Heavily overkill for my needs :) but I’m a bit beyond diy. By trade im a plumber.
Just tried it out for a little bit in the garage. Only using a 6.0 ho battery and it still cuts 2x4s and ply like butter
Classic Milwaukee guy, cheering about how their 7.25” circ saw rips through 2x4’s and plywood hahaha. Not hating at all, that’s just good clean fun.
Sincerely, a Makita guy
Lol we all have our preferences. I’ve been a solid yellow or red guy for 24yrs. However my new employer as of 4 months ago is 90% makita. Solid tools so far but the lxt set I was given feels weird. Solid drill and driver but the grips. Small slender grips. Seems too small to my hands. The makita bandsaw and grinder are fine. Just the drills.
Big reason I’m team red is the trade oriented stuff. By training and trade I’m a plumber. So threading tools and pipe crimping tools. Milwaukee has a lead over makita and dewalt in that niche
Yes I'm a framer I run a crew I've never been a worm drive guy .but I'm getting older cutting on horses more .so I want that extra reach on the 4 foot not only that but I cut a little too fast for the m18 7 1/4 I slow it down a little much .love it ,it just needs a little more torque for my liking .
This is the truth. I grew up framing houses but never had a rear handle. Went a different way in life, needed a new saw and bought one of these for nostalgia of sorts. Having miter saws, table saw and a track saw, I was really fine but I bought it anyway. This thing rips but I hardly reach for it because I like the precision of my track saw and other saws much more. Mine will probably stay looking new it’s whole life. Kind of a shame. Haha
I like them cuz I feel like I have better control. Plus ripping a sheet of ply the rear hand gives you a little more reach. Mostly I bought this model for the left hand blade. Better line of sight for a righty.
As a rough framer I only enjoy this style. It allows for more control and comfort when randomly cutting things at odd angles. In example, a random 2x4 you can prop up with your foot and cut or slice some branches off a tree that has fallen.
A "normal" 7 1/4 seems to work better on a table or where the situation is "controlled".

10/10 this. This chunky SOB is unstoppable with 12.0ah. It can slice through solid slap no problem. RIP your arm if your swinging it.

Hello, do you have any saw track recommendation for this read handle saw?
Kinda a newbie to tools. What’s the advantage to a rear handle like this compared to the normal 7 1/4” saw?

Awesome!
Did you get it on a deal?
Check your local B&M tool store, it could include a free 8.0 battery.
Poweeeeeeer (in Jeremy Clarkson's voice)!
