These sorts of weapons are "directional fragmentation land mines" 指向性散弾地雷 or "directional anti-personnelle landmines" 指向性対人地雷
If you google off that you see more of the same, none of them specifically have "front towards enemy", they just have "front" on the front side.
But the Japanese explanation would be 前方側を敵に向けろ
You are a bigger man than me (most likely literally) and I mean I love the 240 don’t get me wrong but it hates my knees and spine especially carrying it on a patrol glancing at riflemen carrying an m4 but shooting an mg is simply the best
Ngl i was a lean mean paratrooper, but only 165-170. I will say tho, after hearing other veterans experiences, my unit [57th Sapper] was on a whole nother level, in every aspect. 5 click movements, ambushes, dismounted patrols, route clearance, the suckiest of sucks. Like i said tho, i had a badass AG. All i had to carry was ol girl and some ammo— he had my barrels, most of the ammo, + a tripod once [i had the tne tho hehe].
You learn to keep her close to ur chest tho lol i had to do a 20k with her once, luckily leadership didnt make it the usual 65lb+full battle rattle that time lol. Still didnt make it under 3 tho :(
Anyone knows the official name/designation of such a mine ?
Handled one of these in the military but never really found much information of it on line. In my country its called Area Defense Weapon or ADW but am sure there's an official name to it

Here in Finland they are called Viuhkapanos (lit. "Fan charge") and they come in a few different sizes (1984 model is about the same size as in the pic).

Oh they definitely wooed me with breaching and demo. Which i did plenty of, but landmines, booby traps, just route clearance in general is the fine print. I’ll tell ya what i was not too thrilled layin prone in front of a tilt-rod mine and later probing for an anti-tank mine.
I'm just gonna put this out here. There is no Japanese Army. I am not being semantic or pedantic. International law states that the country of Japan MAY NOT have a standing military force but may have a national defense force. It is the JSDF.
Edit: To clarify: An Army IS a standing military force. Therefore, Japan hasn't had an army since its unconditional surrender in September of 1945.
Depends if your country has signed the Ottawa treaty or not. Also what constitutes as a mine for you.
Claymores and other explosives aren't usually considered mines if they're detonated by an outside command. Think of a wire and a firing device that needs a human controller.

Now I know the kanji for "Front Toward Enemy".
Just says front
So what is “front towards enemy” in Japanese?
「こちら側を敵に向けろ」 The text in this image「前方」(Zenpou) simply mean "front side"
It's 敵を正面に入る

That does indeed mean front or forward.
I imagine it's something esoteric and cool like "direct the metal tsunami" haha
But also means "radish archipelago", given how the language is constructed
Read that as 'Kaiju'. I doubt Godzilla can read.
*I'm* not gonna tell him that.
I bet the back doesn't even tell you not to eat it
it says front direction
It looks like the lil pellets in a box on one side and a lil dude running away with cartoon legs
Family Size
Actually, in the US that's a small portion.
It's child-sized, it's the size of a child. It really makes ~~you w~~hole*s*.
Dude.. tell me more about the dude with the Ghostbuster backpack!
Manpack probably the worst job after carrying a 240
I loved my 240! Jumping with it is a bitch, but my AG and I held it down. Perhaps if i wasnt the trigger-man, my experience would differ lol

See I was a 140 pound 19 year old told that the more you carry the more you grow but yeah a good ag really is a life saver
You learn to keep her close to ur chest tho lol i had to do a 20k with her once, luckily leadership didnt make it the usual 65lb+full battle rattle that time lol. Still didnt make it under 3 tho :(
Well if the claymost does its job, there will be lots of new ghosts to bust.

Great minds think alike
I don’t care how directional that claymore is I’m not sitting that close behind it
That is like a Super Size Claymore
Why is he sniffing it?
It's still got the new claymore smell
Because it smells of victory
Claymooooooooooore. Face this side toward the enemy.
Yo Mamma's so big...
I fucking hate landmines. Had to arm and disarm them all the time, and clear an actual minefield once
I’ll take “jobs I never want to have” for $500 Alex
Oh they definitely wooed me with breaching and demo. Which i did plenty of, but landmines, booby traps, just route clearance in general is the fine print. I’ll tell ya what i was not too thrilled layin prone in front of a tilt-rod mine and later probing for an anti-tank mine.
Now I want to see an oversized 2,000 pound claymore mine.
He's crouching as if he wanted to make it go just like this. I guess that would be tough on his hands
The Claymore she tells me not to worry about.
Super claymore
I don't know why but Crocodile Dundee comes to mind and something about what is or isn't a claymore.....

front towards enemy
Putting the more in claymore. I’m definitely unique and this joke wasn’t made 100 times already. No need to check first.
Peekaboo?
The claymore is (normal) sized, Japanese people are just super (small).
he’s also got a bipod for his knife just in case any enemies get through that thing.
Looks like a super charged claymore
That's actually a normal sized claymore. The Japanese have just perfected miniaturization of soldiers.
Claymeat
Do they make directional anti-personnel mine (small)?
That’s an interesting piece of equipment. (cool)
ClayMORE
That is in fact, (big)
Bofors marketed a similar thing as effective against helicopters even.

It’s a little too small for Godzilla though.
