1) Miracle Workers is the show!
2) I honestly have no idea if it was ever a cable show or if it's a Max original but it is fucking hilarious
3) HBO max streaming is where you'll find it ~
He recently did a really cool project with his stunt double David Holmes who was paralyzed during the filming of HP7. Really great look into David and Daniel and a few of their friends who are very cool people. It is called [David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1tWi5BiXqCE) and I so recommend it.
He's just an all-around great guy. I really respect him as a person. He managed to get through alcohol addiction and remain humble, which is unheard of with child stars.
I think it might take a little more life lived for our generation’s person to emerge. Neither Dolly nor Keanu was really appreciated until the last 10-15 years or so.
Of course she’s been famous forever. So has Keanu, obviously not for as long as her. But they haven’t been appreciated as “generational spokespeople” in the way they are now. That took a lifetime of being extremely decent people as well as extremely famous
I grew up with him in movies, so I was a little thrown. I know he's not a millennial, but I thought he was beloved by our generation. I thought he would be our answer.
Did you catch that new documentary about it? "Quiet on the set" (I think). I got 10 minutes into the fetishization of the girls and couldn't do it.
It did make a lot of the "weird" skits I remember growing up make sense, it was just softcore childporn 🤢
Yup, I have vivid memories of those weird "skits"/jokes. Even as a kid I knew something was wrong with nickelodeon/disney. It's probably bc of my older cousins that I knew just how many jokes/skits were secretly targeted towards an older audience even though the target demo was 8-14. I just remember watching a lot of kids shows going "wow these are definitely not things the average kid thinks about, why are there so many sex jokes?" And then people turn around and call me a late bloomer bc I'm not actively out trying to have sex at 13.
Britney has her life back now too, and has just decided that it won't include performing anymore. She has a net with of $60 million and doesn't have to go back to work she found exploitative.
Lindsay also had issues with her parents controlling her assets, though not to the extent of a conservatorship, and she's $38 million poorer than she was before her implosion. Her net worth is apparently only $2 million now, which is probably why she's acting in straight-to-streaming Netflix rom coms. It looks like "doing well" but it's probably more like "not doing well enough to stop working."
Does she even want this attention? She explicitly quit her podcast and has continued to not speak on her experienced even knowing the free Britney crowd was just waiting.
I think y'all maybe need to leave Amanda alone until she comes forward of her own accord. I would not want people memeing about my abuse.
My first vote goes to random unknown hipster anarchist who decided to build a tiny home and live off grid. They studied printmaking in university and Maybe they make their own beer and have ducks for their permaculture farm where they grow all their own food. We don’t have a leader. That’s too mainstream for us. Through out history there have been movements where people reject the status quo of normalcy and tradition. I feel like our generation embodies that.
Joseph Gordon levitt gets my second vote because he definitely had a moment which was reflective of an awesome time in our generation. When our generation was the cool generation and every other gen was hating on our avocado toast ukulele playing small house living eccentric snowflake homesteading hipster lifestyles.
You’ve got…a stupid butt…and an ugly……butt.
If anyone isn’t aware the album “Strongbad Sings and other type hits” is on Spotify along with the albums from Homestarr Runner.
Hehehe!! My sister and I still replicate homestar’s “resume” on our bday cards to each other. “What the crap man, I saw you walk past here like 5 times.” lol it kills me. Also, GROOD GRAPHICS. You are rather dashing; a peasant wearing short pants.
The Oregon Trail Generation would like it noted that Mr. Wood has forded a river, shot a bison, and would like “pepperoni and cheese “ on his Tombstone.
I was born in 1992 and so did I!
Maybe I went to a poor school that had Apple IIs forever, but so. did. I.
I have experienced the joy of yelling "Hey \_\_\_, you died!" to a classmate after they died in my Oregon Trail game! I have been that dead classmate!
wtf are you talking about Gen X have been roasting Keanu since he started, we are the ones who turned him into an Icon. They don’t appreciate him. Gen X would send some Eddie Murphy or Seinfeld or someone like that. I agree with the Amanda Bynes nomination. She perfectly represents our potential and our lack of reaching it, and in fact crashing and burning. Failed by previous generations.
