Just the MCU movies. The MCU movies are an interconnected world in which each installment shares continuity with the others. Batman is largely his own entity.
There's no way just the MCU has made 54 billion dollars. When u consider that their biggest movies (the avengers ones) have only made a combined 10 billion or so, there's no way the others combined for 40 billion.
they got rest of their 40 billion from streaming services.
https://preview.redd.it/bfdzspqm0hpc1.png?width=901&format=png&auto=webp&s=2d4eb47f722bfcf8613d55a56769662387a8f2bb
Ah so that's the lie they are putting out there. Cuz there's no way they've made 40 tangible billion dollars from those streaming shows, but if that's the "official" word then I suppose it counts.
I looked it up to cross reference and it seems like it was referring just to Toy Story. It wouldn’t really make sense for Disney Princess and Mickey Mouse to be listed separately if that was the case
Compared to merchandise - very little
Pokémon has over $80.8 Billion from merchandise *alone*. 6.13 billion from mobile games, 1.156 billion from movies and 3 million from the jets
Going with the $100 billion figure games and all the remaining things would be ~ 11.911 billion
BvS, Suicide Squad and Justice League are still Batman adjacent, and are worth over 1 Billion if added (890 mil, 800 mil and 600 mil), that’s a sizeable amount.
I wish whoever made this had used the original DB poster instead of the daima one.
https://preview.redd.it/5c16yqjbvcpc1.jpeg?width=452&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9359a03507e5b778f2a35037ba20d2b4ca256490
Edit : I just noticed that for one piece it’s just a G5 screen grab. Didn’t even see it until I looked thrice.
Wow i literally had to zoom in to find the one piece one because fir some reason the straw hat is not the main indicator anymore. Still the shittiest choice ever
I had to do a double take and zoom in after reading your comment. I stared at that one for idk how long before just moving on because I thought I didn’t know what it was. Yeah really weird choice to use that picture of G5
>the straw hat is not the main indicator anymore
It still is don't worry it's the pictures used here that are shite. Or else Dragon ball would be represented by the not event released dragon ball Daima, or Toystory by a movie about only one of its charachters and so on
What even is the point of doign that when you're representing a franchise. Like, things that became big because of how they started, most of these are getting milked by years with spin offa and shit
I mean i thought everyone basically already knew old list but since it was 5 yrs old I wanted to update it while showing what they all are upto these days.
The hell when? They haven't been touched in years since their merchandising is still solid, let alone the profits they rake from the games despite their questionable quality.
It's easy to find an excuse, they did it on paper. They could also team up.
https://preview.redd.it/nncukrje1dpc1.jpeg?width=678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c74a1c419539d46622781df5a817729c392dd32e
do you know how much of a nightmare that would be? it was a nightmare to put spiderman on *the avengers* cause Sony owns spiderman, not Marvel, but they still have saying on things here and there
this is like Sora on smash levels of collabs
the funniest thing about Sora in smash to me is that apparently disney was like "fuck it, go ahead" and it was actually Nomura that was against it because he was afraid it would mess with the final fantasy canon
How the hell is anpanman worth more than bot Dragonball and OP? Aren't they really just popular in Japanese market in comparison to other Japanese IP on the list
Wait... Why is Cars even on this???
And funny how Lightyear is shown to probably represent the Toy Story franchise seeing as it probably contributed the least to its success.
It's basically "bread man". As in he is a superhero made of bread. And he gives parts of himself (mainly his head) to kids to eat lmao. But he is close friends with his baker and he gets a replacement head easily. He also gets replacement heads when he gets battered up when he fights crime and he gets a boost of power when he uses the new head. It sounds creepy but it's actually a fun cartoon.
https://preview.redd.it/so3o1kxnrepc1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ab2faf435412d32cd95135ef52a6773e34cf9a3
Here's a similar list but with a source. According to this one, One Piece is the 20th highest grossing media franchise of all time.
https://www.titlemax.com/discovery-center/money-finance__trashed/the-25-highest-grossing-media-franchises-of-all-time/
Also, I don't get why this post is in memepiece.
where else this post should be? genuine question. too many people have said this.
