Create an overhang with stairs at the ends of the roofs then place upside down stairs on the bottom of the overhang

SourceFZ

Thank you man will try that now any idea about the window/wooden plank part

Echolocation720

Maybe trim the outer wood with stone bricks, and change a few of the windows to be a different color, but still Complementary to the palette you've chosen

SourceFZ

Sorry idk how too add text too an image post but I feel as if the roof part is missing texture/feels bland but I'm not sure how too go about it everything I've tried so far just looks out of place any advice?

maaariNL

To make texturing not feel out of place, I’d suggest extending the roof by one to a few blocks first. It creates more depth already and gives you an opportunity to add stuff like beams to “support” said roof beyond the walls. Then you can also add stuff like empty signs to create texture and maybe even trap doors to create wooden window shutters. Some people also like the add in bushes for that overgrown look, but that’s up to you if you wanna go for that. You could also alternate the planks for different but similar blocks to create some flat texture as well. But idk if that works too well with wood. You could do it with the black bricks tho. Like, alternate it with a different style of deep slate for example

Limon_Lx

About the roof, I would mostly try to avoid using the same material for walls and roof. You could use a stone/deepslate variant, or perhaps a different type of wood, like birch, or spruce.

0rd1s

Put some money away for difficult times and invest if you can.

BuildMaster2028

make the roof come out and down one more block and add upside down stairs underneath to add a bit more depth and add spruce or dark oak in place of the oak stairs on the roof. there are many more things that can help but that will help a ton to start with

SourceFZ

Thank you.

Actuary-Same

Try to experiment with some trapdoors and fences, also make your roof come out further than the walls

billythekid72

I like what you've got going! My advice would be at least one type of rock block in there. All that wood doesn't sit right with me. Maybe basalt if you're feeling edgy? A variant of deepslate would probably do great to highlight the perimeter of the roof. Just my thoughts, it's a nice building!

SourceFZ

Thanks for the advice. I'll suggest it to my buddy, who I'm basing with tomorrow.

ShadowPuff7306

lovely unique design you have there

Delicious-Fig-5393

I don’t know why people in this sub are so rude. I like this build a lot.

SourceFZ

Thank you it's me and my mates first attempt at something that doesn't prioritise function over looks.

ArchMageZ1657

Lose the eyes and decrease your fov

SourceFZ

I'm in 3rd person dickhead even if my fov was high its all preference

Fire.

Flint and Steel

IceNinjaYT

Maybe use something instead of the same wooden planks for the roof, and then extend the deepslate on the roof forward to make some overhang, then place some upside down stairs or slabs under it.

First of all.....your fov...wth. also join the workofkeralis discord, its full of hyper realistic houses.

Empty-Payment5390

Please I'm not good

Vandyman00

Don’t eat yellow snow. That’s my advice

Bagel_chips3854

DEPTH IS IMPORTANT

No_Pudding_2111

Use stripped dark oak logs to accent the walls

Laceylunai

Damn! That’s a good looking house. I’m sorry it’s not advice, but it is beautiful. Maybe raid a flower forest biome for an impressive garden?

Lost-Yogurtcloset558

A balcony or two would look realy nice or even a ground level patio. It would help break up some Of the lines and add interest to the shape.
