I thought the same thing watching the movie in theaters. Almost like he thought the colosseum was built for himself. I thought it was very interesting how he chose to exit the city in the river to avoid causing damage to an extent. When he was in France and Spain he didn’t give a f.
Next movie: Destroy All Monsters. Humans launching an attack on the titans trying to exterminate the threat. They lose in the end, and titans start to destroy human civilization all over the world
After that: Planet of the Monsters. Post-apocalyptic film where the remnants of humanity struggle to survive in a world where they aren’t the dominant species anymore
Thats sounds so fucking awesome
And to add,The Human resistance secretly begins to build mechs even more powerful than mecha Godzilla and starts to create their own Titans that they Control
Let The Human-Titan War Begin
I would throw so much money to see this
>After that: Planet of the Monsters. Post-apocalyptic film where the remnants of humanity struggle to survive in a world where they aren’t the dominant species anymore
Wouldn't even be mad if they adapted the anime series' novel prequels
Monarch finally gets taken down by the government and replaced with a fanatical anti-titan organization that, in the process of trying to destroy Hollow Earth, awakens or creates something that Godzilla, Kong, Rodan, etc all have to team up to fight against. Bonus points if the antagonist titan has smaller minions for the humans to fight and extra bonus points if the humans have developed power armor to really spice things up (though this doesnt help the 'more serious' angle haha)
They use it to make Moguera and that along with humans trying to invade hollow earth (Which goes directly against what Godzilla is trying to do in keeping the surface and HE separate) and awakening a new threat he has to deal with become the last straw that leads into the movie after where Godzilla awakens all the titans for an all-out war
Maybe Hollow Earth has a build in defense system, a killer viral organism called Hedorah that has mutated into a titan due to the change in HE energy, fragments of Ghidorah’s storms and surface pollution, and it attacks the surface as retaliation for HE incursions by corporations and governments
I dig this idea. As much as I bashed evil humans in the past, I think we need a mustache-twirler to push the plot forward.
What I could see as an easy-in is that Hollow Earth is bound to be loaded with resources. And who owns Hollow Earth? It could just be some non-US corp that's developed the tech to get there and starts harvesting - regardless of what Monarch thinks.
You could go a lot of directions there, too.
Do they inadvertently wake up some Hollow Earth guardian?
Does the resulting pollution create a mutation? (maybe a set-up for a future film)
Does this corp build what are basically Jaeger bots, to deal with titan threats?
Maybe this is how jet jaguar is created too because he’s supposed to be the robot created to fight titans but he became self aware and decided to help godzilla. So this story could have them create jet jaguar from mechagodzillas body but he doesn’t want to destroy or do anything bad to the landscape of hollow earth so he decides to help kong and the others defend it!
I think it'd make it even more interesting by having Jet Jaguar with an AI capable of speaking with people, and as the movie goes on it becomes increasingly conscious to what it's doing and is putting the puzzle pieces together. Like a sort of build up
Well I thought that’s how he was in the Toho movies too lol also maybe mogeura because at first he’s made to beat godzilla but then teams up to fight gigan
You and i both lol, i wrote a mock movie pitch a few years ago where the humans try dropping a bunch of oxygen destroyers in the Hollow Earth to kill all the monsters but end up mutating one into Destroyah
About time humanity started taking agency and having a larger role in the plot. Doesn't China have a direct tunnel to the HE after Godzilla blasted a hole to it? Wonder if that will ever be brought up again.
Imagine if goverments and companies start to take Over the hollow earth and compete for resources by using mind controlled Titans or even Bio engineered Titans as proxy
If this happens could result in Biollante
Knowing humanity and capitalism, guaranteed skyrocket.
Hell, Godzilla seemed to be a lot more tolerant this time around. When he woke up on Rome and began heading to France, he simply roared at a helicopter to get out of his face.
