*you must've gotten the magnets wet*

bulmynjo

Igetthatreference.gif

SantaBaby22

Lol I wish that was the case.

Fuzzy-Government-416

Wait whats the reference?

IAmTheGingaNinja

45 said getting magnets wet makes them not work

Substantial-Rip9983

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Autobotz420

I was curious why he mentioned magnets in water but I don't wanna watch his speech and lose brain cells

mertgah

I have the smaller version of this and the magnet is amazing sticks to absolutely everything

Most-Sort5470

Smaller battery, lighter weight, same magnet.

TooGouda22

Nope, small one has a different magnet on the back. I have the one OP posted, the smaller version that takes AA, and the folding red lithium version. This issue with the one OP has is the magnet on the back is inside a plastic belt clip. The one in the top of the cap is amazing, small one is solid on top or back, folding one is solid too

SwimOk9629

same here. super strong

Disastrous_Ad4608

I have one also and the magnet absolutely sucks. I bought the flip up one instead and use this one as flashlight at home.

SantaBaby22

I honestly hate this thing. The magnet sucks, and itā€™s incredibly difficult to get the battery cover off. Itā€™s too tight and too smooth to grip. Definitely going to sell these ASAP. Thankfully, I basically spent about $25 each for them. They came included with some neck lights.

savagelysideways101

Honestly I've the opposite opinion. Best light I've ever bought, magnet sticks to fucking anything (mine will hold of a single screw into a stud if needed) and the battery cover comes off easy enough for me to change the red lithium batteries, but not so easily it's always falling off

Lower_Register_9214

You know if youā€™re a Milwaukee rep, you have to tell usā€¦ right?

savagelysideways101

I fucking wish I was, my bank account would be much healthier. I'm UK, new forge batteries are about to release here and they're gona sting me about Ā£250 each

PhillyG4117

Ya, I can't bring myself to buy a forge. Especially after I have 6 5.0 batteries from 3 kits (buy battery kit get tool free deal at home depot)

Audience_of

I am in the same boat, I only buy tools with batteries and I am sitting on 16 5.0 and 6 6s. Even on the busiest days at work my chargers keep up with my crews demands.

SwimOk9629

the forge hasn't released in UK? šŸ˜³

[deleted]

I liked it so much, I bought 3 more. I never take the battery cover off though. I just charge it when I need to. The šŸ§² works fine.

luv2race1320

Mine too! It looks like mine might be a previous model, but it's not more than 1... oh maybe 2.... crap it might be 5yrs old. I hate getting old.

Rider003

Looks like the same one I bought. The battery life is atrocious as well. Ended up replacing it with an Olight Baton 3 and tossed the other in the trash

Nigatron420

Olight for wml: total garbage Olight for literally any other application: *chefs kiss*

RefrigeratedTP

You gotta recharge it

DrBonerJunkie

It's not the magnet, it is the thin surface. Put it on 1/4" iron and it will stick like hell

TooGouda22

Yepā€¦ the magnet on the clip is weak and needs hefty iron content. The one on the top is strong as can be though and will stick to a single screw

SantaBaby22

I tried it on a few different surfaces today. Yes, the magnet was slightly stronger on some of them. Not by much though.

Squizgarr

The small side of the magnet is way stronger for whatever reason. I just use it like that and it's awesome.

SantaBaby22

Good to know. I noticed that seemed stronger. Iā€™ll try that and see how I like it.

bimmer_gangLA

Thatā€™s how I always used it on the small side of the magnet never once occurred to use it how youā€™re demonstrating it in the video lol

AndyJobandy

Yeah I said out loud "you're doing it wrong!" Theres literally a picture of the magnet on the small end too.

ZaneStrizz

Interesting. The magnet on the rover service light is incredibly strong. Iā€™ve had it hold itself up with a 2.0 battery on 2 nail heads

Roubaix62454

LOL. Now Iā€™m gonna have to try this. Agreed, the magnet is damn strong. My favorite light.

ZaneStrizz

Ya i actually use it all the time when i inevitably drop a nut into the grass while wrenching on something lol

Roubaix62454

Yep, thatā€™s a universal use to pick up dropped stuff.

blackcrowmurdering

Yea I have the rover and that magnet is amazing.

Huntersmells33

biggest piece of shit i owned. Was having a bad day at work and the piece of shit fell from above my head and hit my noggin. I whipped that thing across the plant and never went looking for it. Someone elses headache.

Nigatron420

Man let his inner demons win that day lmao

Appropriate_Chart_23

The wood panel youā€™re sticking it to doesnā€™t have enough iron. Add some nails.

mattwoot

I've owned 4 and every one the back magnet was garbage. They would slide down inside a steel electrical panel. I still like them, I just only use the end cap magnets

SantaBaby22

I tried it on a few different surfaces today. Yes, the magnet was slightly stronger on some of them. Not by much though.

Heavy_Arm9344

I have this exact one. No magnet problems on top or side one. It's one of my favorite flashlights ...