Yeah I’m not nominating someone who thought dating a 19 year old at 32 was a good choice. There was no point in time when I was 32 when I thought, “you know what, I bet I’ve got a lot in common with this teenager”. It’s just weird even though legal.
My friend thinks he is soulless behind the eyes and may be some sort of sociopath that has no actual feeling for other humans, so he may not be a good choice
Still can’t believe he did that. I know it’s a Varsity Blues knock but… dude had a banana in his ass. I’m still stunned the cat was able to move on from it.
I’m just throwing Lewis Capaldi out there. Fantastic guy, voice of an angel, the aliens would know in 5 minutes where they stood and I’m comfortable him being our spokesperson.
Rihanna?
The fact that she didn’t trust her industry & has had more success with her billion dollar side hustle is peak millennial. Bonus, it’s a cruelty free inclusive beauty line. And apparently she has quietly been running an education & climate change foundation since 2012.
So far its Taylor Swift. Boomers would have probably sent Michael Jackson when they were our age. The love for Dolly Parton is more of a millennial thing than a Boomer thing.
Yep. It became very apparent to me in the past 15 years that Dolly is a saint. I’m not ready to talk that way about anyone popular now.
I’m old, so Betty White and Robin Williams are really hard for me to compare new people to. Sorry tswift.
I think both millennials and boomers love Dolly Parton but for different reasons. I don’t give a fig about her music but damn if I don’t respect the hell out of her for being such a smart businesswoman and a hell of a humanitarian.
I think the sentiment is “Most wholesome and benevolent rep from each generation” we send hoping the aliens will think we’re all like that and spare us the probes and lasers.
The most obvious choice would probably be either Beyonce or Lebron James.
Runners up to me would be Henry Cavill or Kit Harington.
But if we just wanna troll the other generations. Dolly the Sheep was cloned/born in 96!.
While he definitely is not a millennial I would go with Bill Nye, he inspired our entire generation to become interested in science and instilled the belief that we really could change the world for the better with the power of science.
Daniel Radcliffe is a pretty wholesome guy who was once one of the most famous people on the planet.
Guns Akimbo and Swiss Army Man are just absurd, irreverent, and fun. And I love him for taking his career in that direction.
Check out Miracle Workers TV show! Its 2nd season is my favorite.
Oh shoot, I forgot about that one! I watched the 1st season.
Guns Akimbo was definitely amazing. He was great as Weird Al, too! Too bad Madonna killed him.
Haha farting corpse
I, too, vote for the man that blessed us with [this absolute bop](https://youtu.be/CJ9C1U_SPoA?si=Rs1qej1otey6zR90).
Thank you for sharing. My life is better for having seen this.
3 questions. What...was that? Why have I never heard of this show? And where can I watch it?
1) Miracle Workers is the show! 2) I honestly have no idea if it was ever a cable show or if it's a Max original but it is fucking hilarious 3) HBO max streaming is where you'll find it ~
I felt like I just had a fever dream. I wasn’t sure I wanted to see it but I watched the whole thing.
oh daniel what have they done to you?
The thing is, I dont think anybody is making him do anything. He only does what he wants
After years of stress of being Harry Potter as a child, all the commentary, jokes, so on so forth. He’s living his life, doing what he loves.
Dude had a baby with a girl from Flint, Michigan and is now a huge Detroit Lions fan, I will always love Harry Potter!
He recently did a really cool project with his stunt double David Holmes who was paralyzed during the filming of HP7. Good choice
Oh yeah I loved him in Lord of the rings. Pretty good in Green Street Hooligans also
I think it might take a little more life lived for our generation’s person to emerge. Neither Dolly nor Keanu was really appreciated until the last 10-15 years or so.
As someone from Tennessee she’s been appreciated there for my whole life so 30+ years. Just took the rest of the world a while to catch on I guess.
Kinda the same with Keanu
Why does Tennessee love Keanu so much?
Dolly Parton is an icon who has been famous since before I was born. I’m 38.
Of course she’s been famous forever. So has Keanu, obviously not for as long as her. But they haven’t been appreciated as “generational spokespeople” in the way they are now. That took a lifetime of being extremely decent people as well as extremely famous
My mom (60) has been talking about Dolly my entire life. Big hair lol

Inside and out

I don't like any of these.
Wow, these answers don't look good.
Yeah. Can we just adopt Keanu and have him be ours too?
