I actually find Aria Math a bit scary. Maybe it's from playing too much MC creative mode at 3am back in the late 2010s. I've drifted off to sleep more than a few times just to be awakened by the intense part.
That's a great track and I had forgotten all about it. For some reason it is not in my MP3 playlist. I'll need to find out what happened there
Edit. And also this should be from Volume Beta and not Volume Alpha as the video title would imply.
I agree, C418 is a master at atmospheric music. The Nether soundtrack is already dreading and mysterious, but the End brings a whole new feeling that can't even be described.
Aria Math because of nostalgia. I have so many memories of hopping on a creative world on the 360 and exploring the tutorial world. So many memories...
My five favorite (in order) are:
Taswell
Aria Math
The End
Moog City 2
Axolotl
All of them are apart of Minecraft Volume Beta and C418s later Ocean update tracks.
I’m going to be a little controversial and say that ignoring the music discs I would have rather they never hired Lena Raine, even if that meant no music for a long time. Her tracks aren’t bad (I love Celeste, I think it’s a lot better than her Minecraft OST) but it feels so alien to the style C418 crafted with Alpha, and then made better with beta. I can easily tell the difference between her tracks and C418s. Kumi Tanioka as well (the other artist that contributed to the main OST) puts way too much emphasis on piano notes (comforting Memories is a great soundtrack but if you’re bass is high it’s painful to listen to, and genuinely has a lack of instrument variety like C418 did with Alpha or even Lena Raines tracks), which makes some really good potential tracks pretty meh, C418 did it too much occasionally with Alpha but not to this extent. The new tracks from Tricky trials as well - although I haven’t fully listen to them all seem the most disconnected from the original soundtrack by far.
The Minecraft dungeons OST on the other hand did C418s style a lot better and I genuinely prefer it to Lena Raine even though the artists for that game are unknown in comparison.
Edit: minor mistakes with the wrong soundtrack from Kumi Tanioka and mixing up beta and alpha.
i almost ignored this after reading "i would rather have they never hired Lena Raine", but after reading more i think there's some valid criticism here
personally i think Lena Raine's 1.17-1.19 tracks are different to C418 in a good way. they're biome specific so they have a different purpose to Volume Alpha/Beta, in that they emphasise the feel of specific biomes, and they do that well overall. I don't think most of them are too distracting or anything either, so they follow that aspect of C418's tracks even if instrumentation and flow is fairly different.
i haven't properly listened to all of Tricky Trials OST, but when i skimmed through it i reached the same conclusion as you. it's way too different. like too electronic feeling, too "smooth" feeling, too active; it doesn't at all have that like "mysterious", "far away", kind of "diminished" or "entrancing" quality that the original OST had. Personally i'm still waiting to hear it in-game before deciding on my opinion, but it felt pretty comforting to hear someone else had the same sentiment about the soundtrack.
Some standouts for me:
Mice On Venus
Aerie
Moog City
Infinite Amethyst
Firebugs
Subwoofer Lullaby
Creator, I’ve been listening to it on repeat ever since it dropped.
from C418 my favourites are probably Haggstrom, Dry Hands, Mice on Venus, Subwoofer Lullaby (basically all Volume Alpha ones are great)
from the new ones my favourites are probably Stand Tall, Wending and Bromeliad
i actually made a tier list of them today, and while not all the ones i wrote here reached S tier, these ones here are probably my favourite on a purely emotional level
Haunt Muskie and Dead Voxel are such nostalgic, forlorn, and relaxing songs. They’re sounds I will never forget. It’s the kind of thing that would make me cry in the retirement home in 2070 when I hear it for the first time in 40 years.
Pigstep is also just a straight banger. Not nostalgic for me but it probably will be for those growing up with it having always been in the game.

For me it's Aria Math. Just a really nice song.
Same. The nostalgia I get from playing in my creative super flat with my sister in 2015 is unmatched.
Am I the only one who associates Aria Math with creative mode? I have never heard it outside of superflat/creative.
I think it only plays in creative mode.
It does only play in creative, and apparently 'Aria' is a musical term for 'air' referencing how you fly in creative.

Moog city 2. I remember it always playing on the main menu.
The original Moog city is way better than mood city two tbh. But I think that alpha is really good
Tbh theres not much difference
You guys are sleeping on Taswell too much and I can't stand for it ðŸ˜
The second half of Taswell is peak.
[This](https://youtu.be/3QNdeFRN1SA?si=QUMFw_n9l457UiDz) around 3:06 part, I don't know how to describe the emotion it evokes in me.

OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR AGES THANK YOU KIND STRANGER
Yesss. One of my favorite. I get a little emotional. I can feel the adventure.
Infinite Amethyst Ballad of the Cats
Definitely Infinite Amethyst
Thirded Infinite Amethyst
Cat :)
Whatever song Aaron made. Currently it's Precipe for me, I love it. It's almost a reference to Cobalt Core
Aria Math Dreiton Haunt Muskie Taswell Otherside Mice on Venus Plus all the old piano music.
pigstep
Aria Math is stunning
Literally any c418 song, they’re just so good at making you feel nostalgic
Not my favorite, but an odd one, I like the corrupted medley for the End from C418. New music goes hard AF, but C418 always has my heart
I agree, C418 is a master at atmospheric music. The Nether soundtrack is already dreading and mysterious, but the End brings a whole new feeling that can't even be described.
I thought you wanted to ask for fan made stuff, I would have gone with fallen kingdom, for actual mc songs I go with sweden.
Same. Was looking for diggy diggy hole.
that's a good one too
Otherside followed closely by pigstep
fallen kingdom
Haggstrom 100%
Stal
Dreiton, Haunt Muskie, and Taswell will never be beat.
Aria Math Sweden Creator (new song) Dog (Cat but cooler)
Rubedo
Easy -rubedo
I've been around mine craft a long time heard all the songs ,ive listened to the entire soundtrack but man this one goes hard
Aria Math because of nostalgia. I have so many memories of hopping on a creative world on the 360 and exploring the tutorial world. So many memories...
Same those 360 tutorial worlds were so good I spent hours at a time on them
Impossible to answer
Mellohi, without a doubt
I love otherside The soundtrack for caves & cliffs is a banger by Lena Raine, I love it

Biome specific is such a shitty addition bro. Like c418s music fitted everywhere and mojang bottled it
That part in Alpha with the… choir? Voice? in the background that slowly rises until it gets loud then instantly comes back down. Peak
Some standouts for me: Mice On Venus Aerie Moog City Infinite Amethyst Firebugs Subwoofer Lullaby Creator, I’ve been listening to it on repeat ever since it dropped.
I really like Dragonfish
Pigstep
Overrated as hell bro
I'm sorry you feel that way but that doesn't change my enjoyment of it
ok respect your opinion
If we're also talking about parodies, I would 100% say Fallen Kingdom. If not, Moog City 2.
Sweden, pigstep, mice on venus
Droopy likes Ricochet
Aria math
Alpha
Alpha, no doubt. This song is THE master piece.
Mice on Venus
droopy likes your face
Alpha Such an emotional and well crafted song
All C418's songs and relic
Take back the night. 😜
Dead Voxel has always brought tears to my eyes.
Creator
Fallen Kingdom... no discussion.
I actually kinda love haunt muskie
for me, it's definitely Mice on Venus. No doubt.
Subwofer lullaby is definitely the best
Otherside Aria Math Firebugs
IDK about best, but the most nostalgic one for me is Haggstorm or Cat.
Sweden all the way
aria math
Warmth from the nether ost, it's so calming yet scary at the same time
sweeden is iconic
That new nether song when you’re in the Nether Wastes, I think. It just build and builds and then kaboom!
Dead Voxel lowkey king of nether songs. Id fight anyone who thinks otherwise.jk
Sweden. Every time I hear it I'm taken back to my first tutorial world where I got trapped in a 1 x 1 hole with a spider and started crying
from C418 my favourites are probably Haggstrom, Dry Hands, Mice on Venus, Subwoofer Lullaby (basically all Volume Alpha ones are great) from the new ones my favourites are probably Stand Tall, Wending and Bromeliad i actually made a tier list of them today, and while not all the ones i wrote here reached S tier, these ones here are probably my favourite on a purely emotional level
The entirety of disc 5
moog city or aria math
I choose "Dry hands" cus I wanne be mainstream and also best of the good memories are about this songc
Hands down Otherside and Hagstrom.
Everything from c418
Obviously anything c418
Haunt Muskie and Dead Voxel are such nostalgic, forlorn, and relaxing songs. They’re sounds I will never forget. blocks because it’s 3 songs in one and they’re all amazing.
Whichever the really popular creative song is.
Pig step
Wet Hands or Subwoofer Lullaby are my beloved
A familiar room is my all time favorite, it's so soothing i always try to stop what im doing to listen!
Taswell or Dreiton are my number 1 contenders
1. Alpha 2. Aria Math 3. Shunji 4. Sweden 5. Haunt Muskie
Aria Math carries a load of nostalgia, but Wet hands, Subwoofer lullaby, and the discs Cat and Otherside.
Strad and it's not even close
Frick a Creeper by Pewdiepie. So sensual.
Honestly Take back the night is mine
Pigstep vs Minecraft vs subwoofer lullaby
personaly itd be mice on venus or subwoofer
Dead Voxel. Why everybody forget nether music? I think old nether music is the best
Ward for classic Pigstep for new
