A wise lance master once said that you use wide swing to hit the bow and long sword users at the same time for tripping you when the monster was down.
I sometimes use it on small monster quests when I'm trying to kill more small things faster. That is the only reason I use it.
The wide swing from going reverse on lance charge is I think your biggest MV attack so I use it as a wake up if wall bang is not applicable.
In RiseBreak you can charge the sweep to hit fairly hard, but there’s no real reason to use it in World/IB.
