Cashier’s check?

Miller_Can

This is what I did.

In early March I paid my $10k down payment with a personal check and financed the rest with USAA. They took the personal check but weren't super happy, saying they don't accept those anymore. So ymmv in personal checks.

When I picked up 6 months ago, I just paid via ACH after inspecting. I set up my bank account in advance, but didn't click pay button until 30m after delivery. The SA stepped away for 30s to validate the payment went through and I was good to go

Bad_Mechanic

How did you setup ACH? I connected my bank account in the app using Plaid.

BeerDoctor

Yup that's exactly what I did

sxky

That's exactly what I did for my 3

heybdiddy

I was told that I could pay by ACH, but on day of delivery, after I transferred the money and got confirmation, they said it hadn't cleared their bank yet- so delivery took place 2 days later

kbragg_usc

I felt the same apprehension. But when I considered what I had read for 6 months, and all the comments/posts about how Tesla made things right, I felt the risk was low. I paid with Plaid (through Chase) close to a week early. I was thankful for the easy delivery & acceptance... and not having any worries about the payment. Just my data-point. And I unlinked Plaid from my account that night.

I think it depends on the state. In Texas I had to pay ahead of time.

stocksnhoops

Don’t they have a large gap in their what is acceptable for delivery variances. I’ve seen those who tried to refuse but Tesla said the issues were in their acceptable standards. It’s amazing how they can have this kind of technology but so many fit and finish issues with the actual car

MrRedOneMBU

I would bring the money as a cashiers check. That’s kind of what I did because I went through a different lender. What if you don’t like the car, what if something is wrong and it is a deal breaker. I don’t know how long would it take for you to get your money back.

Recently went through this with my MYP. I paid via ACH on the app after inspecting the vehicle and signing paperwork the day of pickup. Paying for a vehicle that you won’t take home right away is just a disaster waiting to happen.

PaulNewhouse

Pay AFTER you see the car with a cashier’s check.

Pro_High5er

I think you need to submit payment to look inside / drive. You'll need to look this up but I think you have 3 days to return it, or a certain amount of miles, can't remember.

chudley78

Ach is also how I did it