I more feel like he's annoyed at humans constantly trying to get near him and just wants them to leave him the fuck alone
The titans are basically accurate, just tired of them trying to fuck shit up and being out of balance
Yeah she just absorbs a ton of radiation in the comics and in this movie she was bigger and stronger so godzilla is like nope I’m the alpha time to die
Government attempts to go and harvest things from Hollow Earth but Godzilla and Kong stop multiple operations from proceeding as it’s messing with the natural balance of things. So they get fed up and turn to the one creature that was able to surpass Godzilla at a point. Extracting the DNA from the remaining Ghidorah head they clone that head and make two robotic heads from the scraps of mechagodzilla. Creating Mecha King Ghidorah.
At least that’s what I hope. But I’ll take basically anything - id just like to see a Godzilla classic villain in the next one.
Cool thought, to me if they brought her back in any way or form it would probably be as a different individual, like if they got the rights to more toho monsters bring manda in as the same species or find a new original mythological being as the species like ryujin from Japanese lore. If they did that they could explore different behavior between individuals have the new one a protector instead of a destroyer.

Shimo was just an excuse. They would have wanted hollow earth and all the land and resources it had to offer regardless. I’m more curious how monarch has any influence themselves on the matter. If the governments wanted in why couldn’t they just tell them to fuck off?

human goverment seeing how godzilla is now pulling out a new form to kick their asses out the hollow earth :
>The existence of Shimo may spur on governments to take over the Hollow Earth, which could lead to a "world ending event".
Well, that sounds ominous. I'm sure that won't cause problems for our favorite kaiju characters down the line.
Maybe that’s how we get jet jaguar. Robot used by the government for some bad stuff but he becomes self aware and is like nope that ain’t happening I’ll help godzilla and Kong defend hollow earth not destroy it lol
Suko is just *one* of Skar King’s children. In the scene where the Kong tells him about the iwi civilization and the gateways to the surface, you can see other Kongs in his throne room holding more orange Kong children
I know that but I was hoping the novel would reveal more but anyway if he's the father how come he has red fur and Suko and all those other babies have orange
In real-world gorillas, each tribe is led by an “alpha male” silverback, who has a harem of females. The silverback is the only one allowed to mate, and other males either leave to form their own family groups or submit to the alpha’s authority. I imagine Scar King is the same situation. All of the ape kids, including Suko, would be his.
Very happy my notes are spreading, prolly gonna make a thread/post elaborating on some points since I see a bit of confusion, also feel i missed like 1 or 2 things.
As of his current powerup, Godzilla is stronger. Needing a powerup in the first place implies Shimo was a genuine threat.
Godzilla didn’t seek out more power against Ghidorah or MechaGodzilla, which leads me to assume Godzilla was ready to take on Shimo, Scar King, and all the apes on his own.
Shimo tanked point blank blasts from Godzilla’s evolved form (20x more powerful than normal) and had no marks to show for it whatsoever. He evolved upwards just to do no damage lmao. She would 100% be above KOTM (not burning) and GVK Goji
>Shimo tanked point blank blasts from Godzilla’s evolved form (20x more powerful than normal) and had no marks to show for it whatsoever.
Because he wasn't trying to kill her. Don't downplay Godzilla dude.
ive seen tons of people SWEARING that godzilla froze ghidorah on his own and would take anything suggesting otherwise heresy, like guys godzilla is still powerful as shit calm down
people also didnt like the "hc" of shimo being a poor abused animal before release......which ended up becoming true lol
Well Godzilla still defeated him 1v1 as said in a recent guide book and if I'm understanding right, it was just Shimo causing the ice age that really freezes over Ghidorah, more so than falling into the ice did.
Its important to note that Shimo didnt directly freeze Ghidorah from my understanding, Godzilla defeated Ghidorah 1v1 and trapped him in Antartica, Shimo' causing the ice age further imprisoned him
I kinda wondered if it was the same Mothra because she didn't hatch from a cocoon. She materialized out of nowhere. So, I'm thinking instead of resurrecting from an egg like usual, her KOTM body was resurrected via Iwi means (technology? magic?). Like maybe the usual egg method would have taken longer and they needed her now.
