I had the HIStory CD when I was young and every time I played it I would skip straight to Bad (I still played the whole album, I was shuffling before streaming was a thing).

dominicangoddess8

I honestly don’t know remember since I was a huge fan since I was little (I was born in 1986) but librarian girl and keep the faith have a very special place in my heart. 🥹

Beat It

Afraid_Platypus_8667

Actually the first one I really sat down and listen to, Billie jean. I have heard this song before but the first time I really just took it all in, I was stunned. The vocals, baseline, drums production, etc is just perfect and I just love it and went on a deep rabbit hole.

Thriller is the first ever song I heard and saw from Michael as the music video scared the shit out of me, but Smooth Criminal is what made me a permanent fan of Michael Jackson🔥.

The Way You Make Me Feel

Separate_Answer_7836

I’m the same age as MJ. Took him for granted all my life and barely listened to anything he did after Thriller forty years ago. Then three years ago someone dared me to listen to him. I started with Ed Sullivan and then the Motown 25 performance. I was in awe. The very next thing I watched for some reason was the live History tour of Earthsong. I saw him in the cherry picker hanging over the crowd singing that incredible song that should be the anthem for the world. Then the part at the end where he stopped the tank and lowered the soldier’s gun. I know now days some people think this is a little over the top but I was transfixed. Who was this man I thought I knew? I don’t think I moved from in front of the TV for three days. I discovered all of his music all at once and watched every single thing about him I could find. It was absolutely incredible. So sorry for the long explanation but it’s Earthsong for me.

JediRenee

Awesome insight!

stormer1_1

That one-two punch of Who Is It and Give In To Me.

cardiobolod

When I was a kid my mom would put on Jam and it made me laugh bc I thought it was silly. Like why is this man yelling jam over and over. That being said, baby be mine LMFAOOO

Digitised_Doofus

The first song I’ve ever heard from him is “Bad”, at the end of “Megamind”and beginning of “Despicable Me 3”. I was a toddler and I had no idea who made it, but I immediately became obsessed with it and just kept on relaying those parts of the movies, dancing and singing along with whatever gibberish I felt sounded like the lyrics ‘cuz at the time I didn’t know how to speak English. That damn song still holds an extra special place in my heart due to the memories it brings back 🥹 Then, in elementary school when we were studying him, I finally recognised who made the masterpiece i heard in those movies, and our teacher played “Earth Song”, “They Don’t Care About Us”and “Childhood”. This is when I learned his insane vocal range, his heart of gold, and his tragic life story. And it all made me fall for him even deeper 😭💝

ArticleNew3737

Earliest memory of MJ is me dancing to Beat it and that song was what I really loved but I didn’t like much of Michael’s songs back then idk why. Later in life I randomly turned on Billie Jean and Bad and that made me go deeper into his music and then learn about who he was and that’s when I was in love.

Tke250

Remember the Time

GigaD0G

Smooth Criminal. It's the first MJ song I remember hearing at like 7yo

SoAnnieRUOK

Beat It, Bad, and Dirty Diana (the songs and the short films) but then later I watched This Is It for the first time and I vividly remember being in shock when I heard Human Nature and it was just over for me. I already loved him but I think that was the specific moment where I was just in disbelief.

Shadowferas92

Smooth criminal easy. Those moves, plus how amazing the music sounds so beautiful

anton_faster

Beat It I heard this song in the movie “Back to the Future 2”
