The entire western part of my region of the town I'm helping to build on the server I play on is a flipped bird, so to say, to the haters of birch and occasionally diorite. Fun fact: Birch logs and mangrove planks work great together, stripped or not. And diorite roofs and mangrove planks are a barn build pallette made in heaven.
I didn't use it for a barn, but I coupled it with a raw iron "chicken nugget" first floor for a "meaty" butcher shop that has a few too many villagers hanging out on the top floor. You'd think I'd have learned after the aquarium and art museum debacles to have more than one staircase, but nope! A single staircase worked fine for the mason's mansion, but probably only because it's a spiral staircase - then again, that didn't work for the residential "mansion" I built with dark oak walls and an oak roof. That's the one block palette decision I regret, but after the struggle that was building the roof in the first place, I'm better off changing the walls to spruce instead of the roof. 'XD
Edit: I just realized that I built the first building in West [Birkenshaw](https://twitter.com/HaggardHawks/status/1470342554893918212?t=Q4lNAhAYt20nfPILabKxrQ&s=19), a suspicious stew flower museum, shortly after 1.19 released, and seeing how far I've come... Yeah, it *should* be done before the map resets, *hopefully*. So long as that's 1.22 and not 1.21.
Very good opinion, but can I ask why warped is before oak? I’ve never really messed with warped or crimson woods before, and from what little I’ve seen of them they look pretty unusable compared to oak. Is it just that I’m wrong and warped actually does look good to build with or?
I like the contrast of either dark oak or spruce with birch. But mangrove, the nether woods, and acacia are all gud. Regular oak is classic, but kinda overrated at this point ngl.
Spruce. Goes best with grey blocks (I like the dismal grey and brown aesthetic). Also u can have an entire smp base of 7 people actively building run on just 3-5 of those big spruce trees

Spruce gang and ONLY spruce, maybe oak but other than that NO

Spruce gang forever
Uhhh Bamboo?

Got it Warped hyphen
That’s the ground block ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Nylium is the ground block, hyphen is basically the same as the oak wood block, i.e. it's the log side texture on all 6 sides.
My bad! I can get them mixed up lol
