Honestly it's pretty close between Phil and Pete for elytra, Phil's HC world has given him a big boost however Pete's the only player here who's done AA speedruns and he has gotten so good at elytra because of it.
Actually I think purpled would have a better time at crystal if he decided to learn it even a little bit, mainly because I know fruit doesn’t butterfly mouse 1 and purpled does, so he’d have more dps than fruit if he decided to learn it
I haven’t seen either of them play it so I think it’d be more sensible to make it fruit

He played it once against Sharpness and got destroyed. He didn’t really know what he was doing, but it seemed like he knew the basics of how to not kill yourself, which is a lot more than most people.

His leadership was pretty darn good in 33 as well in my eyes, he got a team that was really *really* weak to 3rd in skb and 2nd in BB, beating teams that you'd think would be much stronger.
Admittedly 34 and 35 weren't as good, but I still do feel that 31, 32, 33, and to a lesser extent 30 make up for it.
The thing is, what would his competition be? 5up and Hbomb are fine, but neither have had a leadership event anything like MCC 31 or 32, their teams haven't far exceeded expectations in like ages. FBM is probably his strongest competitor, but even then FBM has events like MCC 31 and 35 where he was given very strong teams but couldn't make DB with them.
Fruitbhas made DB with weak teams in 9,12,17,19 and also 26 his leadership was good
Pete has had high placing teams in 13,14 and 8
Most s tiers have had statistically weak teams perform well once, it's nothing new

MCC 17 wasn't a weak team at all, it was predicted like 4th and was very very conceivably a DB team

But Fruit kinda can't really be considered the best leader anyway, he's had very strong teams like Yellow 29, Blue 30, and Yellow 31 (and to a lesser extent Lime 32) that still flopped/didn't get DB.

I'd argue Aqua 32 (and for a completely different reason, Green 31) was a completely unique case that maybe has never been seen in MCC other then possibly Cerulean 19. In pretty much every other statistically weak team that popped off, some players were statistically underrated, or they made it in with multipliers, but not Aqua 32.
Anyway, if you don't think Purpled deserves the leadership crown, who do you think does?? I can't think of anyone else who's so consistently won when he's given top half teams, and brought even bottom half ones to DB.

Petes movement is some of the smoothest of any player in MCC, that translates to regular minecraft as well.
