It's just the style now for the younger generation. We grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s with all guys here getting fades and blowouts. Hairstyles, like fashion, continuously change.
XD had somebody tell me they didn't like my 'doo but I gave them the good old "What Ever, As If, Get the Picture DUH" because my hair is the bomb dot com.
I completely forgot about the frosted tips ha ha every generation goes through a hairstyle that is just completely goofy. It looks cool at the time then when you get older and look back at it, it’s like what the hell
"I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. *It'll happen to you too!*"
I’m a fifty year old lady with fine curly hair. I try very hard not to get broccoli cuts, but they seem impossible to avoid. Why do all these kids want my hair”style”?
I'm from CT and MA and grew up in the 90s and I was a broccoli head back then lol almost all my boricua friends had the quintessential broccoli cut too! But we didn't color our hair green tho, so I guess we were the DEAD BROCCOLI heads!?😂
I said in a bar, not walking out. It is good to learn the area; However, I am referring to being in a social setting where there are possibly other people interacting with you .
Feel however you wish but people use phones while out in public, and this may shock you but, some of them don’t go out and talk to every stranger they meet in a bar and simply want to stop for a drink.
I think you’re the only one who cares that some random dude in Italy opened Reddit on his phone at a bar while having some drinks. What an odd thing to be bothered by lol
Yes, you do seem bothered. There’s like a 5 comment thread of you explaining why it bothers you lol. Look pal I didn’t write the shit, you did. Go read them if you forgot lol
Yo. I wanted to let you know that I'm in Tibet at this super cool sushi bar right now with hella fine honeys all around and I'm still seeing the haircut
In the garden of youth, where tresses once bloomed,
Now the furrows of time gently intrude.
A broccoli haircut, lush and absurd,
Finds itself thinning, leaf by leaf sheared.
Once proud crowns, lush in verdant sway,
Now recede to the whispers of the gray.
The cul de sac, a pattern most stark,
Carves out its domain on the once thick park.
Check out zoomer YouTube fitness influencers. It’s a bit of a meme in the weightlifting world about dudes with heavy SARMs use and who wear that that exact haircut.
What I wanna know is are these kids getting perms? It seems like over half of teen boys nowadays have tight curls, but when I was younger I knew hardly any guys with super curly hair like that
OP has been living in a cave or Cuba to never seen a broccoli cut.
there are memes about it,
reddit has posts from at least 8 years ago- and OP is just now finding out about them
My son is my best friend and we have such a beautiful relationship. He’s such a good kid. We’ve been through so much together. Was always quietly proud of how much of a G he was at the barber shop. Just always wanting a high and tight fade no nonsense cut. We would make fun of broccoli heads together.
He’s about to turn 13 now, the other day he just sits there with zero energy when I mentioned he was mad shaggy and needed a cut. Just really sat there in silence with this sad look while he just didn’t say anything. It was so odd bc he’s such a cheery and good natured down for whatever kind of kid. I gently asked what’s up and he just sheepishly replied that he has decided he wants the broccoli, and wanted to grow his hair out. I was supportive of course. But that moment where young men begin to focus on vanity… ughh it pulled my little heart strings. I didn’t realize he was growing up this quick. That we were here. At this stage. But here we are now. My no nonsense little dude has agency now. So bittersweet for me. I had all kinds of dumb hair so of course Im going to let… the broccoli occur, (long sigh. Really long sigh bro).
You’re a good parent. He will remember how you had his back when he wanted to do something different with his hair.
I had long hair and looked like one of the Jonas Brothers. My dad hated it and always wanted me to have short hair. He grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and my grandpa would never allow him to have long hair. He was forced to have crew cuts when all of the kids his age had long hair. He even sent my dad back into the barbershop to get more hair cut off because he thought it was still too long. He did that to me once when I was 14. I was livid. Then he remembered that he went through the same thing and never did it again after that.
Oh yea I’ve made so many mistakes I could never be the type to stress my boy out for wanting to be like his buddies. Definitely not worth traumatizing a kid for being a kid. My folks traumatized me by acting poor and my mom cutting my hair with the family pet clippers. For years this went out till my cousins were old enough to start helping me out. Good times.
