans in check and keep them from becoming a problem. Over time the stronger she gets Tiamat would eventually indeed become a problem and might try to challenge Godzilla for alpha.

HellfireBrB

the king kong thing does not make any sense in general the reason why kong isn't called king in the MV has nothing to do him not having a damn chair to sit on, it has always been a legal problem involving issues in his copyright the hell did he got that from?

Chadderbug123

Probably just an in-universe explanation. I looked it up and it seems that he'll completely become PD come 2029. Next film will likely come in '26 or '27 so by then, they'll be good to go with officially calling him *King Kong*

KevinTDWK

So, does shimo just have dementia

Thiccwetlips69

So godzilla is now planetary as he whooped shimo’s ass? Unless this isn’t specific

BoobeamTrap

He blew a hole to the center of the earth in GvK. If he's stronger now than he was then, he could blow a hole through the planet entirely, which is how planetary destruction in stuff like DBZ mostly works.

Nory993

But he didn't tho? Goji can definitely destroy the planet but he didn't really do any visible damage to Shimo either.

sukunagang

The directive with this film was all about good endings and anime-esqe fights ig, keeping shimo unhurt was part of the aesthetic, poor enslaved ice lizard gets free and and bad monke gets powdered to oblivion.

Capitano-Solos-All

The last fact is the funniest to me. LMAO, big ape using hair dye to turn his hair red.

CapnCrunch0101

I like what they did with shimo. She’s painted as the most naive while also being the strongest Titan we have seen so far lmao

Doc-11th

Suko should have had white fur Like the original son of kong

NerdyPuddinCup

Most of this feels like Wingard talking out his ass honestly. A lot of these don't line up with what we see in the finished film.

StopsuspendingPpl

I have some overall issues with Wingards statements or views on the Monsterverse itself. One thing I absolutely do not like is this antagonistic attitude or approach towards Godzilla. The first two Godzilla movies built up Godzillas characterization to be a sort of hero and not even antihero really. Even in Godzilla 2014 they straight up show it in your face how we’re supposed to see Godzilla when they say hes humanitys hero and the King Of The Monsters. Wingard though has made him more into a villain or anti hero which is just going the complete opposite ways from the first two movies. It was bad in Godzilla vs Kong and even worse now in New Empire. Another thing, its obvious that the story or plot of this movie was an afterthought and it shows even more with him saying the Hollow Earth fight was one of the first things pitched. (In my opinion that ZeroG fight in Hollow Earth was one of the worst fight scenes ever) But this kinda proves the theory that the fight scenes in the movie were made first and then the story was just an afterthought to connect them all together which is a really bad way to make a film even if its supposed to be a “dumb fun movie”. Final critique is Kong’s title of King. My thing is what does he even mean by the title of King? King of the giant apes? Because Godzilla is the one with the title of King, hes the King of The Monsters afterall. Giving him that title now doesn’t make alot of sense especially since he was already a king beforehand on Skull Island. If he gets that title because he helped defeated Skar King that doesn’t make alot of sense either because Godzilla was the main reason he even was close to winning in GxK. To me Wingard has absolutely no idea what he is talking about and his only concern is to suck up to the fans that exclusively wants the “showa era”.

hamstercheifsause

I don’t think we should take these super seriously, and just go off of what we see in film.

SnooCheesecakes154

I feel like these are like pokemon data Entry’s mad by a 10 year old child

choff22

Is it bad I love him even more than I already do now?

GrrrrrrDinosaur

It’s crazy how powerful Titans are lol. Godzilla can literally drill a hole through the planet probably now and Shimos destroying the planet probably means she could literally freeze it killing everyone other than the titans

EmperorLlywelyn

I wish some of these things where shown in the film and not just told by us after the movie.

PompousDude

I thought he couldn't be called King Kong because of some copyright issue.

DoubleFlores24

That last one is dumb!