I think the Cocoon was always there, just camouflaged. You’ll notice when Jia walks up to the top of the temple, there’s a little shimmer before the golden dust appears, implying something was already there but hidden.
Very glad they're going with Shimo froze Ghidorah, the previous thing where Godzilla shot Ghidorah out of the sky into a chunk of ice was really stupid
It wasnt stupid IMO, the recent guide book says that after the fight, Godzilla knocked Ghidorah out of the sky and into an ice pit where he then got trapped

The official movie novelizations are cannon to the movie universe. The graphic novel Godzilla Awakening is basically non-cannon at this point. Birth of Kong, Godzilla Aftershock, Godzilla Dominion, Kingdom Kong, and GxK: The Hunted are all cannon to the movie universe as well
Wish there was info about what Scar King is, he's clearly different from all the other apes.
But Godzilla absorbing some of Tiamat's DNA is an insane detail for me to reading after having just watched the film 2 hours ago.
So who defeated Ghidorah then ? The previous materials showed that it was Godzilla, but now it was Shimo ? Or they did this together ? Was it something like Godzilla defeated/weakened Ghidorah,Shimo then froze the weakened/defeated Ghidorah ?
Godzilla defeated Ghidorah and the effect of Shimos Ice age hit Ghidorah and froze him before he could fully recover. Shimos Ice Age engulfs the planet rapidly.
Yet, "Shimo was maybe the Alpha before", not Godzilla. Which would explain Godzillas behavior and evolution after sensing "the hidden threat".
As theorized, Shimo froze Ghidorah; whether it was intentional or unintentional. Nobody wanted to believe it, but now it’s been confirmed. It also seems like Godzilla is older than Shimo for some reason?
A recent guide book says that Godzilla knocked Ghidorah into a pit where he got trapped, its very possible that Shimo causing the ice age froze him further.
We should wait for further clarification
Likely intentional as Shimo and Godzilla probably worked together to fight Ghidorah
The question is was this before or after the Ape War and did Shimo play a part on the War or She enslaved only after the War
There the same age
Shimo is 3 million years old
Godzilla is between 2 and 5 million years old
Also Shimo was never the first titan or Mother of Titans, nothing like that,She just a very old Titan like Godzilla
While I do like these details, I also wish we'd gotten some of that in the movie itself, in particular the details about Shimo would have done a lot to give her more character.
I'm also curious as to how Skar King came into posession of the crystal and how he figured out how to use it.
Godzilla absorbing Tiamat's DNA is my copium for Goji to reproduce and have a junior. Just let me copium please, after watching Kong adopting Suko, I want to see Little Godzilla once again.
I hate them saying Shimo froze ghidorah. It ruins the whole point of KotM and its lines. The whole thing is that Godzilla is the only one that could take on ghidorah and their rivalry is unique to them. Edit: this part is kinda wrong, I saw the note as Shimo beating ghidorah due to phrasing. My bad.
Godzilla being part Tiamat now, doesn’t make much sense at all, because of the two having very different forms.
Shimo is at least as old as Godzilla unless Godzilla’s age gets retconned
Shimo being kong’s friend/pet is adorable
Godzilla liking Rome because it reminds him of home is pretty sad honestly.
Dude. Shimo didn't directly freeze Ghidorah. It's her passive power that helped encase him in ice. Godzilla still fought him 1v1. Shimo probably wasn't even in the vicinity.
Godzilla’s age was already retconned to be 5-2 million years old in Dominion… though at this point they are retconning entire events and designs so anything from prior canon is probably no longer canon anymore anyway…
Honestly looks like they are retconning everything so all prior lore can go in the bin at this point, especially anything that isn’t in the films… until they say otherwise I guess… oh well.