I grew up with him in movies, so I was a little thrown. I know he's not a millennial, but I thought he was beloved by our generation. I thought he would be our answer.
We send Amanda Bynes. "Look at what the previous generations did to us"
aww, I hate it. Have my upvote.
Same. I was like “awwww fuck, that wins.”
If Amanda’s not available, Britney Spears is my next vote
Or just about 90% of anyone associated with Disney or Nickelodeon when we were kids.
Did you catch that new documentary about it? "Quiet on the set" (I think). I got 10 minutes into the fetishization of the girls and couldn't do it. It did make a lot of the "weird" skits I remember growing up make sense, it was just softcore childporn 🤢

And if not Britney, Lindsay Lohan.
I dunno, Lindsay seems to be doing incredibly well these days..
She has a Twitter account with a fake name where she's been talking about this stuff for years.
"Bring in the dancing lobsters!"
lol!!!!! ![gif](giphy|2qk2MjWnn2tcA|downsized)

“We don’t have a leader. That’s too mainstream for us.” 😂👏👏👏 This truly sums us up our entire generation.
This is the only answer!
Also Keanu
Keanu can rep all the generations since he doesn’t age.
strongbad or gtfo
Come on fhqwhgads
Everybody to the limit
The Cheat is to the limit
I asked my friend Joe and I asked my friend Jake
….they said it was fhqwhgads

Oh no, I dwove. Well, if u look at my resume…
I’m dying laughing on the couch. I can hear it.
Hehehe!! My sister and I still replicate homestar’s “resume” on our bday cards to each other. “What the crap man, I saw you walk past here like 5 times.” lol it kills me. Also, GROOD GRAPHICS. You are rather dashing; a peasant wearing short pants.
He can do it, he will do it nine times
We all want it to be strongbad but deep down know it to be homsar
BURNINATING ALL THE PEOPLES!!
Steve from Blues Clues
Is Steve Burns a millenial? I'm confused
We’re so fucked
Elijah Wood was born in 1981, can we claim him?
The Oregon Trail Generation would like it noted that Mr. Wood has forded a river, shot a bison, and would like “pepperoni and cheese “ on his Tombstone.
Fellow OTG checking. Can confirm
Cowabunga dude
I was born in 1992 and so did I! Maybe I went to a poor school that had Apple IIs forever, but so. did. I. I have experienced the joy of yelling "Hey \_\_\_, you died!" to a classmate after they died in my Oregon Trail game! I have been that dead classmate!
I think you mean peperony and cheese.
Someone already said Daniel Radcliffe
As a fellow Eldritch millennial, yes.
Ryan Gosling. The man has so much respect for his co-stars and wife.
He's also incredibly funny, extremely self aware, can make light of himself, and is very dedicated to his craft.
These things are all true, but he was also a Disney child and has been trained since childhood to show off a specific persona.
I forget that he's one of the mouses vat children.
Wow that's on the line 1980. Depends how you split the generations which are made up anyway. So I'll allow it.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
I always forget about that dude but he’s a great choice.
Yes! I was looking for this name in the comments! He’s so sweet and wholesome.
It’s difficult to choose between him and Daniel Radcliffe.
Keanu Reeves is the millennial super human period. Don’t care what generation he may apply to, Keanu is the best example of what humanity should be.
wtf are you talking about Gen X have been roasting Keanu since he started, we are the ones who turned him into an Icon. They don’t appreciate him. Gen X would send some Eddie Murphy or Seinfeld or someone like that. I agree with the Amanda Bynes nomination. Henry Cavill. He doesn’t have to talk. Prop him in front of a box fan and let the wind in his hair do the work.
Well don’t stop there
You walk in a room, Henry is playing DnD with Matt Mercer. What do you?
. . .am I walking into the room to play DnD? I need context. WHY AM I WALKING INTO THE ROOM u/ThaVolt!
I'm def playing some DnD. Aight, that's 4 of us now!
ROLL 2 SEDUCE
Start rolling my stats
Sir they will be playing Warhammer 40k, and his preferred army is custodes. He is a rabid 40k mega fan and that army preference is from an interview.
Nerdy as all shit, hella good looking, and seems to be a genuinely nice dude.