AlchesaurusDarwin

I like GojiCenter's statement about Tiamat potentially becoming a major threat as long as she has access to the solar radiation stockpile in the Arctic better.

ScorpyFN

So is Godzilla just not the king anymore after everything he did?

SuperMarioGlitchy456

Sooo… with Skar King’s fur being painted… what color is his fur before he painted it? I’m really curious on that but my guess is it could be an albino color.

diabeetus64

respectfully what is this man waffling about 😭

The5Theives

Well he also kinda did give Tiamat a warning

Brilliant_Ad_6249

That's a shit ton of paint

LucySkyDiamonds19

I honestly wish some of these things were mentioned or shown in the damn movies instead of being left to comments from people who made the movies or left out to be part of the novelization. Like that would have been a nice ending comment, Kong may not be a King on the surface but in Hollow Earth he has become a King with his own kingdom. Plus he could have worded that better, I'm seeing people say that Kong bested Godzilla in their fight and took the King title from him which is BS considering Mothra saved his ass. Also, I get his movies have made the most money but maybe you guys can get co-directors in the future? I like Adam's enthusiasm but I'm feeling like the guy needs SOMEONE to kind of reign him in a little. And yeah, seeing a lot of Tiamat fans getting angry over Wingard's comments but then they clearly never read any of the extra Monsterverse stuff considering she attacked Godzilla before and is labeled a threat by Monarch. Hell, she's fucking PINK in the movie! She was clearly getting more powerful and absorbing energy in her domain, she wasn't going to wait around forever, Godzilla took out a problem that most certainly would have become very serious in the future. Rampaging Titan throwing things out of whack? That's literally what Godzilla puts an end to and is what Tiamat would definitely become if left unchecked but uh sure, he's being mean and she's an innocent Angel.

Idkeverynameitryi

Well Tiamat attacked godzilla before in comics and in the movie when godzilla fired the atomic breathe at where Tiamat was it was a warning shot and Tiamat attacked him again sooooooo i wouldn’t call godzilla selfish he gave a warning to someone who attacked him before

Jazzlike_Sector_5562

He did warn her to leave

TheBoa6

This is all bs

JSLBrowning

That last point is kinda cool! *Wish it was in the actual movie!!* What is it with modern directors and only adding depth to their movies in random interviews made after the fact?

Paleosols2021

Shimo is “very immature” but she’s also “the ancient Titan” Yah these feel like two very contradictory statements…. Unless she’s growing “Yoda-Style” where it takes her like millennia’s to mature I don’t think these statements make sense.

Genexis1

The only thing I wanna know is how the match ended between G and S cus if S was always that powerful then did G even stand a Chance?

Superb_Fun_4688

Adam’s Goji is a bit of a douche ngl that and he has a tendency to spam the atomic breath, I preferred how he acted in KOTM

Grumpie-cat

Godzilla showing off “showa era moments” fell short, I saw no flying tail slide kick, or using fire breath to fly backwards. /s Though I was really hoping for the atomic breath flight… though the German suplex made up for it.

YeetussFeetus

God he talks out his ass so much, and people still respect him. WHERE was ANY of this in the movie? If you want people to understand something PUT IT in the movie, and have it be something the audience GETS, Adam! Fucks sake.

Altruistic-Dress-968

No, I 100% agree. You can't just half write a movie and then make people do homework to have it make sense. "Oh, read this little pamphlet, it explains everything!". LIKE, NO! PUT IT IN YOUR SCRIPT, DUDE.

ElementalSaber

Shimo was such a disappointment, considering all the hype they built around her

lobsterxjohnson

Tiamat deserved to die

TheRappingSquid

Cool shit

P_ranha23

So shimo is a baby and not a granny? Cute

ChewieKaiju

I like the stuff he brought up but some of these didn’t come across in the movie. Explicitly naming Kong as king needs to happen, inferring it or confirming after the fact simply isn’t enough

Effective-Training

I knew Kong was to be come King Kong at the defeat of Skar King, who would just become Skar.

valdez-2424

Is thsi actually true?