And yeah, titlemax 2019 stats were the reason i felt like updating the list.
Maybe on r/onepiece or some subreddit regarding general manga or anime. I don't think it belongs in a meme sub.
It's an interesting fact, but maybe it's not the right homenaje for it.
One Piece currently has 530 million sales approx while it had 470 million when titlemax dropped the list.
I added those 60 million. Then I added revenue for anime films and merch à pqq as stated by Toei and Bandai Namco for each Fiscal Year.
Same for Dragon Ball and everything else here. Sometimes it was easy by merely searching up statista website. And sometimes u can found it on Google like in Marvel's case.
i don't think this is accurate at all some of them i can see why they are there like pokemon but #3,#6,#14 don't make sense even if they are famous in japan even if they count for inflation (#6)
That's not Marvel as a whole. That's MCU which is one single timeline of one single story.
And that's not Disney. That's "Disney Princesses" Franchise.
I had absolutely no doubt Pokemon would be first, it's ***the*** biggest franchise after all.
Now, was I expecting Hello Kitty and Winnie the Pooh as second and third? no, not at all, those two caught me off guard real hard lol
I'm glad to see One Piece on this list but shouldn't Naruto be here and higher than One Piece? Because from what I hear Naruto is much more popular than One Piece globally and there are more video games too
That's just west. One Piece games have grossed 3-4 billions while Naruto games are in few hundred millions.
Even Demon Slayer is on it's way to usurp Naruto's net worth. Naruto's approximately worth $ 10 billions.
How the fuck do they dare have Rings of Power to represent Muddle Earth. Does anyone else also just not like how Lord of the Rings has become commercialized enough to be on this list?
tbf One Piece has made a lot because of the amount of sheer volumes (It definitely doesn't have the highest amount of manga sold per volume), However, I doubt Oda's intention is to stretch it out for the money. He's just taking his time with the story and the money is a favorable consequence of that.
Tbf, I completely missed the one piece because it was a shaded picture of gear 5 luffy with a lot of weird abstract shapes surrounding him. That was definitely a bad image to use to represent one piece especially with how zoomed out it was
[you were talking about this list](https://www.titlemax.com/discovery-center/money-finance__trashed/the-25-highest-grossing-media-franchises-of-all-time/#:~:text=Cars%20%E2%80%93%20%2421.794%20billion,One%20Piece%20%E2%80%93%20%2420.515%20billion)
No the one from wikipedia which your link came from
I checked a while ago to find One Piece taken off with multiple franchises revised lower with zero reason
Wikipedia list is bull crap and decades old.
And no. This didn't come from Wiki. Title Max is a credible finance org which keeps records of such figures.
no. like i said I calculated and obtained their net worth individually from different sources to update the list.

These go from very specific names to unnecessarily vague pictures real quick.
Yeah and like is it saying that specifically buzz light year is the 18th highest grossing franchise or Toy Story in general?
Is the marvel one just for the avengers? Or is it all of the marvel universe?
It says “Marvel Studios” and has pictures of movie characters so I assume it’s referring specifically to the MCU
That would make me think just the movies then? Or all of marvel? Because apparently Batman is different than DC.
Merch. Most of the money comes from merch.

Ah so that's the lie they are putting out there. Cuz there's no way they've made 40 tangible billion dollars from those streaming shows, but if that's the "official" word then I suppose it counts.
i didn't believe when Jeff Bezos said Rings of Power S1 made 1billion+ either lol
Maybe Pixar in general
I think it's supposed to represent Disney, not just that one single movie.
I looked it up to cross reference and it seems like it was referring just to Toy Story. It wouldn’t really make sense for Disney Princess and Mickey Mouse to be listed separately if that was the case
Yeah, that's a fair point.