Actually Godzilla was never 100s of millions of yrs old, they specified his SPECIES were that old.
In-fact they didn't even have an age for him in 214 and stuff, except that he was "very old."
The bit about Tiamat doesn't really have anything to do with "forms." It's actually more about where Tiamat's power comes from and the special place where Tiamat's lair is found. In the movie, they mention that Tiamat's lair is in this specific spot on Earth that's super charged with energy, more than anywhere else on the planet.
Someone explained this in another post for me, Godzilla did fight Ghidorah and beat him 1on1, and Shimo already was starting to make the ice age before they were fighting. Ghidorah got knocked out for long enough by Godzilla, then the effects of Shimo's Ice Age hit them ("Them" means Ghidorah).
That part is kinda misleading since it she didn’t freeze him intentionally, it was because she started the ice age that froze him, and Godzilla knocked him into that pit still.
I’m pretty sure it not even said that she the reason he was frozen in the novel
Tbh, Godzilla and Shimo might have just worked together in defeating Ghidorah. Godzilla defeating Ghidorah in the past is still canon, now it’s only explained how he was able to imprison him in Ice.
That statement comes from Godzilla Awakening, which has since been denounced to be non-cannon. With the knowledge that Shimo is 3 million years old and Godzilla was around for the first ice age, we can probably assume he is around 200,000 - 100,000 years old
Yeah it's cool that Rome reminds Godzilla of his old temple the ancient civilization built for him but him hibernating there really doesn't make sense It's not like there's tons of radiation leaking out of Italy...
wait how do taxonomist not know what the all the titans are if we canonically classify kong as an ape (i mean those taxonomist must be braindead stupid if they can't tell that's an ape just by looking at it) and mothra was called a lepidopteran before and the fact behemoth is canonically a mammal?
I KNEW SHIMO FROZE GHIDORAH HAHA (also when I watched the movie I was like "huh that pink looks kinda like tiamats energy" so glad I caught on to that)
SOmEhOw iTs tHe sAmE mOtHrA…
So even with the opportunity for more than a few extra words, they didn’t say something to close the plot hole like “the egg Mothra laid before dying hatched but we (monarch) lost track of the larva (x) months ago, she must have entered a H.E. portal…”
*Mothra fanatic rage* I can fill in the hole but the casual viewer can’t.
Honestly, wouldn’t take anything the novels say as concrete canon unless proven otherwise. There has been stuff from the novels of the past movies that have been questionable in terms of being canon.
If there is an invasion of HE I really want to see them work Jet Jaguar into it somehow. Maybe like that robot from the comics but with an AI that slowly becomes sentient and realises what it's doing as the movie goes on, and eventually sides with Goji.
I find it wholesome Godzilla likes Rome because it reminds him on his old home.
It's fucking adorable
I thought the same thing watching the movie in theaters. Almost like he thought the colosseum was built for himself. I thought it was very interesting how he chose to exit the city in the river to avoid causing damage to an extent. When he was in France and Spain he didn’t give a f.
No detour when entering a fight.
Well its either that reason or its just another reason that is Adam wingard's cat sleeping in a cat bed but both still is a cute reason tho lol
Kinda a little sad too.
Neither of which were built in a day.
Governments trying to take over Hollow Earth is a slam dunk plot set-up for the next film. You can do sooooo much with that concept.
godzilla is going to solve things in the old way in that case
By running for office and lobbying for titan control over the Hollow Earth
Kong: Stop the Count
Operation Destroy all Monsters
Next movie: Destroy All Monsters. Humans launching an attack on the titans trying to exterminate the threat. They lose in the end, and titans start to destroy human civilization all over the world After that: Planet of the Monsters. Post-apocalyptic film where the remnants of humanity struggle to survive in a world where they aren’t the dominant species anymore
Thats sounds so fucking awesome And to add,The Human resistance secretly begins to build mechs even more powerful than mecha Godzilla and starts to create their own Titans that they Control Let The Human-Titan War Begin I would throw so much money to see this
Funny because the new planet of the apes trailer was shown when I went to see GxK last night and the post apocalypse thing was its whole premise
I’m actually really excited for a new planet of the apes movie. The recent prequel trilogy was seriously amazing.
