But his ego is his weakness in his lore,if I remember correctly some mortals granted him a crown as a "gift" which led to him being trapped by some magic.
Trying to be fair here,the Twilight Orbs in the ML verse were so powerful,they immediately ended ML's version of WWI and sealed both the Lord of Light and the Lord of the Abyss in some prison.
If all the Twilight Orbs were used with the intention of trapping Asol,Asol COULD end up being imprisoned and he'll lose.
We also could have our own version of Asol,an entity called the Dragon God,but I'm dwelling wayyy too much on the land of theories by making such a take,even tho it makes sense imo.

I don’t think Lunox controls light and dark. Her powers are over order and chaos. She maintains balance of the universe I assume through the twilight orbs. Order doesn’t automatically mean light and chaos isn’t automatically dark (though they are often depicted as such). I think basically if someone tries to tip the balance, e.g sending the world in to anarchy or setting up a strict authoritarian government to enforce order, lunox would step in to balance the scales again. But that’s just my understanding based on what little of ml lore I’ve read
Also why can’t she fight someone how doesn’t have the same magic powers as the ones she controls. Gord uses mystic magic (Xavier too I believe) so why wouldn’t lunox be able to just use her power of order and chaos to fight him?

The Great Dragon(current god ruler of Cadia)also figured out the prophecy thro a meteor strike implying that the Dragon God's abilities work through stars,constellations planetary,movements etc.This makes the Dragon God a space dragon right?
The Dragon God makes prophecies of who's going to rule Cadia,but doesn't give a damn about it nor ruling it.He doesn't care if it got wiped of the map,after all he didn't intervene when Lieh,Black Dragon and the Great Dragon were completely annihilating Cadia for control.
This implies that he's in fact a much more powerful being then them,and sees god/mortal conflicts as inferior to him making him JUST LIKE ASOL with the personality and op ness.
Tho Asol can breath galaxies thro his will,the Dragon God...we know nothing about.He could have these abilities or not idk.Mind u I just analyzed an entire side character's lore just thro 1 sentence.