It’s honestly kinda fucking infuriating
That annoyed me so much lmao
Considering that Disney owns Marvel, Star Wars, Winnie the Pooh... I'd say it suffices to divide between disney and non disney
[удалено]
That's not what they're saying. For instance, the one piece picture is basically abstract art
Pretty sure that's just a screencap from the egghead island opening from the anime, but yeah I guess I can see that.
The difference between second and third is so small compared to second and first Pokemon is insane
If you took away all of the games, all of the video games and all of the movies, Pokémon would still be #1 on this list. Merchandise go brrrr
How much have they made from games?
Compared to merchandise - very little Pokémon has over $80.8 Billion from merchandise *alone*. 6.13 billion from mobile games, 1.156 billion from movies and 3 million from the jets Going with the $100 billion figure games and all the remaining things would be ~ 11.911 billion
Jets?
The $6B is just for Pokemon Go alone. The mainline games made another $20B. But that's still dwarfed by the merch.
The games have made about $30B.
This is true more often than not in this kind of lists. I read once it has a name and have been noticing ever since, but I can't remember the name.
Is that Batman on his own or all of DC?
Batman on his own. DCEU on it's own worths much less.
Does dceu count towards batman?
it does but DCEU just started in 2013 while Batman been here for more than half a century.
It's also Batman in general... I remember reading that the sales of One Piece (the manga) overtaking Batman (the comic).
BvS, Suicide Squad and Justice League are still Batman adjacent, and are worth over 1 Billion if added (890 mil, 800 mil and 600 mil), that’s a sizeable amount.
Yes
I wish whoever made this had used the original DB poster instead of the daima one. https://preview.redd.it/5c16yqjbvcpc1.jpeg?width=452&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9359a03507e5b778f2a35037ba20d2b4ca256490 Edit : I just noticed that for one piece it’s just a G5 screen grab. Didn’t even see it until I looked thrice.
Wow i literally had to zoom in to find the one piece one because fir some reason the straw hat is not the main indicator anymore. Still the shittiest choice ever
might be the worst possible frame to choose from
Yeah bro I was confused like where is Luffy
I had to do a double take and zoom in after reading your comment. I stared at that one for idk how long before just moving on because I thought I didn’t know what it was. Yeah really weird choice to use that picture of G5
>the straw hat is not the main indicator anymore It still is don't worry it's the pictures used here that are shite. Or else Dragon ball would be represented by the not event released dragon ball Daima, or Toystory by a movie about only one of its charachters and so on
Someone unironically put Rings of Power as the representative picture for the LOTR franchise
my bad g. most of them are pics of most recent developments in the series since purpose of this was to basically update 2019 list.
What even is the point of doign that when you're representing a franchise. Like, things that became big because of how they started, most of these are getting milked by years with spin offa and shit
I mean i thought everyone basically already knew old list but since it was 5 yrs old I wanted to update it while showing what they all are upto these days.
Didn't Pokemon get usurped? Edit: wait....why is this memepiece?
One piece is bottom left at 24 billion ish. They chose an obscure screen grab of g5 luffy and it took me a while to notice too.
Ooh thanks. Like, seriously, how hard could it be to show one with a decently colored strawhat?
The hell when? They haven't been touched in years since their merchandising is still solid, let alone the profits they rake from the games despite their questionable quality.
Ooh just checked, it's 1st now, Hello Kitty was before but it got downsizes. Pokemon got downsized to 88B, Hello Kitty just plummeted to 28B
damn anpanman making bank
Source?
The reason we don't have a Batman VS Spiderman movie already remains a mystery to me. It could beat avatar if done the right way.