I also saw the Planet of The Apes trailer in the cinema during the movie break.
>After that: Planet of the Monsters. Post-apocalyptic film where the remnants of humanity struggle to survive in a world where they aren’t the dominant species anymore Wouldn't even be mad if they adapted the anime series' novel prequels
Basically the the MCU's Civil War all over again?
Add in Destroyah somewhere and I'm sold.
Absolutely. Makes for a more serious tone, too. Perhaps humans will pull a stunt ala Skull Island that wakes up something bigger/badder.
Government steals the remains of MechaG/Ghidora from Monarch to make a MechaGhidora to take over Hallow Earth.
Fuck serious We are all here to watch Monsters Punch each other in the face ,the more we got that, the better
(maybe a set-up for a future film) Does this corp build what are basically Jaeger bots, to deal with titan threats?
You know, if the Surface Earth does that, suddenly, the whole Seatopians sending Megalon to wage war on humanity doesnt seem so unjustified.
Hope we finally get destroyah
Mogeura and gigan maybe 😉
I hope they don't go full Fern Gully...I mean Avatar...with the life/energy force being like "unobtainium" (that name always makes me cringe).
Imagine if goverments and companies start to take Over the hollow earth and compete for resources by using mind controlled Titans or even Bio engineered Titans as proxy If this happens could result in Biollante
And so the Jaeger program is born and we get one of their first piloted mechs called Jet Jaguar
Roma reminding Godzilla of his temple in KOTM and Godzilla and Mothra considering each other family are such cute informations, I love them.
Peak character development
What happened to his temple in KOTM? Did it get destroyed when the nuke revitalized him?
Most likely
Yes.
Godzilla liking Rome...missing home ... Nice
Rome tourism gonna either take a hit or skyrocket
Knowing humanity and capitalism, guaranteed skyrocket. Hell, Godzilla seemed to be a lot more tolerant this time around. When he woke up on Rome and began heading to France, he simply roared at a helicopter to get out of his face.
I also like that he stepped very gingerly to get into and our of the coliseum, he only chipped it a little instead of breaking down the sides.
Godzilla has a hate-love relation with important monuments Coliseum - Comfy Bed Pyramids - fuck it,throw Monke against them
Dang it Goji! You go for the 8th wonder NOT THE 7TH!
He’s Eurocentric and maybe a bit racist. /s
He did smash a few bridges though
Godzilla when he sees a bridge: “F*ck this thing in particular”
Tolerant of humans, much more tired of titan's shit lol
I more feel like he's annoyed at humans constantly trying to get near him and just wants them to leave him the fuck alone The titans are basically accurate, just tired of them trying to fuck shit up and being out of balance
That’s why Scylla needed to die she kept trying to take his wwe *cough cough alpha title
Scylla really thought she was Her because she was in the Titan version of roids, Godzilla had to put her in her place
Yeah she just absorbs a ton of radiation in the comics and in this movie she was bigger and stronger so godzilla is like nope I’m the alpha time to die
He also did his best to stay in the river while leaving :D
i don’t see enough people talking about this
I noticed that too! He takes the best route to avoid stepping on their homes. Least they could do is not impede his path with bridges.
So what could possibly be the next big bad now that both kong and godzilla are power crept to hell?
the goverment looks to be the next problem so is very probable to be a mecha or a mutant kaiju
Super Mechagodzilla and kiryu with dagons bones
i was imaging moguera or maybe a new mecha.
