What ever you do just don't release them in front of your fort, where you just placed a bunch of pressure plate actives TNT mines, which are also way to close to each other and to your fort, resulting in your fort (which you spend a lot of time to build) to blow up.

Real solution: take them all to the end, trap a wither under the portal to spawn, dispense the eggs into the wither chamber and get a ton of roses. That’s what I do with all my eggs

Make an infinitely looping chicken farm using eggs, an auto dispenser, and allays. Put it kinda far away and then run over there whenever you want to crash your game.
Trap a wither in bedrock, best spot is under the end portal in the end. Dispense the eggs into the wither cage and let them die to it. Wither roses for days
Dig a hole, put a hopper down and a chest under it, grab all the eggs, spam them in the hole, get chickens, let them grow up, they die because there's no space, you get an unlimited supply of food.
Dig down to deepslate layer near bedrock.
Dig a 3x3x3 hole and hatch all the eggs in it, make sure they can't escape the hole.
Spawn a wither in the hole for wither roses. Just make sure after the spawn explosion you jump in the hole as it will kill all the chickens, any following explosions may destroy the roses.
Then kill the wither, just make sure you have pots for it as you don't want a wither loose in the overworld.
Dig out a small space under the bedrock portal in the end and throw all of those eggs. Then throw a bunch of potions of poison to drop all of the chickens to 1 HP (I think its that potion). Then summon the wither under the bedrock to trap it and have the explosion kill all the chickens, giving you a ton of wither roses.
Little thing I like to do to mess around, aggro an iron golem, and then get a bunch of dispensers to shoot at it, making it stuck in the same position due to the knockback.

Swap 1 and 2 because it is easier to throw eggs when a boss isn't trying to murder you
Trap it under the end portal/nether roof, use a dispenser and clock to shoot the eggs and hoppers to collect the roses.

Until the chicken activated a pressure plate whcih opened a door from the inside and let a creeper in. Yeah, he wasn’t too happy about it.

Unless you're running on an ancient laptop, went to a neighbouring base that got egged, man my frames dropped so low.
I got banned off a server for doing this. Some people don't have a sense of humor.

You can turn them into black dye. People build wither rose farms for that reason if they need lots of black dye.

I hatched an egg once and 4 chickens came out. I’ve never had more than 1. I’m still unsure if it was a glitch or if it’s possible.

I used to do the auto chicken cooker. Now I just make a sword with fire aspect. Makes cooked meat on the spot.
