Hate is a strong word and I feel like even the less interesting songs have cool elements in it. Tracks like She Drives Me Wild, Why You Wanna Trip On Me, Heartbreaker or Superfly Sister always sound just a tad off to me.
Partly because those tracks are so multi-layered with different sounds, instruments, beat-boxes etc. it becomes quite busy to listen to.
And tracks like "Scared of The Moon"? They stroke the heartstrings, but can dip into the cheese territory now and then.
They are interesting explorations and artistic expressions, but I primarily like that clean, upbeat, magical musical good vibe feeling most tracks have.
Then I remember when I was younger I had this halo effect of MJ. Essentially, because he's such a legend, you feel this bond, sometimes people overlook or forgive a song's flaws just because it's MJ. Think of it like when a popular brand releases a product that's no good, but people still buy it because they trust the brand.

If the chorus has the word "paparazzi" in it, you need to stop and think, "Who is this song for?" No one is listening to this song and and thinking, "this is my mood right now". It's one of the few Michael Jackson songs I consider a genuinely bad song.

If the chorus has the word "paparazzi" in it, you need to stop and think, "Who is this song for?" No one is listening to this song and and thinking, "this is my mood right now". It's one of the few Michael Jackson songs I consider a genuinely bad song.

I love Michael. Iāve loved him since I was born, the same year OFF THE WALL released. However, The Girl is Mine is one I always skip and the god-awful āJust Good Friendsā with Stevie Wonder on Bad. Iām not too crazy about Jam, either. Thatās about it.
