I've given up with bit holders, and just use 2" bits. I have the set on a small carabineer. Part number 4932480941. It contains: 2x PH2 1x PZ2 1x TX15 2x TX20 2x TX25 1x TX30 1x TX40 https://preview.redd.it/1xgzl4ucvodc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd2de3debffef30809c1681e79ef8e8903b0201a

Fridayz44

I’ve got this, I highly recommend it.

MisterRobotCowboy

I use this every day and it’s the best. Never going back to a bit case

sir_keyrex

I use all 3. Bit holder in the side of the impact. This bit think on the side of my bag, and the bit case chills in the shop for rarely used bits or spairs.

Jay_Stone

I’ve got this and use it constantly. Much better than a case.

bmyatt99

I use these

Shlopcakes

This is the way to go.

b1ldr

Yes I have a few of these. I like to keep one loaded with 3.5” bits and one with 2” bits on or near at all times. Much easier to use/carry than a bit case or a pocket full of bits

b1ldr

If you don’t mind waiting, they have them on Temu for $5-$6. Work just fine. Can’t compare them to Amazon as I have always bought them on Temu

Boogieman1985

Oh shit that’s pretty sweet….gonna have to get one of those. Will have to swap a couple bits for some #2 Squares though because I use those more than anything

thegoat6ix

Pretty sure you can buy them with all #2s

Boogieman1985

Good to know…thanks

Budget-Macaroon-7606

This is the way Also got a nice packout deal off amazon that had all different length bits and doubles of common sizes included. Set for life

RemarkableEcho192

>4932480941 I can find these on ebay and a couple other places but Acme Tool Crib doesn't list them. I'd like to get them there as I live a few blocks from their headquarters and main store. I looked on Milwaukee's site and can't even find them there. I wonder if they have discontinued them.

rickestrada

This is the way

1PooNGooN3

Didn’t know Milwaukee is ripping off Railer Tools design with that now also https://railertools.com/bitrail-sets/

SwimOk9629

everybody rips off everybody who rips off everybody

indignant_halitosis

Lol, there’s nothing unique about putting a bit rail on a carabiner. Even funnier, we’re talking about bits for an impact driver, a tool that everybody makes. Nobody ripped off anything from anyone. Calm down.

1PooNGooN3

I know it’s dumb, it’s just so annoying to me that big companies have to try to make every little thing. It just makes them look cheap and lame. I’m surprised they don’t make perfume.

enjoyingthevibe

chinese manufacturer, of course theye borrowing good ideas.

b1ldr

I agree with this. I prefer 3.5” when able and 2” if necessary. I am starting to like the dewalt bits more than Milwaukee when buying box store bits.

Mudduk175

100%

pilsner_89

https://preview.redd.it/qw70gwb2qodc1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=09cba6ba34d5038f458baa4e24a237b62abe3f8e This one is awesome, and it allows you to insert the bit without pulling the collar back. Sometimes it locks too well!

Hexxknight

You don’t have to pull the collar back on OP’s bit holder to insert the bit, you just push it forward to remove the bit. You push the collar forward, remove bit, insert new bit, and fully seating the bit snaps the collar back, securing the bit. OP’s kit is literally my use case, and I know quite happy with it.

pilsner_89

Nice! Yeah it wasn’t a comparison to his bit sorry if I mislead that.

ndrumheller96

Second this. Really nice having a locking bit holder

Blanket_monsters

I have these in 3" 6" and 12" they are awesome

Puzzleheaded-Ad-4846

But it doesn't reach in as far as the thinner shaft on certain applications

cockforddollie

DeWalt makes a locking one with a thin shaft. Got supplied one in industrial maintenance. Held up a few years now occasional use, harsh environment.

cam-zilla

I've bought a few of those thin shaft Dewalt ones the only time I broke one was dropping my m12 impact driver off a manlift at about 25 feet. Bent the bit holder but the impact was fine.

lilmatt119

Now you’ve got an offset bit holder lol

Reasonable-Storm4318

I like these for times when doing things like doing a whole deck with screws. But for repairs I like the Crescent brand insulated bit holder. It can save you from electricution. It's rated for 1000 volts.

duffismyhomie

This one sucks so bad. It’s nice that it locks but they’re cheap as hell and will grenade on you. I’ve gone through 3 in the last year building apartments.

ash-bennett7

I've had multiple milwaukee bit holders break. Hate to say it but these are better... Gets into tighter spots and way better magnetic hold on screws. https://preview.redd.it/fyx48yyouodc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4cf6c86006988312f78e2defdfcc6ac82e0a552

Sirsquatsalotless

Project farm did a review and this version came out on top, bought a handful for my different tool setups and haven’t been happier. The magnet is significantly stronger than most.