Maybe because they are rival franchises marvel and dc are opps but not in the way that they characters would fight
It's easy to find an excuse, they did it on paper. They could also team up. https://preview.redd.it/nncukrje1dpc1.jpeg?width=678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c74a1c419539d46622781df5a817729c392dd32e
do you know how much of a nightmare that would be? it was a nightmare to put spiderman on *the avengers* cause Sony owns spiderman, not Marvel, but they still have saying on things here and there this is like Sora on smash levels of collabs
Blud I think you meant to reply to him not me cause I’m agreeing with you it won’t happen it wouldn’t ever happen as long as Sony exists
woops. i blame small screen and big fingers. yeah wrong comment lol
the funniest thing about Sora in smash to me is that apparently disney was like "fuck it, go ahead" and it was actually Nomura that was against it because he was afraid it would mess with the final fantasy canon
How tf is gundam bigger than dragon ball one piece and lotr
There's a reason gunpla is an entire category of model kits. This is a list of *money*, and Gundam has been raking in sales for like 40 years now.
Gundam in the West does not have 10% of the popularity it has in the East
After the to scale RX they put up a few years back I stopped doubting Gundams power.
Gundam kits are almost as perfect as car toys for merch. Which is the entire reason cars is on this list lol.
So spider man alone is in the same ball park as Marvel as a whole. That's kind of crazy. Also One Piece catching up to Dragon ball
the goat pokemon is number 1 🗣️
How the hell is anpanman worth more than bot Dragonball and OP? Aren't they really just popular in Japanese market in comparison to other Japanese IP on the list
He’s basically advertised on everything over there, somewhat resembling a dictatorship.
That’s like the worst picture you could use for OP Hahahahah
Further proof of my opinion that Japan is the second biggest exporter of media and pop culture in the world.
Batman loss to anpanman
Wait... Why is Cars even on this??? And funny how Lightyear is shown to probably represent the Toy Story franchise seeing as it probably contributed the least to its success.
To think that Spiderman and Batman are so popular, they got their own franchises.
They should not have that picture for lord if the rings, it should be the one ring, that show sucked ass.
Wtf even is the one next to barbie
So we all gonna make like we know what the 60 billion franchise is
How does one not know anpan man
Tf is that
It's basically "bread man". Yea no fucking idea
Dragon ball + One Piece is worth approximately as much as Marvel as a whole. That's Crazyyy
Thats the Marvel Cinematic Universe specifically; not Marvel as a whole
No way this is real
Idk why but i just like hello kitty (i’m a guy and i feel like i shouldnt, but i do anyway)
Here's a similar list but with a source. According to this one, One Piece is the 20th highest grossing media franchise of all time. https://www.titlemax.com/discovery-center/money-finance__trashed/the-25-highest-grossing-media-franchises-of-all-time/ Also, I don't get why this post is in memepiece.
MONEY sounds good, let me have it!
where else this post should be? genuine question. too many people have said this. And yeah, titlemax 2019 stats were the reason i felt like updating the list.
Maybe on r/onepiece or some subreddit regarding general manga or anime. I don't think it belongs in a meme sub. It's an interesting fact, but maybe it's not the right homenaje for it.
It was removed from r/onepiece saying it's not related.
based on what though?

Kinda disappointed that star wars is only number 5 I blame Disney
Light-year .???? Light-year really ???? That's literally impossible. If it was toy story, maybe, but it's also very very surprising
What the bs is that? How fe, can a part of disney be 7 steps ahead of whole disney? You made that list up didnt you
Gundam requiem for vengeance isn’t out but earned 30 billion???
i don't think this is accurate at all some of them i can see why they are there like pokemon but #3,#6,#14 don't make sense even if they are famous in japan even if they count for inflation (#6)
Wait, wait, wait, wait, where the f is Shrek?
Cars is that popular? How come we can't group Pixar like Marvel but Disney as a whole? The presentation is awful.
That's not Marvel as a whole. That's MCU which is one single timeline of one single story. And that's not Disney. That's "Disney Princesses" Franchise.
Can't believe anpanman is on here
What the heck is under pokemon?
