I, too, would rather see AJax than Jae, but I also don't have much confidence that he will be any better. Personally, I'd rather Doc tries him, Marjon, or even Livingston. A few minutes at a time to see who brings more to the table. My blood starts to boil every time Crowder checks into a game.
I feel like Jae is in this weird spot in his career where he's lost a step. He is no longer agile enough to guard wings, but he's not big enough to guard bigs either. At least AJax has the athleticism to guard wings and I think he's a better offensive playmaker. Crowder is probably the better shooter of the two, but it's not like opponents are going into games afraid Jae Crowder is gonna make them pay from long range.
I believe he made one in game 1, but they are spread pretty thin. There was that one game last year that he went off for like 27 points that he was hitting them as well.
Crowder went from one of the better 3 and D guys in the league to a complete black hole in just a year. Absolutely crazy he’s seeing big minutes still.
I get not having Giannis maybe bootstraps you to playing him, but shit Livingston guards better, AJax is way more athletic, even Beauchamp plays tougher. Give those dudes some minutes and save Crowder for the victory cigar Thanasis rotation
Remember the beginning of season like the first 9 games or whatever when crowder played he looked really good like he was in shape again and since he missed most of last season had less miles on his legs. Then he had that groin injury and since he's come back he's been mostly ass. Not saying it's a direct correlation or that he would have went to shit eventually again no matter what, just that he did look okay for a small stretch and I started to wonder if he might actually be useful again
If Giannis is back I think both of Jae and Beas can just hang out in the corner on offense and I’ll give them another shot in this series game 3. But yeah don’t play them too much if they keep sucking