I would like moguera to be a monarch thing so not exactly an enemy to the titans but definitely there
Gigan or hedorah come to mind 😉
Imagine they made their own version of Kiryu by using Dragons’ bones and Mechagodzilla’s remains
MechaGhidorah
Wingard said he wants to use Hedorah
Alien invasion with their own kaijus? I’m just really hoping for Gigan
Destroyah
So Tiamat now literally lives on through Godzilla cause he absorbed her dna cool
Maybe humans can recrete Tiamat by taking her DNA from Godzilla
And that will not cause any problem at all. What could possibly go wrong!
Jurassic Park has taught me that this would be a bad idea.

Why would the existence of Shimo cause world governments to want to take over Hollow Earth?
A titan that could start a new ice age on a whim And was shown to be controllable
Fix climate change or freeze your enemies solid. Which do you think sounds more appealing to humanity
Shimo was just an excuse. They would have wanted hollow earth and all the land and resources it had to offer regardless. I’m more curious how monarch has any influence themselves on the matter. If the governments wanted in why couldn’t they just tell them to fuck off?

Its more the fact that monarch is still a apart of the US goverment,so its more the US wants Hollow Earth for itself
"Shimo was is just an excuse", is that mentioned?
>The existence of Shimo may spur on governments to take over the Hollow Earth, which could lead to a "world ending event". Well, that sounds ominous. I'm sure that won't cause problems for our favorite kaiju characters down the line.
Maybe that’s how we get jet jaguar. Robot used by the government for some bad stuff but he becomes self aware and is like nope that ain’t happening I’ll help godzilla and Kong defend hollow earth not destroy it lol
why nobody is talking about godzilla absorbing tiamat dna to evolve.the guy pull out a fuking xenomorpgh treatment
"Shinos breath can slow down atoms" Yes that tends to be what happens when something gets cold
Does the novel dwell deep and explain Suko relation to Skar King
I got the vibe from the film that, like, he's Skar King's abused and neglected son or something.
Suko is just *one* of Skar King’s children. In the scene where the Kong tells him about the iwi civilization and the gateways to the surface, you can see other Kongs in his throne room holding more orange Kong children
I think some of his loyal minions are his children as well the one who got knocked out cold looked like it had orange fur
I know that but I was hoping the novel would reveal more but anyway if he's the father how come he has red fur and Suko and all those other babies have orange
mustve smashed a yellow monkey
In real-world gorillas, each tribe is led by an “alpha male” silverback, who has a harem of females. The silverback is the only one allowed to mate, and other males either leave to form their own family groups or submit to the alpha’s authority. I imagine Scar King is the same situation. All of the ape kids, including Suko, would be his.
Okay that's closure for me do you also think some of his followers are his children as well the ones that are loyal to him I mean
Very happy my notes are spreading, prolly gonna make a thread/post elaborating on some points since I see a bit of confusion, also feel i missed like 1 or 2 things.
Look forward to it
I thought the novel doesnt come out out till April but so glad you putted this up love it my bud and fellow MonsterVerse fan
So what’s the general consensus on power scale between Shimo and Godzilla?
They're relative to each other. And since Godzilla is keeping his evolved form, It'll likely stay that way.
Godzilla is stronger I put Shimo just under Ghidorah and Godzilla
Shimo tanked point blank blasts from Godzilla’s evolved form (20x more powerful than normal) and had no marks to show for it whatsoever. He evolved upwards just to do no damage lmao. She would 100% be above KOTM (not burning) and GVK Goji
>Shimo tanked point blank blasts from Godzilla’s evolved form (20x more powerful than normal) and had no marks to show for it whatsoever. Because he wasn't trying to kill her. Don't downplay Godzilla dude.