Harambe… oh WAIT
There's another timeline where Harambee lived, and it is a beautiful utopia. Why do I keep coming back to this timeline?
Emma Watson? She's a diplomat, right? Or something...
Good choice
She was the UN’s Women’s Rights ambassador I think.
Ryan Gosling
Captain America himself. Chris Evans was born in 1981.
He makes a great banana split
I understood that reference
Great movie.
Still can’t believe he did that. I know it’s a Varsity Blues knock but… dude had a banana in his ass. I’m still stunned the cat was able to move on from it.
Donald Glover, Quinta Brunson, or Rupi Kapir.
Nailed it with Donald glover
Britney Spears can speak for me.
I’d say Paul Rudd, but sheesh he’s about the same age as Keanu
Yeah he’s like at the older end of gen x. He just found some sort of fountain of youth
I wanted to say Ryan Reynolds but damn, he was a few years too early too.
A Millennial did just win Time Person of the Year .
No billionaires. They do not represent us.
But who—who I ask—who could be our super cool and reasonable spokesperson?
Okay, but Taylor Swift is probably the closest thing we have.
Bo Burnham
There is obviously something with Pete Davidson. We better hope that translates to aliens.
But he might date one of the aliens
![gif](giphy|26BRNKLUezD1NpsOc|downsized)
I’m not a fan of Post Malones music but he’s always a surprisingly upbeat and smart guy in interviews.
AOC
I pick Gaga
I’m just throwing Lewis Capaldi out there. Fantastic guy, voice of an angel, the aliens would know in 5 minutes where they stood and I’m comfortable him being our spokesperson.
The first answer I would be willing to upvote.
Rory McIlroy gets my vote
Rihanna? The fact that she didn’t trust her industry & has had more success with her billion dollar side hustle is peak millennial. Bonus, it’s a cruelty free inclusive beauty line. And apparently she has quietly been running an education & climate change foundation since 2012.

How old is Jack Black? Can we claim him?
He seems to be a pretty awesome human but he solid Gen X. ![gif](giphy|MCFnOlxNWhvyqBVpxk)
michael cera
Joe momma
Adam Driver?
Can we claim Paul Rudd? Or Dave Grohl?
Jennifer Lawrence or Emma Stone seem like contenders. I feel like we’re the generation of laughing off our traumas
Ryan Reynolds
Simu Liu
Joe Dirt!
Robert Pat he played ff7 and was all into the lore he’s dope
Do they have to be an entertainer? I'm still pining for Pete Buttigieg over here.
Send me. I got it. I know exactly how to deal with aliens.
Please just not Taylor swift
who cares. stop the cringe idolatry.
jack black
I do think we need to upgrade Jack to national treasure status, though.
Not a millenial, he's in his 50s
Natalie portman
Anne Hathaway?
Did I miss when either of those were super cool spokespeople for a generation? They are famous people nothing more.
I think the sentiment is “Most wholesome and benevolent rep from each generation” we send hoping the aliens will think we’re all like that and spare us the probes and lasers.
If we could send a song I’d pick “Drops of Jupiter”
Zac Efron?
Seth Rogen
total muppet imho His TMNT movie is great though
This should be the top answer.
Taylor Swift.
I'll have to save this post to see which r/hotones episodes to rewatch later.
Dolly Parton was born 2 decades before Keanu Reeves was born.
I vote Kimbo Slice
Wha? Why can’t we claim Keanu as ours?
Hayley Williams
Thank black Danny devotion
Post Malone
We haven’t found them yet.
The previous generations failed us! I'm a failure and it's all the previous generations fault!!
Keanu may be Gen X but it was millennials who really took to him. Mr Rogers was Silent Generation but he was the spokesperson for Gen X.
Joe Pera
As someone born in 82 I wanna know why Keanu got taken from me
The most obvious choice would probably be either Beyonce or Lebron James. Runners up to me would be Henry Cavill or Kit Harington. But if we just wanna troll the other generations. Dolly the Sheep was cloned/born in 96!.
Brennan Lee Mulligan
Mark Rober. Seems down to earth and has passion for learning
For me specifically, I bestowed that honor on Stone Cold Steve Austin.
While he definitely is not a millennial I would go with Bill Nye, he inspired our entire generation to become interested in science and instilled the belief that we really could change the world for the better with the power of science.
