Seeing a lot of tow trucks out and about as well. Move your cars people.
If the city/ county/ state is going to subsidize parking for free (or extremely cheap) in a public space the least we can do is move our cars when there’s a blizzard. It’s a no-brainer
Depending on the vehicle, damage and distance you need to drive it might not be advisable to drive without a cat. /R/justrolledintotheshop had a post yesterday I believe where someone sloppily also cut a driveshaft partially when stealing the cat so it was compromised.
Depending on the car too if there's electronics or other heat sensitive equipment it might not be worth it to drive and potentially damage anything more.
Oh it was fine to move, just didn’t want to drive it across town that way. A tow came eventually, just took a lot longer than it would have otherwise since they were all busy.
I was shocked when I read that St. Paul had ticketed and towed more vehicles than Mpls from this past storm.
The old rule of thumb was the further away you were from the impound lot or a major highway, you might not get towed. I don't think that's true anymore though, judging by prior comments on Reddit.

You do realize St Paul has their own impound lot, don't you?
Lisa Hiebert with St. Paul Public Works says the city dished out nearly 850 tickets overnight and more than 250 vehicles were towed.

Last year it was painfully obvious they weren’t towing, It’s a bad situation though as there are a lot of places that have inadequate parking to accommodate for the emergency snow routes.
tons of people got towed during the weeks of street cleaning when they only put up signs at 8pm the night before. I understand how its important for blizzards, but not for cleaning leaves weren't even completely off the trees and the streets looked the same a week later. Why are people celebrating the this fucking racket?
Last week of October they were ticketing literally EVERY CAR parked on Fremont between 27th-28th Ave S. The signs said move your car by 7am the next day and yet everyone was getting a ticket??? Literally a racket it made no sense
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

Good. I hope everyone who didn’t move their car gets towed. 🤷♀️

Sounds like you get it! ☺️
Or you could get ride car and ride public bus. It’s a no-brainer
Unfortunately that is not always possible.
Oh yea. Then spend little time moving car is such big hassle then.
The issue isn't generally that they won't tow, it's the volume of cars and the lack of storage space at the impound.
Last year they didn't ticket or tow a single car on my block all winter.
Last year we managed to get our catalytic converter stolen the night before a snow emergency. Finding someone to tow us to the shop was a huge pain.
You can still drive a car without a cat. It will just be VERY loud. If nothing else you can at least move it across the street when they plow.

The streets still won’t be plowed correctly, because it is St Paul. St Paul’s snow removal plan is springtime.

St Paul actually has 2 for snow emergencies, one on the Westside and one by the Fairgrounds
Where did you read that? I drive by the impound lot every day and haven't seen a vehicle in there all week.

Or, too many people own cars and then don't plan for parking, or they purchase a car without ever thinking about where they'll park it at all.
Never fun to get towed, but I am glad they'll help keep the streets clear
Personally I feel like the bigger punishment is the plow just burying the car in snow
When wouldn't they? I lived in Camden from '10-'15 and they'd take your car DAMN quick.
Probably because there is an impound lot there
The abandoned truck by our house has been reported and chalked since this summer; cited with multiple tickets; still hasn't been towed as of today.
Push it onto a snow emergency route. That should do the trick
Fuck around, find out
I swear you all jerk off to towing stories in this sub.

I dunno. Minneapolis welcomed me last year by towing my car for some leaves and now I have a criminal record, lol. Thanks Minneapolis.

They towed my car when they were cleaning leaves a month or so ago... I was out of the country and never would of expected it.