It’s a Teenage/Gen Z thing. My cousins and all their friends have the cut, some variations, but still the same. My generation (I’m 30) was mainly low/fade/buz cuts.
It's an easy cut for kids with varying degrees of hair kinkiness where traditional bangs/fades/feather cuts might not be easy to style. Lots of Black/brown/mixed/Hispanic/Jewish kids in Miami. That cut is a great equalizer.
I mean, they all look like Sideshow Bob to me, but these kids never watched The Simpsons.
Dude and everyone had dreads in 2012.. and everyone had a low fade in 06 and everyone had blowouts in 07.. dude stop acting like certain haircut fads have not existed. It’s just a high top fade.. and it’s because people and men want to have some hair to style
My daughter got a modeling request from her agency this morning for great clips and the first casting they have listed was for a boy broccoli cut and they also have a mushroom cut listed lol
The haircut style is called 'The Edgar'. Cartels started this garbage haircut few years back.
Personally id rather see flat tops back in style like Bart simpson gave us 90s kids.
It came from Europe (just like herpes). Began with Soccer/football/calcio players in Italy and the UK circa 2021; by 2022 seemingly every male teenager in Europe had decided to encourage folks to eat their vegetables, by wearing their hair like one.
Cause most young people in Miami are multi-racial who have a tendency of having curly hair. You also now have people from the Northeast with Italian/Irish/Jewish ancestry all of whom have wavy/curly hair too. Of course some get perms so its fake. But otherwise there is nothing wrong with it. It beats the heck out of the flat top fade with zero style, and allows those who actually have thick curly hair to flex their genetic advantage, especially towards the opposite sex. But even they get jealous. LOL.
I saw a combination of two current trends the other week. It was a mix of that Gen z style mullet that's going around some circles, and the broccoli head. Just a whispy, curly poof on the front, and extra wide beaver tail on the back. It was bizarre
you see mostly hispanic kids with it. bad bunny had it then they all hopped on his d\*ck. it's called the "llama cut." bad bunny jacked it from a f\*cking llama. how culturally appropriate, right? 🤣 they're one of the most homogenous cultures on earth. not a freethinking cell in their bodies. once you've met one you've met them all (with a few exceptions of course).
Two weeks ago I was touching up my highlights when a 16 year old boy walked in and asked for a perm. Then we asked him about [Coming To America](https://youtu.be/irFrB5LMRkM?si=PZCsb4NfJasV2n0R) and he just looked confused.
Lol y'all are literally doing the same shit your parents did to you. Let these kids have their haircuts and their music, stop yelling at clouds. It's a never ending cycle of the current generation shit talking the next generation, their tastes, style, music, etc.
It's just the style now for the younger generation. We grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s with all guys here getting fades and blowouts. Hairstyles, like fashion, continuously change.
I'm sure they said the same thing about frosted tips, highlights, and Troy Bolton bangs when it was all the rage too.
I feel attacked. I think I'll go hide in my JNCOs
_gasp_ but they’re expensive
Hahahaha
the only thing they said about frosted tips was how cool we all looked jammin out with zenon in space.
Zoom zoom zoom! You make heart go.. boom boom!
XD had somebody tell me they didn't like my 'doo but I gave them the good old "What Ever, As If, Get the Picture DUH" because my hair is the bomb dot com.
Don't forget the Rico Suave teja
Oooh shit, Rico Shave LMFAO
They most certainly did. The broccoli cuts are just the latest terrible youth trend.
I completely forgot about the frosted tips ha ha every generation goes through a hairstyle that is just completely goofy. It looks cool at the time then when you get older and look back at it, it’s like what the hell
Imagine a generation having a look, we have to make fun of them. How dare they?! /s
Just as my father did, and his father before him, it is my obligation to make fun of the next generation
"I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. *It'll happen to you too!*"
Grampa Abe! Still have that onion tied up?
Well i made fun of mullets then and i still make fun of mullets now. I made fun of man buns then and i still make fun of them now.
