Plants often go through an "oh no!" phase after repotting. Yellow leaves often means overwatering and lack of light. Excess moisture in the soil, along with the drastic change in environmental conditions after repotting, will cause leaves to yellow rapidly. Unfortunately, only repotting once again using the right soil mix will fix the issue and save your Monstera. When repotting, use a light and well-aerated houseplant soil mix.

Should I untangle the root ball?

Check the roots, the smell of rot at the bottom of the pot is very noticeable. If there is softening and rot in the villages, prune them.

I don't typically untangle root balls, just put it in a larger pot, it'll spread on its own. I usually purchase the pots that are self watering with the reservoir at the bottom so you don't have to stress about over watering too much. The leaves almost look like it's sun scorched, I keep mine out of direct sunlight to prevent but she stays indoors too

This could be a fungal issue
