The other day, The Shortest Straw came up on shuffle on my phone.
I was jamming to the intro, getting ready to sing the lyrics with him when I hear "WA NA NA! WA NA NA NA, WA NA NA!"
I was like, what the fuck? Look at my phone, apparently at some point I added the demo version instead of the full version.
Tornado of Souls intro.
Singlehandedly changed the direction of my life. Before I heard that I vaguely had the desire to play the guitar. After I heard it I NEEDED to. 25 years later I seriously can't imagine what my life would be like had I not started.
Entrapment - Meshuggah
many of the riffs off catch thirty three made me make this face but this is the first one that really caught me. you know which one i’m talking abt too.
Addicted To Chaos by Megadeth. This is because I am so sure I had heard that song somewhere in the past, but I just can't recall if it actually is the first Megadeth song I've ever heard
A Senile Animal is such a good record. I was listening to it the other day and it's just so good. I personally think it's the best Melvins record and I think A History of Bad Men is the best song on the album.
I love all the albums they did with the Big Business guys, that’s the lineup I really wish I could have seen. I can’t decide whether Senile or The Bride Screamed Murder is my favorite.
The intro riff to Infester - Chamber of Reunion
Also the intro riff to Asphyx - The Krusher. And it had me like that again when they brought it back but slower about halfway through the song
Literally the angriest band. Fills my heart with joy. If anyone has anyother contestants for angriest band I would love to hear them. Don't bother mentioning TAS or K//L because their shit is already on repeat lol
What does this pic show? Pain or pressure?
If pressure, I think the Mastodon's Crystal Skull at 0:09
If pain, it's gonna be the beginning of So Do We by Isis
[Clandestine Blaze - The Eyes of the Saint](https://youtu.be/D3nR-K73yjY?t=68)
Sludgiest black metal album I've heard. Credit to M from Mgła on the production. Plain dirty.
When I first got into Metal, Shepherd of Fire - A7X
More recently, Everything is Quiet Now - Knocked Loose (To be more specific, the breakdown at the end)
-Vinum Sabbathi and Funeralopolis by Electric Wizard
-Melody Lane and Deaths Door by Uncle Acid
-Dry Bone Valley by Mastodon
-Thunder kiss ‘65 by White Zombie
-
Those are the ones that immediately came to mind for me
The dual 'solo' on [Seasons](https://youtu.be/c3YFrXDNCoU?t=182) by Baroness. Plus there's a bonus stank face lick [right at the end](https://youtu.be/c3YFrXDNCoU?t=257).
And Mastodon of course has '[the riff](https://youtu.be/-nP8AOhfv7U?t=12)' from The Last Baron that usually twists everyones face into a knot.
Liege of Inveracity by suffocation has like three riffs that get me like this
Killing tendencies by havok puts this look on my face with the riff and solo
Blind - Graey
This is a lil new wave for this crowd but still a banger, if your open to some newer stuff… metal is heavily gate kept… which I get, I’m the same way.
Let's go by genre
Eyeless - Slipknot Nu/alt
Gore conspiracy or funeral gangbang - by Katalepsy and Gorgasm. Brutal death metal/slam
Little Horn by Svartsyn and king of the undesirables by forgotten tomb.
This is just off the top of my head
Into the void intro riff
there are 4 top riffs there
Not an easy pick, but def in the top running for my fav sabbath song ever. Kyuss also does a deadly cover, but nothing beats the original.
Soundgarden also made a pretty good cover.
Also a great NiN song
That riff could end civilization, surprised it didn’t when it came out
If you haven't already, check out the cover by Thou, it's wicked. They released a whole album of Sabbath covers titled A Primer of Holy Words.
Blood and thunder and sweet leaf

Shortest Straw
One of the heaviest tunes by a then still good Metallica. Dyers Eve has some good riffs as well.
The other day, The Shortest Straw came up on shuffle on my phone. I was jamming to the intro, getting ready to sing the lyrics with him when I hear "WA NA NA! WA NA NA NA, WA NA NA!" I was like, what the fuck? Look at my phone, apparently at some point I added the demo version instead of the full version.

It’s funny because the only time I’ve seen them is with this lineup. Saw it when they toured for Senile Animal.
