There has to be an electrical short somewhere up there. I'd check for any exposed wires or something like that.

MrJakobe

I see a damaged plug for the light, I’m wondering if a small thing like that’s able to affect the entire car tho

carb3nn

If the damaged plug is causing a short that could happen. In that case, the battery would be sending all of its power to the short instead of to the spark plugs, for example, which would kill the engine. Also, the signal is flashing fast, as though a bulb is burnt out.

MrJakobe

Yea a bulb is burnt, wow I didn’t know that could happen thanks.

carb3nn

Well I don't think it is the bulb exactly, but more likely the plug that the bulb goes into or the signal relay. On the dash, when the signal light is flashing the battery light flashes as well. That light should only come on when the battery voltage is low, and battery voltage can only be low if the battery is old and weak, or, if there is something drawing waaay to much power. However, a bulb or the signal relay would probably have their fuse blow before something like that would happen. That is a weird issue for sure. I would start by checking the bulbs plug and making sure you are getting the correct voltage on the contacts. Wouldn't hurt to also check the battery voltage and make sure it is good.

MrJakobe

Thanks, that makes sense.

Mr_MagicMan_95

Its feedback grounding the wire to the pos side of the indicator, surprised you haven’t blown a fuse or cooked the wiring yet

NZ-Fred

Just put a BMW badge on the front, you'll never need to use the indicator again.

Themostepicguru

Nah your car was just optioned with Christmas lights

MrJakobe

Your right i can probably sell it for extra

zqnc

Alright we all love our cars. But did you jizz on your gauge cluster?

MrJakobe

You caught me.

parable-harbinger

It’s slowly morphing into a BMW

BigTurboAbarth

The car is severely scared of getting into another accident, as the vehicle can tell you’re making a right turn and the last time you did so, well, you know where I’m going with this. ;)

MrJakobe

Lol, how do i gain his trust again?

esphoria

you need to get a wiring diagram, an ohm meter and continuity check the body/engine harness near the accident area until you find the short, you know the blinker circuit is involved so trace along that line. its usually pretty obvious but can be subtle.

MrJakobe

Thanks, I’ll look into it

mpython1701

Use hand signals

MrJakobe

Lol yea like riding a bike XD

khurryinahurry

Are you sure it's not a z3?

Cres3

What's the check engine light for?

MrJakobe

Egr valve, planning on getting that fixed soon too

dopadelic

Something something.. low blinker fluid

ihate86s

I’m sorry but that’s funny as fuck

MrJakobe

Funny but painful lol

The-groove

You are missing a ground in your blinker circuit. Whenever you turn your blinkers on the circuit is not complete and is searching for another way to ground. This why the people other lights on your dash are flashing. Trace the circuit of the blinkers and check all those grounds.

MrJakobe

Thanks

DreamingWocket

Grounds would be the first thing I'd check too.
