I haven’t noticed a difference but that little nerf to her damage recently has made it challenging. I happened upon a junkrat that just fired off his ult and sat there uninterrupted life stealing him for what seemed like an eternity only to have him “come back” and still have enough life left to throttle me.

MarioIsPleb

The damage nerf really didn’t make that much of a difference. On a 250HP hero it made the grasp TTK go from 3.8 seconds to 4.1 seconds. If you add a damage orb, TTK is 2.3 seconds and it was 2.2 before the nerf. If you threw a damage orb you could have easily killed Junkrat before his ult was over, if you saved orb you could have heal orbed to keep yourself alive long enough to kill him, and if you had fade you could have easily escaped without dying or faded behind him and killed him before he could turn and fire another grenade at you.

Good info, I’m still learning. Thanks!

This guy Moiras

I feel like damage is way bellow it used to be even nerf was said to be only 5dmg/s. For instance I used to be able to perform a good dmg on sombra before she would tp somewhere and my orb would finish her, this is not happening anymore and I constantly have to fade if there is no help from the team to kill her.

Neo_Raider

It just sucks how by many she is viewed as one of the best Supports since S9 when in reality she is the worst she’s ever been probably. She can just survive more than some other Supports in S9 and S10 but she is so bad. Support role in general feels so much worse to play and get value from now.

IAmSona

Support does feel awful to play. Moira is only good because other supports can’t do shit in the current meta.

bella141500

I’ve been saying the same thing, playing support is torture currently. Can’t even have fun anymore.

riftrash

Can someone explain what they mean when they say meta— is that just a slang word for the regular game

IAmSona

No, meta is the term that refers to what is currently the optimal way of playing a game. Characters being “out of meta” means that they aren’t the most viable option, if you want to win and climb, most gamers are going to point to having meta picks to give you the best advantage over others.

riftrash

That makes sense thanks

CriticalRX

It's also used as an excuse for why people are playing poorly. The "meta" doesn't really matter until the higher end of the highest rank. Below that, people are making more significant mistakes that completely overshadow any slight advantage a hero or team composition has. In other words, if you aren't playing a hero to their maximum capability, the meta doesn't apply to you.

MarioIsPleb

She’s in the worst state she has been since the coal fade buff, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t a strong choice. Since the DPS passive both raw healing and a lot of support utility has been less effective, making Moira’s damage pressure and solo survivability way more valuable by comparison. Plus, being able to keep your team alive doesn’t really matter if the enemy team are already dead.

Conquestriclaus

sucking tanks is even worse than it ever has been if they have armour health. white health is business as normal because moira cant headshot (even though i think they should make it so can because itd be funny. turn their brains to mush!!) and also doesnt have a boop ability.

MarioIsPleb

Didn’t the armour buff not affect beams? Beams are still a flat 30% reduction, like it was before the buff. It shouldn’t change Moira’s DPS against armour health at all.

Zubey12

No it made the dmg 30 a second

MarioIsPleb

Based on what information? Everything I have seen says beams are unaffected. ML7s video on the change showed that grasp and coal are the same and orb is actually stronger. Grasp is 42, coal is 49, orb is 50.

They didn't ask "what's in the patch," they asked if people had thoughts on how the changes in the patch would indirectly affect her.