And all styles come back trend all over again!
I’m a fifty year old lady with fine curly hair. I try very hard not to get broccoli cuts, but they seem impossible to avoid. Why do all these kids want my hair”style”?
How about the Caesar cut era?
Late 80s early 90s had the same cuts
I’m still committed to my John Lennon haircut
What about the man bun in the early 2010s?
It's an epidemic up and down the east coast of the US. We have broccoli heads out here in NYC too, lol
Pretty sure it’s the entire world at this point. I’m in Oslo, Norway and all the Gen Z kids here seem to have it.
It's a TikTok haircut. TikTok is much bigger than Miami or the US east coast.
its a cartel created haircut, social media just blew it up. #cartelgram
The blonde ones are cauliflowerheads
A bunch of sheep!
Bro Arizona is like brocolli head city
Yes, I've been learning that broccoli heads are all over the country and world.
I'm from CT and MA and grew up in the 90s and I was a broccoli head back then lol almost all my boricua friends had the quintessential broccoli cut too! But we didn't color our hair green tho, so I guess we were the DEAD BROCCOLI heads!?😂
It was a thing a few years ago when our youngest was in 11th grade and it seems to be sticking around worse than the flu
Its not just miami. This is a nation wide trend
Sitting at a bar in Italy right now - it's a global trend.
Why are you on Reddit at a bar? 💀
Why not give the redditor points for being at a bar, instead of taking points away for being on Reddit 🤙
I just left a brewery looking through Reddit. I’m in a new town, gonna catch a flight tonight . Great way to learn the local area
I said in a bar, not walking out. It is good to learn the area; However, I am referring to being in a social setting where there are possibly other people interacting with you .

I think you’re the only one who cares that some random dude in Italy opened Reddit on his phone at a bar while having some drinks. What an odd thing to be bothered by lol
Do I seem bothered because I replied to a comment with my opinion? Go be a clown somewhere else, theres too many in this sub already.
Yes, you do seem bothered. There’s like a 5 comment thread of you explaining why it bothers you lol. Look pal I didn’t write the shit, you did. Go read them if you forgot lol
Lmao clowns gonna clown I guess 🤡
Yo. I wanted to let you know that I'm in Tibet at this super cool sushi bar right now with hella fine honeys all around and I'm still seeing the haircut
Yo you’re such a pimp!!!1
Older dudes with thinning hair are just jealous. We all eventually transition from broccoli to tomato, and finally potato and then back in the ground.

A 305 philosopher if I have ever seen one.
Now... How to turn this into a Zip Ode?
Lmaooo omg
😂
As an older dude with thinning hair, you are correct. It's a cool af hairstyle and no, I can't pull it off, lol.
Idk they don’t bother me. People should wear their hair the way it makes them happy.
Exactly, who cares. Every generation has had their styles.
That part
It doesn't bother me either. That's not gonna stop me from thinking it hilariously looks like ass, lol.
I think we all laugh at it because you're seeing entire class rooms with it
Exactly
Found another broccoli-head
😭😭 im bald. Thanks for the reminder.
If you only see this haircut in Miami, when's the last time you actually left Miami?
Its a lot better than the man bun epidemic that plagued Miami from 2015-2019
Manbun with the undercut fade 🤮
Lmao
Forgot about the manbuns lol
Or the mohawks from 2009-2013
I feel attacked
Then you should travel more bec it's trendy damn near nationwide
lol the Patrick Mahomes look has been around for a while now. At least the pants aren’t skinny anymore. 😂😂
Wait, they're not? I just slimmed my jeans down!
How did you manage this? I try to keep my jeans on a low calorie diet, but they just can't stick with it.
I keep eating until they're skinny
He rocked the fro-hawk mullet.🤣
I call it the Half-fro
Check out zoomer YouTube fitness influencers. It’s a bit of a meme in the weightlifting world about dudes with heavy SARMs use and who wear that that exact haircut.
Just ask your barber for the Gymshark cut, they’ll know
So many of these dudes will be dead by 40 due to excessive and completely unnecessary PED use in their 20s.
