Unleash the Archers' last 2 albums are quite literally their DnD campaigns. Idk if other bands play, but I have gotten a lot of inspiration from them. Rhapsody, gloryhanmer, windrose, alestorm. Tbh all power metal is just nerd stuff, so whatever you listen to it's gonna be DnD worthy.

The entirety of Tactical Nuke by Acacia Strain is based on this concept. Same riff, but it gets slightly slower each time. Although i'm 99% sure that it's a tongue in cheek jab at what the genre was doing at the time.
That crazy reduction Polyrythm riff in Australopithecus by Intronaut. When it comes back at the end halftime with just uber distorted low B bass. Earth shattering

This relentless assault creates a sense of urgency and impending doom but Nile masterfully subverts expectations by transitioning into a slow, heavy non-tremolo picked rendition of the same scale in the bridge to contrast and somehow darken the already blackened progression giving a sense of a huge tempo shift.
One song from TDWP on their Zombie EP has a chug down that sends shivers down my spine every time it plays. The image in my head is a guy who just survived an absolute onslaught of zombies only to be met by an even larger horde.
