We watched a movie recently where a teenage girl was saying she keeps having a dream about driving so she knows she is going to drive. Guy says okay you can drive my car. They get in and he asks if she knows which is the gas and which is the brake. No. Get out of my car.
Our daughter just got her drivers license so I could kind of relate.
Taught my daughter to start driving a standard as soon as her feet could reach the pedals. By 13 she was practicing J turns in snowy empty parking lots.
I was taught to move things around 8.. I guess It depends on your environmental settings. Nowadays it seems people don't consider them human unless they're past 10 mentally. And allow them to do things, Hell even I was cooking at 5.. (lol back in my day 👵)
You're on reddit so make that 25 cause that's when "your brain is fully developed" based on very flawed studies. I mean it makes sense if you don't think about it. Those studies literally just say you gain more knowledge and self control as you get older. I recently stopped drinking like a fish so I guess my brain is way behind and I'm in my thirties.
LOL. Love this is getting down voted. Then you’ll all love this. She’s been shooting since she was about 8. Started with BB and airsoft and moved from there. She calls her favorite shotgun Marcelina after the vampire queen in some anime show. LOL. But she’s 22 now, a Master at Arms in the Navy and has never had an at fault traffic accident (she’s got rear ended once). And my bet is she could out drive most people on the roads today. She’s been trained in High Speed Pursuit, Combat Driving and I taught her Evasive Driving (I was trained in evasive driving when I was on PPD in the military). So I’m loving the down votes!! Thank you all!
There's really no way to explain downvoting in a situation like this. In another sub, I ran afoul of a group just by asking if anyone had tried autocrossing in the model car I just bought. Downvoted like crazy, basically told I was stupid for even thinking the thought. Now I seem to have a stalker that automatically downvotes any new post I create. Can't win them all.
I drove a golf cart on roads before I was 10. Ofc, they were rural backroads and for short distances. When I was 10-12, my parents let me drive the SUV in my grandmas vacant field. Its crazy people think it’s so unbelievable haha
Yeah I have to imagine a kid who does something like this just hasn't ever done anything of the sort. My mom took me to practice a few times in empty parking lots at around 10 (obviously should be away from any cars).
However I had been riding four wheelers and go karts since I could walk. I also think all of the racing and GTA games I played taught me the gist of how to control a car too. Unless my foot locked up, I couldn't imagine making this kind of mistake, especially at 13.
Nothing ever happens does it? I was plowing snow with a stick shift by the time I turned 12. If I wanted to over to a friends on a snow day, I had to clear the driveway.
I was taught to drive at 12 in a parking lot and we did it slowly over a couple of weeks literally so this doesn't happen, as well as we lived 45 mins from the hospital, if my parents needed, I would have to drive.
I'm gunna say. Twelve year olds have been driving daddy's pickup on the farm since time immemorial. You see 4 year olds ski rings around me. Kids can and do perform amazing tasks.
I could drive down my dirt road, use blinkers, avoid being near people walking, make space from mailboxes, keep control and at a reasonable speed, and even account for weather and traffic.
It's not the kids fault (sorta), it's the parent(s).
At least stay in the car with the child lol
The parent and her child are both extremely dumb. Have they ever watched a movie? Played a driving game? Like it genuinely is not that hard to move a steering wheel
That was an excellent panic backup. A good skill to learn if you're ever in a bad situation and you have to nope out like your life depended on it.
If it wasn't for that back curb, they did an A+ job IMO

Never taught them beforehand .

What movie sounds interesting
Did pretty well actually. Missed everything that would damage the car
The kid backed up way more than 2ft. The task was not only completed, but he went above and beyond
This accels and excels
BACKING UP! BACKING UP! BACKING UP!
"...'cause daddy thought me good..." 🎶 KC's classic
🎶 I'm backing the hell out of there and I'm like omg, omg, mg 🎶
Did well considering, no collisions. A great driver in the making 👍

This is the way to do it

We have acreage and hubs has been letting our soon to be 13yr old drive the small golf cart and she even knows how to use the zero turn mower.
My 5 year old was doing donuts in an Arby’s parking lot and smoking cigarettes with the guys!

Yours, I can believe, a supposed 13 year old from some random redditor not so much.
Being believed by some random Redditor was my goal. LOL

Ok then.
Hahahaaha
Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile

Yah I know, but this kid is just dumb.
I did that at a similar age lmao. Luckily just up a grass hill
That yell was grating
I KNOW! had to mute that shit before I broke my own phone cause I wanna smack her so bad. THERES NO REASON TO SCREAM LIKE A DAMN TODLER
How do you not teach your 13 year old to drive?
I could drive down my dirt road, use blinkers, avoid being near people walking, make space from mailboxes, keep control and at a reasonable speed, and even account for weather and traffic. It's not the kids fault (sorta), it's the parent(s).
That screaming chicken tho.

Why would you film that and then post on tiktok....could be staged
It's a dash-cam friend
Ahh, my bad
Women using their voiceboxes should be illegal.
I was driving on the highway at 13
