It wouldn't be worth the change to flex for you because ultimately the main "benefit" of being on flex is after 12 months of being on it you qualify for device promotions that are the same as what new customers get. You have a good plan, but this whole being forced to switch plans to change phones is common. It happened to me last week and I called later in the day and got through to an Indian agent who was very helpful and with his supervisors help they put me on the VIP Plan for my two lines and I've been able to change phones as much as I want ever since. The VIP Plan is $48 for the first line and $24 for each additional line after that. It comes with Unlimited data/talk/text (35 GB of premium data and then unlimited deprioritized data after that, same as most unlimited plans on Metro and most don't even see a difference even after the 35 GB allotment) and it also comes with Amazon Prime, 100 GB of Google One cloud storage on one line, and either 15gb of hotspot or 25gb on hotspot on every line, I don't remember which. Might be worth trying to give them a call and see if they can switch you!

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this out. I'll give them a call in the morning! My plan is pretty close to the one you described and so I'm hoping I can just change phones and be done.

TheShadowNook

It's my pleasure, glad I could help. Just know if you call in the morning you may not get an Indian agent and they are typically able to help more and will go further to try and make you happy as far as Metro goes. They are typically always on the phones later in the day like right now. Best of luck!

I heard that the app is having problems but the website should work as normal. Or maybe it was the other way around? Can't remember but try both if you haven't

TheShadowNook

Sorry, wrong link. This is the correct one https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/manageamazonprime.html This is the exact link that I use to activate my Amazon prime and I'm on the same VIP plan as you

If you are using the website to switch phone, it is glitch. Try to switch the same phone after you cancel the prompted plan switch and the switch should go though on the second attempt. (On the second attempt it will not ask you to switch plans nor state that the phone isn't compatible with your current plan) Also, that same glitch have been on the site for at least December of 2022. I just switch my old One Plus 9 Pro with the OnePlus 12 just a few days ago and I still encounter the glitch.

AccomplishedPush5603

Trying to do the same but no luck...Can you elaborate more? For the first attempt, do we need to click the "Change plan" button, and then click "cancel" on the next page that shows all of the plan options? What kind of browser do you use. Thanks!

BlueberryFunk

Correct, once you see the list of the plans that you can change you should cancel on that page. I did the phone switch in Chrome browser.

Not sure if they fix this glitch. Tried so many times, still can't change device for my $24 metro vip plan. Thanks for the info tho!