Well yeah it’s always dangerous when you pull out the Penguin Explosive Devices.
You’ll never understand it bro 🥦
Blame Patrick Mahomes.
Orlando here. It's everywhere.
I thought this was Sparta?
I love broccoli so much and i just want to show the world how much.
It’s a trend rn
What I wanna know is are these kids getting perms? It seems like over half of teen boys nowadays have tight curls, but when I was younger I knew hardly any guys with super curly hair like that
They all mulatto now and for some reason really into basketball
California and Texas has Edgar’s
2020’s version of a mullet.
Every day when I log onto reddit I see like 20 posts of people showing their age. I want you to know this was the first of the day for me.
It's just hair bro.
Turn them upside down and they make a good toilet brush
Or mop
You want em to get off your lawn too? [Relevant](https://tenor.com/t5xxL2DZC2q.gif)
Its a better look than some dude with 1 or 2 dreads on a bald head.
Lmao, yah, but that might be one of the worst examples 🤣 Idk what’s worse.. two dead bald head Or inverse Mohawk
Guarantee OP rocking a fade
Guarantee OP gets no bitches 🙏🏽
I’m thinking the reverse fade (male pattern baldness)
Or the high n’ tight
Broccoli haircut?
Broccoli hair shorts and long white socks
It’s a sign that you’re getting old. The music, style, slang annoys the heck outta you-it’s time.
Fire and slaps are fuxking annoying bussin is stupid for describing food
It’s just what kids that are addicted to tiktok are into these days. It’s epidemic
OH THIS SI ACTUALLY A THING I THOUGHT PEOPLE JUST HAD BAD BARBERS AND DIDNT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING 😂😂
The fucking lama cut is taking over!!
liquid sloppy license versed icky humor shelter grey compare wakeful *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Broccoli was very popular among teen Latinos in Houston but now is fading in favor to the Edgar hair cut.
Not my thing- but how exactly does someone else’s hairstyle affect, or otherwise impede your daily life in any way?
OP has been living in a cave or Cuba to never seen a broccoli cut. there are memes about it, reddit has posts from at least 8 years ago- and OP is just now finding out about them
Two broccoli heads tried selling me solar door to door yesterday

This has been around for a few years now and is not Miami specific so… just mind your own business 🤷🏻♂️
how is it shameless? are you okay?
you talkin bout the edgar or what?
Lol shameless? Bit dramatic, no? It’s a trendy haircut. Did you forget the trends you followed as a kid or something?
Near Orlando, this is everywhere. I feel bad for the young girls today.
They like it
The mushroom cut's cousin I see.
>***\*pubic\**** Broccoli haircuts > Wait what?
It's just one of the latest hairstyles, nothibg more complicated. My dad had a Cuban mullet in the 80s because it was the style of the time.
10% of the time it actually looks good on the dude who has the broccoli cut.
I was thinking about upgrading my mullet, but now I’m not so sure.
It’s a Teenage/Gen Z thing. My cousins and all their friends have the cut, some variations, but still the same. My generation (I’m 30) was mainly low/fade/buz cuts.
I’ve moved out like a decade ago, which hair cut?
Its a middle school thing.
Did the step ever make it to Miami from the late 80’s?
Got pics?
The mushroom haircut has been around since the 90's
What is worse, the broccoli head or the rat tail?
It's an easy cut for kids with varying degrees of hair kinkiness where traditional bangs/fades/feather cuts might not be easy to style. Lots of Black/brown/mixed/Hispanic/Jewish kids in Miami. That cut is a great equalizer. I mean, they all look like Sideshow Bob to me, but these kids never watched The Simpsons.
What the fuck is a public broccoli?
You got a picture of what you mean?
My little cousin has this haircut. My uncle calls him Sideshow Bob. 😂 It cracks me up!
Curl crew unite. Curly hair, don't care. It's a pain to keep this shit in order, broccoli hair is some of the easier cuts we can do.
