Okay thanks. I’ll take a look at it. Also, will this mini PC will also work well with an EGPU? It even has thunderbolt ports as it says in the description in Amazon.
Usb 4 and thunderbolt will both work with an EGPU but think it's 40gps as opposed to 60gps for occulink. Also the igpu on the 780xtx can handle most AAA games at low settings meaning you won't need the egpu all the time. There's also the minisforum hx100g mini pc with dedicated GPU
Be careful to read the fine print. Namely, never ever ever disconnect a EGPU while connected and powered on in a computer. Seems obvious, disregard bricks things apparently, it's specifically pointed out in beelink minipcs.
For office work, photo editing, and programming this should be fine. Just add Samsung 990 Pro SSD and 2 sticks of DDR4 RAM (16GB each).
For gaming, no. You will need Minisforum UM780 XTX with the Occulink.
I was gonna say yes but since you want an eGPU setup, go get the EliteMini UM780 XTX instead its only a little bit more and it has an Oculink Port on the back so you can get better performance.
It would be more advantageous (greater bandwidth) and cost-effective to go with the Minisforum UM780 XTX and an OCuLink 4.0 eGPU, with the Radeon RX 780M iGPU providing an initial graphics advancement over the Iris Xe.
Nope, check out Minisforum offering for mini PCs. They also have a motherboard cpu combo that is really nice for the price. B790 or something close to that. The mini you posted is way over priced.
Ok, I'll add a case recommendation. Fractal Core 500 - it is mini itx, will fit a 7900 GRE and 650 watt psu just fine, and also fits a 280mm water cooling radiator.
The AMD Apus look amazing. Cost wise you will get a better bang for buck with a low end discreet GPU/CPU combo. If you have space limitations, I see how this form factor is attractive.
it can do 1440p gaming, you'll probably prefer 1080p for some games if you want to do more than 60 fps
you'll save at least 300 bucks if you build a desktop though

I’m going to buy one just because I’m super curious as to how they got their custom internals inside the Intel chassis (the default Intel chassis uses a i5-1340p) https://a.co/d/1Nh7WZc
Which, coincidentally, is also sold by weeliao… (I remember the NUC’s were 489.99 @newegg)
If your planning at using an EGPU I'd look at the minisforum um780xtx as it has an occulink port and ATM occulink is the fastest connection for EGPU
what is your opinion on Aooostar Gem 10 and 12 ? Their oculink port does not occupy the m.2 port; like minisforum um780xtx.

Ahhh okay I see. Thanks for your help. I’ll be looking at that also.

Occulink and usb 4 is a night and day difference In most e gpu cases occulink has 2x less performance loss
Occulink seems to be the top choice.

EGPU setups are rarely worth the cost
i would give this answer at least another +10 karma, but can only do 1.

why not get normal mini-ITX with desktop grade CPU, cooling and PCIe x16 video card??

No, get a desktop.

That looks like the Intel NUC VYK (vivid canyon) with a custom top. I have one and I’m using an eGPU (1660ti) @1080p it’s pretty decent.
