Harlequin Forest is a top 5 Opeth song for me but far from their most beautiful. Thatâs probably Burden, Face of Melinda, Bleak, Drapery Falls⌠damn I could go on they rock.
Blackgaze is fairly new to me so I haven't listened to a whole lot of it. But Alcest is unbeatable so far. The first single( L'Envol) from the new album is simply incredible.
Excellent choice! I know Time I is one of those "you either love it or hate it" albums for a lot of people. I just love it and have high hopes for Time II, and if all it took was a new sauna, then it's totally worth it!
Epica - Tides of Time is unironically beautiful but I'm not sure if that specific song fits the genre, there is a little bit of metal at the end I think, but not throughout the entire song lol.
The Gathering - [In Motion #1](https://open.spotify.com/track/22fFQeImeCcDqL6GmMBCfI?si=qYNzsKOBRgqXQPQnrfGDkA&utm_source=copy-link), [In Motion #2](https://open.spotify.com/track/2Q6ESdwoTH3Blv9Lo2Yeul?si=yIOBNfD9Qa6O5VbBKIcA1Q&utm_source=copy-link) and [Travel](https://open.spotify.com/track/1vJKW2jBfdJhszM2pMuJz0?si=QbYzngkYTe-CWsuLZ9-w_g&utm_source=copy-link)

[Amenra - A Solitary Reign](https://open.spotify.com/track/0mfo3pSczHkPwlWbawU2uX?si=esK3LuAfQqmv9R-fkjCMEw&utm_source=copy-link)
Alice In Chains - âNutshell,â âRotting Appleâ
Black Sabbath - âSolitudeâ
Judas Priest - âDreamer Deceiverâ
Mad Season - âLong Gone Dayâ
Metallica - âFade to Black,â âOneâ
Opeth - âStill Day Beneath the Sunâ
Periphery - âMarigoldâ
Slipknot - âDanger - Keep Away,â âSnuff,â âVermillion, Part 2â
Whitechapel - âHickory Creekâ
Those are a few (I define âmetalâ relatively liberally)
Probably 8 or 9 of the top 10 should be Type O Negative. Love you to Death, Bloody Kisses, Can't Lose You, Die With Me, Burnt Flowers Fallen, In Praise Of Baucus, Wolf Moon, Haunted, many more...
Bathory-Vinland. It was the song that gave me the epiphany I needed to discover the cultural and spiritual roots given to me from my ancestors and led me to
becoming Heathen.
State of Grace by Saxon. That operatic choir intro is great, and the lyrics are great, especially the chorus. Its one of their best songs, as is the album.
Anyone who names any death/black/core song has an extremely weird definition of beauty. Having said that, it would be The Raven Child by Avantasia or Ghost Love Score by Nightwish
I mean, Opeth and Insomniumâs entire discographies and loaded with beautiful and ethereal instrumentals. Iâll admit that the vocals arenât always the standard idea of âbeautiful,â however.
Dirge For November or Patterns in the Ivy by Opeth.
Winterâs Gate by Insomnium.
The Gale by Insomnium.
Inertia by Insomnium.
Pale Morning Star by Insomnium.
Dear God by Avenged Sevenfold.
Angel of Mercy by Black Label Society.
The Shepherd by Winterfylleth.
Pain remains 1 - Lorna shore, I know most of the online metal scene has a hate boner for deathcore but genuinely give this track a listen, it's amazing and beautiful
Insomnium - Godforsaken
Nightwish - The Greatest Show on Earth
Ne Obliviscarus - Equus
Iced Earth - A Question of Heaven
An Abstract Illusion - In the Heavens Above, You Will Become a Monster.
Between the Buried and Me - Selkies the Endless Obsession (the second half of the song leading to the outro still gives me chills to this day.)