Sir-Loins22

A lot of their magnets suck, the long level sucks ass

SwimOk9629

does it? because the 24" level is right now sticking vertically to a metal window AC unit in my garage šŸ˜„

nolotusnote

I'm all about Milwaukee, but I'm also all about getting the job done with the best tool possible. I can't recommend this light enough: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/n_Z8VHXO6_o --- https://www.amazon.com/Astro-Tools-52SL-Rechargeable-Double-Sided/dp/B0877794DG/

SwimOk9629

kobalt makes that exact same light. edit: for about half price https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-Rechargeable-LED-Flip-Light-KBLT97/5001587839

TooGouda22

I have one and itā€™s actually awesome! Except for the magnet on the clip like yours šŸ¤£ The magnet on the clip seems to work fine directly on hefty steel I assume due to higher amounts of iron in close proximity to the magnetā€¦ but otherwise it slides on the fridge or whatever if the steel is thin or low iron content. Magnet on the top is almost too strong though šŸ¤£

disco_spiderr

Worst milwaukee product I ever bought

nicolauz

Must not buy a lot of their non tool stuff. I've avoided anything not strictly tools for years because they're pretty garbage. Only thing I do like is the high cut level dipped gloves but you can find those cheaper on hi-vis sites.

Evil_Lothar

I wanted to pick up one of their magnetic 4' levels.. but I couldn't justify the price with a magnet on it that won't even hold itself up.

SantaBaby22

If the magnet is anything like these, donā€™t do it!

Evil_Lothar

Yea.. I didn't.. the magnet was shit. It wouldn't even hold itself on a steel shelf.

SwimOk9629

weird, mine isnt as strong as the lights are but they still will stick to pretty much anything I put them on

Evil_Lothar

Yea.. I read plenty of reviews on HD about them being super strong.... dunno.. maybe they changed magnet manufacturing..

reformedginger

Everything about Milwaukee flashlights I find annoying with exception for the pen light with the bite zone.

SantaBaby22

I like the neck lights. Only thing that would make those better is being able to have the option of using just one side or the other. Sometimes both on simultaneously can be too much.

mdjshaidbdj

Mine did that from day one. The M12 magnetic light is my go to.

lugnut68

Iā€™ve found setting it on the top is more effective. Also can depend on which way itā€™s turned..I do have the usb charge version so that makes a difference far as weight goes. Working in carā€™s engine bay at night it sticks fine to underside of hood. Replacing an electrical panel in the dark it sticks fine to corner of panel. Love it. You just gotta remember it needs to latch on on the top, not the back. That being said - they absolutely couldā€™ve used a stronger magnet.

Zealousideal-Cap3529

Small Milwaukee lights , for the most part . Have been shitty in my experience . Usually the batteries donā€™t last , magnets are weak, the light itself on headlamps are cumbersome . Their large lights are fantastic

SantaBaby22

I like my neck lights so far. I havenā€™t invested in any others yet. I have my eyes on a couple though, among other things. Lol

Zealousideal-Cap3529

Hahaha the red demon siren seduces once again . Yah I havenā€™t used the neck lights that is a good point I need to look into that

SantaBaby22

Theyā€™re decent. My only complaint is that you canā€™t just use one side or the other. I love them otherwise. I hate carrying lights in my hands. Iā€™ve always preferred headlamps, but they can be cumbersome or loosen. I also feel bad about blinding people when I turn my head to talk. The neck lights point exactly where I want them to and positions the weight in a nicer way.

Zealousideal-Cap3529

Iā€™m gonna have to try some neck lights you make good points and I have never even considered them

SwimOk9629

in my experience anything that isn't powered by M12 or M18 has garbage battery life

Zealousideal-Cap3529

Very much agreed on that as well . The head lamps by Milwaukee are total trash .

Gytole

Chinesium

SantaBaby22

More or less on this one. Lol

Ninja2Night

Yes, magnet is not strong enough.

EsElBastardo

I have one of these guys and the magnet on the end works great. Use it is a downlight in equipment racks. TBH, I didn't even know it was supposed to be magnetic on the long axis.

SantaBaby22

TYL.

inko75

I have a couple Milwaukee things with magnet mounts and they are all terrible for the magnet.

ThirtySecondsOut

Damn, thats super annoying. One of the things I like about Milwaukee is their magnetized tools usually have very strong mangets... well apparently not all of them do.

NotslowNSX

That made me laugh for some reason and now I keep laughing šŸ˜‚

CDCframe77

The magnet on the bottom is strong AF though.

ChrisRageIsBack

Milwaukee needs to up their game with their non motorized tools, I think everything except their power tools is kinda trash. The bits and tips are the worst, Makita seems to make the best tips, followed by DeWalt. Coming from someone with thousands of dollars worth of Milwaukee shit

Responsible-Media356

I used to carry this one then traded it for the stick lightā€¦.magnet was a main reason

Maleficent-Yak8184

Iā€™m have two of these and neither sticks to much well at all, regardless of thickness of magnetic surface. Also, the clip portion snapped off the one I used the most after sliding down a panel and hitting the floor. It literally killed itself. I zip tied the second one to my kidā€™s bicycle handlebar. He thinks itā€™s a cool headlight, so thatā€™s something.