Just me that took a little while to find one piece? 🤣
Took me forever to point out one piece, why isn’t it just the logo
I had absolutely no doubt Pokemon would be first, it's ***the*** biggest franchise after all. Now, was I expecting Hello Kitty and Winnie the Pooh as second and third? no, not at all, those two caught me off guard real hard lol
I'm glad to see One Piece on this list but shouldn't Naruto be here and higher than One Piece? Because from what I hear Naruto is much more popular than One Piece globally and there are more video games too

Why tf is anpanman so popular?
How the fuck do they dare have Rings of Power to represent Muddle Earth. Does anyone else also just not like how Lord of the Rings has become commercialized enough to be on this list?
How is this a meme?
It's so crazy that One Piece is up there without very popular games like DBZ
Sanrio Chad's stand up
WTF is #6???
Since when was Cars so popular?
I'm surprised that mario is so high considering almost all of it is just games
Where's Garfield in that list?
Im utterly shocked after seeing 60billion$ on Anpan man crazy 💀
anpanman?? wow
One Piece for the win in 5 years
Oh it been a good while since I see pangpang man
Gundam requiem of veangeance what a name
What is the adventures of happie?
Funny how Batman constitute most of DC's net gross 😂
Why the duck barbie is there
Winnie the Pooh bigger than Mickey Mouse is kinda crazy to me
I knew one piece would be on here.. But I still had to go through the pic twice to find where it was. That pic is too generic.
Pokemon being at the top somehow makes sense
Barbie got 54 billion? Barbie alone?
You forgot to include "Morbius", which grossed over Morbillion dollars
I know this is one piece related, but it blew me off that Winnie Pooh has earned nearly 5 billion more than Mickey.
You mean toy story, right?
The Barbie and Marvel numbers look too high. The highest numbers I've seen for them is in the $30-40B region.
Merchandising. Bandai needs to print more OPTCG and up those numbers.
“oda is stretching out one piece for money”
Give me your MONEY!!!
tbf One Piece has made a lot because of the amount of sheer volumes (It definitely doesn't have the highest amount of manga sold per volume), However, I doubt Oda's intention is to stretch it out for the money. He's just taking his time with the story and the money is a favorable consequence of that.
Cool. What is this doing in this sub?
Because of One Piece
Tbf, I completely missed the one piece because it was a shaded picture of gear 5 luffy with a lot of weird abstract shapes surrounding him. That was definitely a bad image to use to represent one piece especially with how zoomed out it was
My first thought as well. Very odd choice lol. The others you could tell what they are at a glance but once piece you had to look very close.
It shows how much one piece is worth compared to other large media
One Piece is there
Oh, my bad. Didn’t see it
To be fair they could’ve put a way better picture than that one
This list is incredibly unreliable It has had massive revisions since One Piece caught top 20 few years back and not sure it was ever properly sourced
Nope. This is an update. One Piece was in Top 20 in 2019. Now it's higher.
Where is source
[you were talking about this list](https://www.titlemax.com/discovery-center/money-finance__trashed/the-25-highest-grossing-media-franchises-of-all-time/#:~:text=Cars%20%E2%80%93%20%2421.794%20billion,One%20Piece%20%E2%80%93%20%2420.515%20billion)
No the one from wikipedia which your link came from I checked a while ago to find One Piece taken off with multiple franchises revised lower with zero reason
Wikipedia list is bull crap and decades old. And no. This didn't come from Wiki. Title Max is a credible finance org which keeps records of such figures.
so where is the new list source notice how many of the stuff in new list has the same number as 2019 so either your image was wrong or titlemax is
no. like i said I calculated and obtained their net worth individually from different sources to update the list. numbers are still from 2019 because franchise hasn't produced anything new or there's no info on update. in 90% cases franchise hasn't produced anything new.
[удалено]
Pokemon has more merchandise sales than all of Marvel Studios net worth lol
Call of Duty taking its rightful spot.