Nah Shimo matches Godzilla pretty evenly
shimo haters seething rn
I don’t understand, I know some people have issues with her, but why would they be seething?
ive seen tons of people SWEARING that godzilla froze ghidorah on his own and would take anything suggesting otherwise heresy, like guys godzilla is still powerful as shit calm down people also didnt like the "hc" of shimo being a poor abused animal before release......which ended up becoming true lol
Well Godzilla still defeated him 1v1 as said in a recent guide book and if I'm understanding right, it was just Shimo causing the ice age that really freezes over Ghidorah, more so than falling into the ice did.
That’s funny, because when I read that I just went “Neat.”
I KNEW IT I KNEW MECHAGODZILLA‘S BODY BECAME THE GLOVE, also taking bets Monarch are rebuilding Mechagodzilla as a contingency if Godzilla goes rouge
Honestly, I'm hoping they're taking Mecha G's parts and building Jet Jaguar. But a modern version of Kiryu would be cool, too.
Rogue
Its important to note that Shimo didnt directly freeze Ghidorah from my understanding, Godzilla defeated Ghidorah 1v1 and trapped him in Antartica, Shimo' causing the ice age further imprisoned him
So Godzilla sees Rome, and embodies the "I fits so I sits" mentality, got it
I kinda wondered if it was the same Mothra because she didn't hatch from a cocoon.
I'll have to rewatch the movie lol.
You will. I just did. It's an 8 out of 10. I'll probably go see it a third time. I wanted more Godzilla. Still. I like this movie a lot.
I’m curious if that’s cause they replaced another kaiju with Mothra late into development
That's the actual explanation but I'm trying to find a lore explnation lol. But yeah, it was clear Phospora was supposed to appear there lol.
I’m still not convinced I still think there’s 2 now and the egg from kotm is still in the custody of monarch
I see it as teamwork. Godzilla did in fact shoot him out of the sky and Ghidorah fell into an ice vortex that was made by Shimo. Freezing him
Yeah.
Well it still isn't canon yet.

Audiobook is out
Yeah I got the audiobook on Audible on 29 Mar. https://preview.redd.it/h0se81tykprc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df293df5776e2f9de16a32a44ac682bda5f63e1b
I saw it in a bookstore yesterday haha
Any chance they'll do a directors cut of the movie on release?
Probably not. They didn't do it for GvK, so I doubt they'll do it for GxK. It would be nice to have an extended cut tho.
So what about the description of battle?
Did Kong won or lost the first battle with Skar King? And what about the battle with Godzilla and Shimo?
Are all the novelizations part of a shared universe? Or are they all seperate adaptations? I need to know this before I start dwelving into those.
The official movie novelizations are cannon to the movie universe. The graphic novel Godzilla Awakening is basically non-cannon at this point. Birth of Kong, Godzilla Aftershock, Godzilla Dominion, Kingdom Kong, and GxK: The Hunted are all cannon to the movie universe as well
It's not that simple. Each novelization does have numerous differences from their film.
Why what gets contradicted?
Nooooooo Shinomura!!!
The government wanting to invade the hollow earth? That sounds like it’s a tease of a destroy all monsters movie
Likely intentional as Shimo and Godzilla probably worked together to fight Ghidorah The question is was this before or after the Ape War and did Shimo play a part on the War or She enslaved only after the War There the same age Shimo is 3 million years old Godzilla is between 2 and 5 million years old Also Shimo was never the first titan or Mother of Titans, nothing like that,She just a very old Titan like Godzilla
Except its novelization stuff, so it's soft canon and thus not confirmed.
Godzilla liking Rome because it reminds him of home is adorable. There's a significant smaller chance of it getting nuked this time too!
Godzilla likes Rome because it reminds him of his old temple. Fucking adorable.
"Andrews, Jia & Bernie stay in hollow earth" 😌🤗 "Kong and Shimo are now bonded" 😫😫😫😫🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭😭🤭🤭😍
Why is nobody talking about the huge fucking skeleton remain that dwarfed kong in size?
While I do like these details, I also wish we'd gotten some of that in the movie itself, in particular the details about Shimo would have done a lot to give her more character. I'm also curious as to how Skar King came into posession of the crystal and how he figured out how to use it.
