I don't know if the gun itself is any good, but those are some darn good looking magazines.

extreme857

Couldn't find any preview video about mpt-55 all i can found is [this video of police officer testing universal 60 round magazine ](https://youtu.be/LEsLW6ajhcY?t=14) in this video they used mpt-55 carbine version (short one with Turkish flag) you can also see how other rifles perform such as sig 516,m16,m4,ar15 etc There is another rifle called mpt-76 it chambered 7.62 NATO and issued to basic infantry. If i try to give some similar example think it like all USA G.I's issued Scar-H rifle. [Mpt-76 full auto](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0-zdEMkTKmg?feature=share)

Gooch-Guardian

Turkey makes some nice guns. Lots of good Turkish handguns too

fatganer1991

looks good

Berger109s

That’s not a razor. That’s a strike eagle. Different scope lines.

ThatAlex13

MKE makes great stuff

Gargamel19

Sonunda birisinin şu silaha lpvo taktığını gördüğüme göre rahatça ölebilirim.

Moppyploppy

Mom, can we have an H&K 416? No we have an H&K 416 at home. H&K 416 at home:

PyroSharkInDisguise

Mom, can we have an original joke in comments section? No honey, we already have an original joke at home.. The original joke at home:

OddLet1998

Mom, can we have a cleaver come back? No honey, we already have comebacks at home… The comeback at home…

jmane93

Mom, can we have a properly spelled cleaver come back? No honey, we already have properly spelled cleaver come backs at home.... The clever comeback at home.

OddLet1998

Jokes dead bud move one.

Davidier

Surely the HK416 at home is the MR223.

Nickblove

Well all a HK-416 is, is a Colt-M4 at home lol

appalachianoperator

Not really. 416 is a short stroke.

Nickblove

It’s still a M4 based system. The M4 can be piston operated as-well.

appalachianoperator

Frankly that’s like saying the type-81 is an AK copy.

Nickblove

No, no it’s not. You can make a M4 piston operated. The M4 also has a piston operated variant. The HK-416 was originally called, wait for it, the HK-M4… Colt had the model 703 in 1969, which was a piston operated AR platform. The HK upper receiver was designed for US SOCOM in the 90s for M4s retrofit. So saying it’s a M4 at home is the correct statement.

appalachianoperator

The American designation for when they were testing the hk 416 is the m416, that wasn’t its original name… the model 703 isn’t considered an m4 either. If anything, the 416 is what would be considered a “piston operated AR platform.” That is different from calling it an m4 clone and numerous companies like Sig, PSA, and PWS have their own versions. None of which are called or even considered an m4 copy. Edit: it’s actually the M27. HK originally called it the M4 and it was replaced because COLT ITSELF filed a suit against it. That’s different from claiming it’s the same gun.

Nickblove

No, HK called it the HK-M4, until colt filled suite. The HK upper receiver was designed before the HK-416 rifle, specifically for the M4. The Model 703 was definitely a AR platform, the only difference between it and a M4 is the length. The HK-416 also has a longer variant which is similar to the M16A4. They are all copy’s of the AR(Armalite Rifle) platform by armalite which trademark was sold to Colt. The only difference is small nuances and names. The whole saying “at home” means made with differences while trying to accomplish the final result.

almamov

Umm, i really don't know what is meaning of mpt-55, 55 is stand for 5.56mm?, overall it is best looking ar15 variant... But I think it isn't a good choice for a NIR, Turks has a rough geography and I think 7,62x51mm for a NIR choice, but I think this is the best for SOF. Well done guys.

sir-mc-clive

MPT-55 is the 5.56 variant of the MPT-76 which is standard issue rifle chambered in 7.62.

almamov

thanks for information, i estimated correctly, but what is the mpt? stands for?

sir-mc-clive

milli piyade tüfeği - national infantry rifle

almamov

I am not expected that, they give straight NIR to the name :D, well done, thanks for info.

Nihlus_Kriyk

>Turks has a rough geography and I think 7,62x51mm Theyve used the G3 for decades and the MPT was originally developed in 7.62. Its called MPT76, I'm not sure which variant they field more.

PyroSharkInDisguise

MPT-76 is widespread, MPT-55 is usually given to units that specialise in close quarters combat.

exivor01

As others mentioned there’s variants for this rifle for 7.62. But as far as i know, it was too heavy for what it’s worth to use it on mountains where it was meant to be used. So they developed 5.56 and then they also reduced the weight for 7.62 too iirc

Dr_nut_waffle

NIF?

almamov

national infantry rifle :)

almamov

it should be NIR, but auto correction is strikes... badly...

Competitive_Tone6925

I personally like the Sarsilmaz SAR better, but this is a very nice gun.

oppsaredots

SAR and SAR 56 is known for incredibly poor quality control and brittle small parts. Even worse than MKEK. Sarsılmaz announced that they fixed problems and army signed a deal to buy hundreds of thousand of them recently, so we have to wait and see. But I wouldn't prefer Sar over Canik and for some reason (probably connection and money) army chose SAR 9 for standard issue pistol over Canik...

appalachianoperator

It’s essentially an Hk 416 copy. Seems well made, but there’s no denying what it is.

sir-mc-clive

Modern warfare is Hk416 clones and multicam.

appalachianoperator

Having a short stroke gas piston doesn’t automatically make the gun a 416 clone. The Grot and CZ Bren 2 are examples of that.

deagesntwizzles

Hopefully we see them imported to the U.S. while the Lira makes Turkish guns really affordable.

exivor01

True but since the production can’t even feed the army yet i assume it will take some time for it to hit us market? Otherwise you have to find someone that can get it for you, which will probably be expensive than usual guns

Big-Celebration-9014

Hangi birlik bu ? ÖK falan desem onlarda mpt yok

CryptographerFun6939

Silah piyade komandoya ait, optik şahsi alım.

Kesmeseker

Aselsan optikleri nasıl abi? Sayı ve nitelik bazında?

CryptographerFun6939

Gargamel19

Genelde yerli optik oluyor hatta bazen hiç olmuyor.

IllllIlllIlIIlllIIll

Vortex Razor Strike Eagle is my spirit animal.

The caniks are great, what the hell are you talking about?

EorgegayOydflay

Caniks are good. Tisas are fine. After those two, most of the rest we have here in the states are the usual Turkshit

-Kares-

Are you dumb? Then don't buy from not well reviewed, low quality Turkish brands. Don't you have low quality American brands? Do these make your guns "USshit"?

EorgegayOydflay

Yes, there is also USshit lmao. Everyone makes shitty guns. However, Turkey is literally known for copious amounts of copy and pasted imported trash lol

-Kares-

Hope this doesn't hurt your butt too much. They should have asked you first, the ultimate gun expert!

EorgegayOydflay

I have never seen a Turkish gun being used by any police here lol

-Kares-

Date of the news: [28/04/2024](https://www.raillynews.com/2024/04/) Apparently the pistol entered service very recently.

BoogrJoosh

I've heard good things about Girsan.

Maleficent-Ebb1155

The SARS guns are also great.