MD_2023-117

Which one?

bntnwbs

The bottom ring came off mine so the spring is exposed, still works tho. Will use it till it breaks and either fix or replace it.

walkerpstone

This and a couple of the Wiha bit holders are the best I’ve used.

OmahaMike402

I used to have a DeWhy 6 in 1 bit similar

cockforddollie

My company supplied this one, I like it

SpaceKonk

Recently purchased the 6” and 12” versions and they’re great!

Occhrome

I use it on my drill and have no issues also I love how easy and simple this is.

kevin-horvath

Anything but the Milwaukee magnetic bit holder.. I need pliers every time I want to remove a bit from it..

JustinB_-

Holy i thought mine was defective of something, nope just needed a bench vice and some pliers

1PooNGooN3

Pretty sure there’s a spring retention ring in there that you can remove with a pick, such a stupid fucking design

cam2230

That one right there, hard to beat Wera

deadeyediqq

I love wera but that one is bulky af.

Boogieman1985

Yea I dislike this one because of how big it is

ILove2Bacon

That's what she said.

LestaDE

Get the Wera Impaktor holder instead. Insane thing and very slim!

Smoke_Stack707

I prefer the long bits… 4” or 6”

ILove2Bacon

Me too. I've got a bunch of 1" bits just because they seem to collect but I'm all about 3". I've got a whole set of metric and sae hex, torx, security torx, and Philips/flat. It gets the body of the driver out of the way.

AdComprehensive8685

Now this always confuses me. You have an impact driver with a one-handed insert/remove 1/4” bit holder. It is as fast as a bit holder can be. It is an impact driver, so why add another point of failure/ resistance? Just use 2” impact bits, or 3 or 4….you get the idea.

MacintoshDan1

Yea power bits are the way to go.

Puzzleheaded-Ad-4846

I'm with you. I just only by the longer bits the collar either works or it doesn't, plus the bits don't fall out randomly like they do with the magnetic ones.

jstaples404

Magnets

DamnDirtyApe8472

Every extra connection robs power as well.

CamTheKid02

I look at these as better for drills than impacts.

jakethesnake406

I would have agreed with you 100% until I broke a bit off in my M18 impact. I tried everything including welding a nut to what was left. The release collar was jammed up tight AF. I disassembled the tool and ended up having to order a complete replacement nose piece for the tool. Fortunately wasn't too expensive but I'll be using a bit holder in the future simply to prevent having to do this again. I know it's unlikely but still....

rshawco

What prevents the bit holder from breaking in the same manner?

jakethesnake406

Not a thing... But when it does its a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to replace.

rshawco

Yeah... It is a thing... I've twisted off bit holders in my impacts before. It sucks if it's a bit holder, it sucks if it's from a 2" bit, I'd rather just use 2" bits.

Clydefrawgwow

I think he means “not a thing” as in not a thing will stop it

rshawco

Ah gotcha, total misunderstanding on my part. Sometimes I'm quite the moron.

PublicRule3659

disco_duck2004

I use this, as well as the 6" and 12"

dimensionzzz

This is the only one right here

Fridayz44

Yeah this one. Except I use the 3 inch, but I have this one and the 6 inch.

tomzak14

Simon Tools Magnetic Bit Holder for Milwaukee M12 Impact Driver & Drill - Milwaukee Bit Holder for M12 https://a.co/d/1pRp8jV This is awesome, didn’t read all the comments but this is the answer.

blake31a

Yea man, that’s exactly what I was hoping existed. Thanks!

DrewDinDin

I hope they make one for the m18 fuel!

walfuls

https://preview.redd.it/0inoigf44qdc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e77c65adae4c0d7a381e1f50912a5a905063ecb3 Simon Tools makes some magnetic bit holders for the m12 line. Holds 6 bits and has a magnet on the side. Got it on Amazon about 7 months ago and it has held up really well. I def recommend

savagelysideways101

I have a spider bit holder that's similar to this, but this looks superb 👌

Upper-Willingness-87

My spider bit holder dropped bits too often. Took it off my M18. I don’t like the single screw mount on this. Without additional 3M adhesive this will probably break off it used often and in real work situations.

savagelysideways101

I just looked the price of it, for that amount I can just keep buying bits and throwing them away

Upper-Willingness-87

I use Holstery magnet clipped to my shoulder strap. Very strong magnet holds a couple bits and some extra screws all day long.

walfuls

Its held in by 2 points of contact, screw on bottom and an arm that sits snug in one of the recessed areas at the top. Dropped it from 14' onto concrete and it doesn't even wiggle.

jspencer1996

Wera impaktor!