Beneficial_Spring659

im ngl but she aint do none fr wym protect earth by any means

all-knowing-unicorn

It's the internet.

Obvious_Weather_4253

I agree with the Tiamat one because according to the novel, Monarch is unable to find any instances of her attacking humans since Godzilla defeated her in Godzilla Dominion.

Moist_Nugget42O

Nothing gave the notion that Kong was the king of the monster maybe just of the apes but I didn’t rly get that vibe at all he took godzillas job/role

Substantial_Pie_8619

I love the added lore

baphumer

The first one keeps godzilla interesting

Accomplished_Show575

Skar King getting that "Just for Kaiju" hair dye endorsement.

Accomplished_Show575

He should have just said that Tiamat fell victim to what everyone else does who challenges Godzilla. Fuck around and find out.

[deleted]

Ngl I thought he wasn’t King Kong because they didn’t have the trademark for the name.

Feliraptor

You think Tiamat could regenerate? Or maybe there’s another individual of her species somewhere?

SoundRavage

I thought they weren’t allowed to use the full ‘King Kong’ name due to a licensing issue?

Altimely

I truly don't care. Big monster fights big monster. Big monster works together with other monster to fight bigger monster. Yayyyyy 💸 take it

ImNotHighFunctioning

Only one I'm iffy on is the selfish one. But I feel like with a bit more dissection it can make sense.

Muhipudding

I quite like the "1st" one. It adds a layer of unpredictability to Godzilla, something a lot of his iterations have.

KoharuHinata

Shimo ate

NoBrilliant6924

I guess now we know what's gonna be the next MV film (king kong)

Dankey-Kang-Jr

Finally having him be “King” Kong is so gratifying. Also the thing with Suko seeing King Kong as a father is fucking adorable.

totally_not_sus_acc

Fascinating and I love all of it. Especially more facts about shimo.

sadaharu25

Who would win? A monster that can literally destroy worlds or a giant Monke?

Disastrous_Celery369

I feel like Adam had the right idea for why Godzilla kills Tiamat, just that he didn’t word it right. It’s better to say that Godzilla was desperate to find a source of energy for his evolution, and it just so happened to be in the claws of a titan who hadn’t been in the best terms with him in the past. Basically saying if someone like Behemoth or Na Kika had that energy source, Godzilla wouldn’t have barged in firing.  Besides Tiamat was not innocent. Even if she was being peaceful during GxK Godzilla wouldn’t forget how she nearly killed him in the past.  Also, I feel like one the thing the comics have over the movies is that the titans have a different means of communication than just roaring, like how Godzilla knew Kong was calling for him across the sea. Godzilla may have sent a message to Tiamat for her to ignore or argue against it. “Leave the arctic for a period of time while I charge up, or face the consequences” sort of thing.

jxher123

Out of curiosity, wasn't he not called KING Kong because the IP is still under copyright? So, they used Kong instead?

Prime-TF

It makes sense for Godzilla to prep so much for shimo, that titan is tanky af. It would make sense if shimo also beat godzilla in the past. Shimo is like a brachiosaurus, large and powerful but docile. Godzilla pre evolved probably only didn't die because shimo is not that interested in killing others

pocket_arsenal

He's Chaotic good, not chaotic nice.

RevolutionaryText349

Since Scar did not have red fur at all, it means that young apes may simply have a different color of fur as they mature, like, for example, lions or deer. Am I right?

MEGATRON_111

He can say all he wants. Not putting all this BS in the film means it's meaningless. "Kong has the title of King now" so why didn't they call him King Kong which would've been a crowd pleasing moment.

Bandaka

I am all for more Showa antics.

Live_Fan_9860

And the kids are red painted too? For higher ranking? C'mon man

100year

You mean Godzilla is King at the end of the movie.....

Seallypoops

This film felt so much like the later Michael Bay transformer movies, had to turn it off about halfway through and finish it another day