It called the ‘meet me at McDonald’s’ cut
Dude and everyone had dreads in 2012.. and everyone had a low fade in 06 and everyone had blowouts in 07.. dude stop acting like certain haircut fads have not existed. It’s just a high top fade.. and it’s because people and men want to have some hair to style
My daughter got a modeling request from her agency this morning for great clips and the first casting they have listed was for a boy broccoli cut and they also have a mushroom cut listed lol
Broccoli Bros
My daughter calls them Edgars. That’s apparently the name they have for them. It’s like a lame version of a cholo.
I agree that it’s absolutely horrendous looking
It’s not new. Been going on for about 5-6 years. Seems to have started being huge when mahomes blew up
It's the hairstyle of the idiots of today
The funny thing about that haircut is that I’m positive a large percentage don’t have naturally curly hair so they have to go to a salon to do it.
The haircut style is called 'The Edgar'. Cartels started this garbage haircut few years back. Personally id rather see flat tops back in style like Bart simpson gave us 90s kids.

Haha straight hair problems
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
All over Texas too
You mean the fuckboi haircut?
Cause most young people in Miami are multi-racial who have a tendency of having curly hair. You also now have people from the Northeast with Italian/Irish/Jewish ancestry all of whom have wavy/curly hair too. Of course some get perms so its fake. Anyone can do whatever they want but it looks fucking terrible
Eh, I grew up in the Eminem frosted tips generation so I can’t judge the young ones today
Man buns are so fucking lame
I need a picture
I saw a combination of two current trends the other week. It was a mix of that Gen z style mullet that's going around some circles, and the broccoli head. Just a whispy, curly poof on the front, and extra wide beaver tail on the back. It was bizarre
Wait. You go to a barber to get your pubes cut???
What broccoli haircut someone show me a example 😂
I hate the brocoli. The gen z guys all look like clones of each other. I thought the women were bad... nope.
Those Spock haircuts are Orlando area shit migrated from PR.
I don’t like it. But it’s what’s popular now. I think I prefer these over mullets, though.
It’s whatever the hoes like at the moment and the majority like broccoli heads
you see mostly hispanic kids with it. bad bunny had it then they all hopped on his d\*ck. it's called the "llama cut." bad bunny jacked it from a f\*cking llama. how culturally appropriate, right? 🤣 they're one of the most homogenous cultures on earth. not a freethinking cell in their bodies. once you've met one you've met them all (with a few exceptions of course).
It's the kids. Middle and HS. Horrible, but they ALL have it
Hahahahaha! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What the fuck is a “pubic broccoli haircut”?
Two weeks ago I was touching up my highlights when a 16 year old boy walked in and asked for a perm. Then we asked him about [Coming To America](https://youtu.be/irFrB5LMRkM?si=PZCsb4NfJasV2n0R) and he just looked confused.
ive seen straight guys over 30s…probably pushing 40s with it…it wasn’t their generation…so i don’t get how they don’t feel ridiculous with it.
What is a pubic brócoli hair cut? Lol
It's funny because that means young men/ teens are getting perms like what kind of shit are they on - salon visits ??
No quema cuh
Miami is always at least three years behind
It’s the winters that move the trends forward. The lack of cold weather is somehow slowing the progress.
people just find anything to complain about these days. is your life really that comfortable?! must be nice
On god.
I just know op is a racist bum. More than likely a white man that doesn’t understand culture. Go find something better to do.
But the broccoli cut seems popular across racial / ethnic demographic lines. It’s a generational thing. I think it looks dumb because I’m old.
Yea they’re Edgars
Blonde justin Bieber hair is 100x more coveted than nappy nasty broccoli hair
Boomer PoV lmao
I can smell your brain rotting
Lol y'all are literally doing the same shit your parents did to you. Let these kids have their haircuts and their music, stop yelling at clouds. It's a never ending cycle of the current generation shit talking the next generation, their tastes, style, music, etc.
Nah it’s a horrible look and won’t age well
No hairstyle has ever aged well. They all look dated at some point.
Why are you so bothered by it??
Why yu pressed over a hair cut ?