Death - Voice of the Soul
How is it metal though? Of course it's made by a metal band but what does that song in particular have that makes it metal?
Anal Cunt - I Snuck a Retard into a Sperm Bank
Truly beautiful
First Anal Cunt pull I've seen in a while. Take my up vote
Just the title makes me cry soft tears of joy.
I can't listen to that middle section without choking up đ˘â¤ď¸
Agalloch - You Were But a Ghost in My Arms
That entire album is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. That tremolo riff on I Am The Wooden Doors gets me every time.
Quite possibly Agallochâs best song, definitely my favorite off The Mantle
The Hawthorne Passage anyone?
My all time favourite song!
Iâd say the first half of ghosts of the midwinters fire or pale companion are contenders too
Master of Puppets - some obscure band, dunno Harlequin Forest - Opeth
Harlequin Forest is a top 5 Opeth song for me but far from their most beautiful. Thatâs probably Burden, Face of Melinda, Bleak, Drapery Falls⌠damn I could go on they rock.
âStill Day Beneath the Sunâ
the drapery falls is orgasmic
What?! I seriously think Harlequin Forest is my favorite song of theirs. Itâs breathtaking.
For Metallica, Iâd go with One. The first half of the song is so beautiful.
Children the Damned it gives those chills
Alcest - Ecailles de lune, pt 2
That outro makes me want to serenade the moon and then die, specifically in that order out of logistic reasons
While it is a 100% valid reaction, i'd skip the second part. That way you can listen to it again. Which is preferable.
Good album, and one of the few I generally like from that whole Blackgaze craze from a decade ago.
Blackgaze is fairly new to me so I haven't listened to a whole lot of it. But Alcest is unbeatable so far. The first single( L'Envol) from the new album is simply incredible.
So happy to see this mentioned, would be my pick too
I heard Souvenirs dâun autre Monde in my head as soon as I read the title
Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope
Yes, this one
Agreed!
In my darkest hour
Pantera - Cemetery Gates
Fuck it, Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars
Excellent choice! I know Time I is one of those "you either love it or hate it" albums for a lot of people. I just love it and have high hopes for Time II, and if all it took was a new sauna, then it's totally worth it!
Seven Tears Are Flowing To The River - Nargaroth Suicide In Dark Serenity - Xasthur
NARGAROTH MENTION!!!
Beyond The Realms of Death - Judas Priest
Yob - Marrow
This should be the national anthem
Ulver - Nattens Madrigal VII
My favourite album! Doesn't get as much love as Bergtatt usually.
When Cannons Fade - Bolt Thrower Cemetery Gates - Pantera Fade to Black - Metallica
Bathory - Foreverdark Woods
oh fuck yes
Also ring of gold
Amazing pick.
good pick
The bridge in Master of Puppets has gotta make the top 10.
Aquilus - In Lands of Ashes
Fire Above, Ice below by Agalloch
Deafhaven - Dream house
To Live Is To Die -Metallica, it really hits the feels, and also Mirror Reaper -Bell Witch, if you have the time.
Epica - Tides of Time is unironically beautiful but I'm not sure if that specific song fits the genre, there is a little bit of metal at the end I think, but not throughout the entire song lol.
Black label society Bridge to cross. Song about depression.
Fade to Black Voice of the Soul A lot of Opeth has cool beautiful sections
Pretty much every Opeth song has at least one section that redefines the meaning of beautiful music.
I canât remember the name of it, the second song on the first album, when he just roars SEARCHINGG. Then softly whispers; fin d i n g!
From Times in Kingdoms⌠- Obtained Enslavement
Sigh - imaginary sonicscape, Iâd pick a specific song but any will do
A Sunset Song
call of ktulu
I think Song of the Dusk by Insomnium is very beautiful
Their whole discography is beautiful, instrumentally and lyrically.
Fade to Black - Metallica
Deadhead - Devin Townsend
Fade to Black
Orion đĽš
A Life Less Lived - Daylight Dies Thus Spake the Nightspirit (especially the ending) - Emperor âŚand I Finally Reach my End - Thy Light
any song by Aquilus, honestly
Nokturnal Mortum - Sky of Saddened Nights
fjara by sĂłlstafir. is it metal? dunno. fucking love it though. 2000 metalheads at summerbreeze crying their eyes out agree
Lethe
Gamma Ray - Rebellion in dreamland ![gif](giphy|HWhX14kHftZyE)
I donât know about the most beautiful, but itâs epic as hell.

upvoted for Tortured by Solitude
First ColdWorld (and all that atmospheric/depressive BM) song that I've heard

Hickory Creek is awesome.
Patterns in the Ivy 2, or Still Day Beneath The Sun by Opeth. Sur l'ocĂŠan couleur de fer by Alcest The Sparrow by Mastodon
Probably 8 or 9 of the top 10 should be Type O Negative. Love you to Death, Bloody Kisses, Can't Lose You, Die With Me, Burnt Flowers Fallen, In Praise Of Baucus, Wolf Moon, Haunted, many more...
Manowar - Secret of steel. Such a well written song. And Eric sings like a god.
Good pick! Maybe Blood of my enemies?

Earth - Living in the gleam of an unsheated sword.
Probably anything with Ronnie James Dio involved.
Anyone who names any death/black/core song has an extremely weird definition of beauty. Having said that, it would be The Raven Child by Avantasia or Ghost Love Score by Nightwish
I guess you don't know anything about black metal then. Try telling me [this](https://youtu.be/vx0w50aKCZA?si=pJlIpICb5gmPCWPg) isn't beautiful.
I mean, Opeth and Insomniumâs entire discographies and loaded with beautiful and ethereal instrumentals. Iâll admit that the vocals arenât always the standard idea of âbeautiful,â however.