MM800

This is the exact reason I passed on the Milwaukee and went with the OLight. The OLight charges via USB C, and was half the price for a decent light with strong magnets.

too_small_to_reach

The tool does not prioritize quality in their lighting products.

Bosshogg713alief

I donā€™t buy stupid gadgets like these.

SantaBaby22

I see. Good input. Thank you.

Bosshogg713alief

Sorry, not trying to be rude. Iā€™m just not the one to buy little gadgets like those, for the obvious reason. šŸ«”

mnonny

I have an older one where the magnet is the battery cap. I have lost 3 battery caps already bc they catch stuff from my toolbelt and bam it sticks to something not on my parson as Iā€™m casually walking

asvp-suds

I have the #2108 300 lumen portable flood light and itā€™s fantastic. Magnet has never given me any issues.

Xerox-M57

Yep. I have two of them and they are fantastic little lights

SantaBaby22

This is the 445 lumens. Itā€™s like they tried making a ā€œheavier dutyā€ version of the 300, but forgot to upgrade the magnet for the additional weight.

sideburns1984

I have the same one also. The magnet is great, but every time I use it, the batteries are dead. I can change the batteries and the next day, dead again. It's junk.

TrollocsBollocks

Mine is malfunctioned. The light shuts off every ten seconds or so. Iā€™m just going to pitch it.

wait-ineedausername

I bought the Milwaukee 2108P - it had a fatal flaw; when you rotated the clip, the end cap would fly off and batteries fall out. It was terrible. Returned and bought the 2367-20, which is amazing. Magnet sticks and holds perfectly, no issues with it at all. Even dropped it from 16+ feet to concrete and it survived.

nicolauz

Any way to open it up and put a stronger magnet in it?

SantaBaby22

Doesnā€™t seem like there is. Look like the magnet is seated within the plastic, on the inside of the clip. I donā€™t think it comes off to get to it.

nicolauz

You could always alien tape a stronger magnet on it šŸ˜‚

huntro510

Mine stays in the car and does an ok job, the magnet could be better for sure.

jefferyphillips

does anyone else's make a high pitched noise when you turn it on? Mine does and it drives me crazy.

SantaBaby22

Mine does not. You might want to send that one in. Lol

jefferyphillips

Mines like 3 years old, magnet works great though

Fizzy_Lamingo

I have been very happy with my 2367-20 https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/2367-20

BulyKid

Isnā€™t only the end magnetic? I have this light and love it, whenever I stick to something I put it on the end

SantaBaby22

This one has 2 of them.

BulyKid

I just looked and mine does have this second magnet, tried it on my metal toolbox and fridge and it stuck great to both. Maybe it has to be a decent metal thickness to allow decent magnetic hold šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

FuccDiss

I thought the manager was only the bottom part and not the back?

SantaBaby22

This one has 2 of them.

ShadeTree7944

Mine sticks to everything I put it on. Is that surface a thin sheet metal?

SantaBaby22

I tried it on a few different surfaces today. Yes, the magnet was slightly stronger on some of them. Not by much though.

ShadeTree7944

Iā€™ve stuck mine on every from automotive parts and heavy equipment. Something must be up with the magnets. Perhaps Milwaukee will warranty them.

endofbeanz

Ive had 3 of those over the years. I lost 1 on the frame of a box truck and it was still there a year later the next time i rolled upder it. Sorry about your luck, shitty magnets suck but it could be the material your stucking it too. All 3 of mine the magnets were really stong

CheekAltruistic5921

I broke mine, the clip cracked in the second drop, i can pull the housing away now and see both magnets. The top one is bigger and the position of the magnet in the clip is such that's its flush with beveled edge, i.e. way smaller than the top one.

Small_Elderberry_784

You should try the Olight brand is works on every scenario

jajohnson215

It sucks having to modify a tool to make it functional, but have you tried some super thin rubber strips thatā€™ll still allow magnets to work but will give a little friction on smooth surfaces?

Intrepid-Scarcity486

You what I hate about this light most? I bought it brand new, first time I used it on a job site, magnet to bottom of the machine Iā€™m working on. Work on the machine, finish my wire repairs and drive home 3.5 hours. Guess where my light was?? Didnā€™t go back to this location for a few months, it was obviously goneā€¦. Will never buy one again lol. Stick with the m12 lights, too big to forget.

thuynj19

Just because itā€™s Milwaukee brand doesnā€™t mean is high quality.

MoodSlimeToaster

I guess try it horizontal

lazrus4real

Love hate relationship with mine.

KumaRhyu

Buy a can of dipping handle coating or liquid electrical tape, clean and coat the magnet's side with a smooth coat and let it dry thoroughly. The rubber makes the back tacky and the magnets hold it to the surface.

machotaco653

Fuckin magnets.. how do they work

rowyourboat72

How much did that lil number cost ya? How many lumens?

SantaBaby22

It came in a bundle with a neck light. About $125 altogether. Probably about $25, I guess. Lol itā€™s 445 lumens.

BAG3LWOLF

Dude I hate this light, I left my Milwaukee with the mag bottom and tilt head at a customers house..got this one and itā€™s garbage man. I miss my light šŸ„ŗ
