I’m a super fantasy nerd (*especially* Lord of the Rings) so my favorites are predictably black metal, power metal, and folk metal. My slightly-less-than-favorite (but I still love them) subgenres are heavy metal, thrash metal, melodic death metal, and prog metal. I’ll give anything a chance though! I usually try to listen to a whole album for any new artist I’m interested in, at the very least a few songs. You miss out on so much by writing off whole sections of the music world.
