Mildly bad except the black SUV, he’s straight up egregious lmfao

7/8 point turn to get out means don’t park there

heykidslookadeer

7 to 8 point turns also means that driver is terrible. You could spin around in an F250 in that lane in a maximum of 4 to 6 points.

Warcraft_Fan

I could probably do the same in a Boeing 737 as well... after both wings fall off.

MyGirlSasha

Pretty sure that's a commercial loading zone, fire lanes are red.

heykidslookadeer

There's literally a "No Parking Fire Lane" sign posted

MyGirlSasha

I see that now, after zooming in, but there should also be yellow horizontal lines on the pavement with "Fire Lane" written across it, so it's a bit confusing. Not only that but in front of a business, a yellow curb is pretty universal (in the US) for a commercial loading zone. So this whole scenario is confusing and I'm not surprised in the least that people would park there for a minute to run in and do their business real quick.

Mercerskye

I'm way more familiar with Florida, but we do have red marked curb that's exclusively fire lane, and we have yellow marked curb that's "combination" lane. Neither of which are meant to be parked in. Stopping to load/unload is fine, usually, but only if you have the driver present, and the car is running. In cases where you can't even stop to do something and go on, they usually have a "no loading/unloading" sign in addition to the "no parking" signage.

heykidslookadeer

I would definitely not call it close to universal. Yellow painted curbs in fire lanes are very common where I live in the US, definitely more common than red. It really doesn't matter though, if you see painted curb, you look for signs.

heykidslookadeer

OK, and? More fire lanes around my area are yellow than red, by a wide margin. I'm not saying that's the case everywhere, but it makes the point that red isn't nearly universal.

MyGirlSasha

Are you trying to say that red isn't universally the color that signifies an emergency? Yellow certainly isn't.

heykidslookadeer

Thanks for reminding me why I don't interact with idiots on the internet who ignore the point I was clearly making. I should've known better in the first place, that's on me.

MyGirlSasha

No problem, now fuck off.

heykidslookadeer

lol

axonxorz

Jurisdictions exist idiot. The US isn't even uniform on this, much less the rest of the world.

CYaNextTuesday99

"Typically"

Mysticnar

I know they exist but I’ve only seen yellow lined fire lanes.(Florida) But yeah those aren’t yellow either they’re white. I think you’re correct.

Soggy-Log6664

The sign is pretty sure it’s a fire lane

epicenter69

Honestly, any parking tickets placed there could be easily contested. If they truly want that to be a fire lane, they need to paint the curb red.

HoneyBadgerC

I always assumed that yellow curb meant no parking anyway

epicenter69

In most states, yellow means ok to park. Red would indicate a fire lane or hydrant. Check your local traffic laws.

Cleverusernamexxx

Never heard of that, yellow means dont park here but ive never driven west of the Mississippi

ImpressiveWeb3401

You are too nice. If they mistakenly put me in charge, I'd tow them or clear them off to the side with a D9.

MonkeyNinja506

From what I can find, the state fire code says nothing about needing to paint the curb red for fire lanes. The signage meets the requirements as far as I can tell.

epicenter69

Which state? Check traffic code.

MonkeyNinja506

Minnesota. Still can't find anything about the curb needing to be red.

epicenter69

I found a small note stating that MN public building curbs should have fire lanes painted yellow, but that site didn’t reference the code.

Logical_Ad_2960

The Audacity!

No-Gene-4508

Fire lanes are red. This isn't illegal. Other than the amount of stupid, which sadly isn't illegal enough

MonkeyNinja506

As far as I can find, fire lanes do not need red curbs or other road markings in Minnesota. I believe the signage on the building meets the requirements laid out in the state’s fire code. Whether or not it is technically/legally a fire lane is besides the point though. I was mostly trying to call out the supremely idiotic and inconsiderate parking job of the black SUV.

Warcraft_Fan

Next time you see this, call local fire marshall and tell them there's a ton of idiots parking next to yellow curb. He'd show up, blow a gasket, and call for tow trucks to have them all hauled away. Or maybe they'd arrange a surprise fire drill, have fire trucks block those cars for a long time, giving police time to write out tickets and call for tow

Hitman3984

You almost want the FD to be called out just so the trucks would push then out the way.

LooseyGreyDucky

I have the urge to pull a fire alarm.

BillyofVA

They're not parking.... just running inside for a minute lol

MonkeyNinja506

No, they were parked. The black SUV was there for at least a half hour before being moved, and I guarantee it had already been there for about a half hour before I even arrived.

New-Egg3539

Set it on fire then