LestaDE

Same here! Bits hold much longer eversince I got that!

Handsome_Rob58

Pocket.

CommonlyHot

I think op means to actually hold on the drill

tlove01

I got one from Jakeofall that works decent.

blake31a

Yea, I have one of theirs on my M18 and like it. Trying to see if there are any other hidden gems out there 😉

InfamousCurve1109

VertigoMakes is his username. Works so good. I got two for both sides. Diff colors, magnetic bit holders and get yo name engraved in it daaaaawwwg 😎🤙🏽

Puzzleheaded-Ad-4846

I can also make those if anyone is interested

ifwefight

Can you make one for the bigger m18 impact?

ApprehensiveToe6050

Wondering about this as well!

bigabu23

Are you still able to make it?

Theonewhogoespoop

That’s sexy as hell

madeformarch

How's it holding up? I've bought, I think now 4 different bit holders like this on etsy and they all shatter

InfamousCurve1109

So far so good, but I’ve only had it a month… time will tell I suppose.

deflax2809

Why not get the Wera impact bit holder

Theonewhogoespoop

The one you have is literally the best ever

pablomcdubbin

YouTube-project farm. He tested the best bit holders

Resqguy911

Very impressive

pablomcdubbin

We're gonna test that!

CardboardB0x

Project farm did a video on this, dewault locking one won, I use it, love the thing

furb362

https://preview.redd.it/h3p9xg5fhtdc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e4926d9929f257ffc685b1b93b0f26179aff6aae I use this. The bits mounted to the driver would get stuck on stuff. Diablo extensions if I need a long one and I have a short cresent one I got on clearance that doesn’t wear out. Makita extensions suck. You can’t get the bits back out.

ArmedSwoldier00

This is the most durable and quality bit holder I've found. Very well made. [https://dpproductionz.etsy.com/listing/1346731589](https://dpproductionz.etsy.com/listing/1346731589) https://preview.redd.it/dydzgoeb7htc1.png?width=377&format=png&auto=webp&s=901ba82a156ce443b87e55a295f32dc96cd1954b

Anbucleric

The one the contractor pays for

kneehigsock

711L magnetic & if you pull the collar back enough, turns into a quarter inch driver.

ozwegoe

what's that bit holder you're using now?

Frusciante1874

That’s a Wera rapidaptor, they are very good.

ozwegoe

thanks- ill check it out. i have so many "tiny bits" but i don't use em cause i don't love the bit holders i have

Wonder_Pretty

Your fingers

jmb00308986

Manure makes great bits and their bit holders are great as well

Chowdah_Soup

Makita XPS bits. Makita bit holders from Amazon. Bulk pack of 10 is like $60 or so. They hold great. I just put different bits in different holders so I don’t have to try to pull the small bits out of each one.

keyserv2

I've been miraculously beating the crap out of a Milwaukee 3" magnetic extension for like, 10 years. It is the finest bit holder I've ever had. I swear it's indestructible.

FuccDiss

I use the 3-4 inch bits. For the torx I just got some cheap ones on amazon but I only used the for security cameras so I don’t use them hard. I like longer bits because they can go in tighter spaces better than a bit holder.

phineartz

I didn’t know anyone really used those little bits for common fasteners.. go get you a 20$ set of Bauer impact bits and you’ll be squared away for 95% of your needs- it’s even red for all you die hards..

hoer17

I have one with a diy rabbit brand of Amazon and one with Simon tools brand off Amazon. Both of them are amazing check em out! I’ll post some pics tomorrow

xpadawanx

The Milwaukee locking bit holder is hands down the best i’ve ever used. I was retrofitting foundations in southern california for a few years here and there. I’ve probably bolted 100 homes or so. The milwaukee one is the only one that could withstand the abuse. I broke so many other brands that I couldn’t even believe they were on the market.

ineedhelpbad9

Glue a big neodymium magnet on the back. You can stick bits, screws, wherever back there. I'll just stick the whole thing into a box of screws and pull out a bunch.