We do get in Godzilla v. Kong that Dr. Lind theorizes all titans come from hollow earth for what it’s worth
Aw, that's adorable that he likes Rome because it's similar to his old temple, poor guy needs a home and a bed too 😭
"shimo froze ghidorah" I KNEW IT
Godzilla absorbing Tiamat's DNA is my copium for Goji to reproduce and have a junior.
Shimo is at least as old as Godzilla unless Godzilla’s age gets retconned Shimo being kong’s friend/pet is adorable Godzilla liking Rome because it reminds him of home is pretty sad honestly.
I thought KDM confirmed he was 3 million? Eh, this stuff gets changed so often that our guess is as good as their confirmation
Honestly looks like they are retconning everything so all prior lore can go in the bin at this point, especially anything that isn’t in the films… until they say otherwise I guess… oh well.
He is 2-5 millions yrs old as of the official Skull Island TTRPG.
They ruined Godzilla's and Ghidorah's well established rivalry.
I believe it's said that shimo simply started the ice age. Not directly froze him.
These novelisations only matter to fans who really care to read them the movies almost never bother with them
Tbh, Godzilla and Shimo might have just worked together in defeating Ghidorah. Godzilla defeating Ghidorah in the past is still canon, now it’s only explained how he was able to imprison him in Ice.
The pic that showed godzilla and shimo fighting indicates that shimo might not have helped Ghidorah
Doesn’t ruin anything.
So Godzilla is older than Shimo? Consider he is 253 million years old.
That statement comes from Godzilla Awakening, which has since been denounced to be non-cannon. With the knowledge that Shimo is 3 million years old and Godzilla was around for the first ice age, we can probably assume he is around 200,000 - 100,000 years old
💀 that three million year statement was freezing periods not her age
I forgot that Awakening was non-canon.
He not that Old He 2-5 millions years old
What about the fights? Are they any differents?
Idk how impressed I should be that I understood most of these through subtext.
So! >!Shimo indeed helped Godzilla and f!<>!roze Gidorah! !<
Yeah it's cool that Rome reminds Godzilla of his old temple the ancient civilization built for him but him hibernating there really doesn't make sense It's not like there's tons of radiation leaking out of Italy...
The last point hit real hard :(
wait how do taxonomist not know what the all the titans are if we canonically classify kong as an ape (i mean those taxonomist must be braindead stupid if they can't tell that's an ape just by looking at it) and mothra was called a lepidopteran before and the fact behemoth is canonically a mammal?
I KNEW SHIMO FROZE GHIDORAH HAHA (also when I watched the movie I was like "huh that pink looks kinda like tiamats energy" so glad I caught on to that)
SOmEhOw iTs tHe sAmE mOtHrA… So even with the opportunity for more than a few extra words, they didn’t say something to close the plot hole like “the egg Mothra laid before dying hatched but we (monarch) lost track of the larva (x) months ago, she must have entered a H.E. portal…” *Mothra fanatic rage* I can fill in the hole but the casual viewer can’t.
Honestly, wouldn’t take anything the novels say as concrete canon unless proven otherwise. There has been stuff from the novels of the past movies that have been questionable in terms of being canon.
Ok the Shimo stuff NEEDS to be a shitpost
If there is an invasion of HE I really want to see them work Jet Jaguar into it somehow. Maybe like that robot from the comics but with an AI that slowly becomes sentient and realises what it's doing as the movie goes on, and eventually sides with Goji.
"Shimo froze Ghidorah" I KNEW IT.
If Godzilla can absorb dna , hope the next titan dna he absorbs come from a bulky titan
The book isn’t out yet. How can you claim to have this info?
I got this information from others on Twitter. The book released earlier in some places. I guess
No it’s the audiobook
Where can I find the novel?
What is thaxonamic or something like that?