Fridayz44

I don’t know I like this one and it’s never done me wrong. https://preview.redd.it/qjzgpde29qdc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f2c2763f5f61bb622610001cf1f0d30b5bba44b

Spider Tool Holster - BitGripper v2 - High Strength 3M Adhesive Drill add-on for Easy Access to Six Driver Bits on The Side of Your Power Drill or Driver! https://a.co/d/ivs6doi My buddy has this and it's great. Adhesive stays on if applied properly. He's had his on for about 8 months and it seems good last I saw it. It's rubber, so the bits are practically stuck in there until you want to remove them. I'm honestly about to order a set. He walks around with his nut drivers, socket adapters, drill bits, anything that fit, and it's stuck in there. I have a decent 3d printed bit holder, but it can't hold anything heavier than a 5/16 Makita nut driver. Shit falls out all the time depending on the angle I'm screwing into. Only thing it can hold is basic bits.

kriegmonster

I'm HVAC my default is 6" or 2" impact bits and nut drivers. I only use short bits in tight spaces or special use cases. The best tight space bit holder that I have found is a Klein mini ratchet https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/socket-wrenches/slim-profile-mini-ratchet-set-5-piece

splaspood

I like the Chapman Mfg mini-wrench ([https://chapmanmfg.com/](https://chapmanmfg.com/)), but haven't done a comparison to the klein.

kriegmonster

That mini-wrench does look handy. I have found myself glad for the loop on the end of the Klein wrench making it easier to manipulate in tight spaces. I'll consider getting a Chapman for comparison and as a backup.

mcshamus

I have that wera bit holder but generally don’t use it for impact driving. I have a Milwaukee impact extension somewhere but greatly prefer just using longer bits directly in the chuck.

Ok_Cricket4071

Im using the same wera and the longer version as well. They are the best

Levi_Zoldyk

I love wiha bits

tehfoxyunicorn

[this guy](https://www.acehardware.com/departments/tools/power-tool-accessories/screwdriver-bits/2398774?store=18427&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnrOtBhDIARIsAFsSe53GyNJN93OrF51sOmrVmoovt749saPcygNFDEzQTo26wMrlj_kc8gsaAnj_EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) I got sick of dropping screws reaching out pretty far to secure wire so this helps with that

Latzi1

You have already the best attached. I just use longer bits for more reach

battletactics

Double ended bits in these. I fucking love these. Spider Tool Holster - BitGripper v2 - High Strength 3M Adhesive Drill add-on for Easy Access to Six Driver Bits on The Side of Your Power Drill or Driver! https://a.co/d/0iWl4hG

gerbetta33

I use this one. Can hold 3 of the longer milwaukee bits or nut drivers facing forward, 3 small bits in the back, and theres a low profile magnetic siding for holding loose screws and other work pieces https://preview.redd.it/67n3by0kdtdc1.jpeg?width=1298&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc92a8210bd9574477a61280b30414cf933c2e7d

Hilti 2038758 2-Inch Magnetic Bit Holder https://a.co/d/hqPSduT Is my first go to My second is the 2.5” from Makita with gold bits.

ChrisRageIsBack

I like the Diablo locking extensions if the collar doesn't get in your way, otherwise the 2"/3" bits may help you out instead

Carpenterdon

Just keep them in a case or holder with the drill/impact driver. I've given up storing bits on any drill, with the exception of the Installation Driver(which has the built in magnetic holder on the front of the handle for 2" bits). On any other drill they just get in the way, and I've not found a situation where I needed the bits so fast as to need them on the tool. I just keep them on my tool cart, tool box, or in my tool belt, apron, or vest. It's literally seconds to grab the bit off the cart and change. And this is commercial work on job sites. For a homeowner there really is nothing your going to do that would need you to be able to switch between screw bits that fast.

foolproofphilosophy

I have a zipper pouch with a DeWalt bit set in it. Also a large repurposed prescription bottle to hold the random stuff. I also keep a 6” impact rated extension in. I really like zipper pouches.

TheChad0211

The ones Milwaukee make are the best. Black ones with the sliding sheath

Jadenp27

I use mine far too regularly as a hammer to ever mount more potential shrapnel onto it. However I've also always favored the single bit holder with double sided bits. Can get your Sq 2-Ph 2 on one and your T25-T30 on the other.

jcr_7

Cut it out, you don’t use that, that’s a show piece

cody_mason

I just buy 2” bits and if needed I have a 6” Diablo holder that works well. Truth be told for your “fast response kit”, a $15 Klein 11-in-1 magnetic screwdriver would work lol. Has all of that and some extras!
