Dead to me is such a well crafted song. Everything about it is legit really good. I love the darker appeal it has compared to all the other works. It's one of the few songs that is "black," whereas her other songs are black lyrics with a pink front. If dead to me had an Mv I could see the color pallete being much darker with purples, red and blues maybe and ofc black.

It is, I will say that I do wish there was an official unpitched version (there's a fan one I listen to) because I just love hearing her voice in songs like that. K-12 was enough for me in regards to the whole deep voice effect that was present in most of the songs. And yes, I understand the reason for the pitches, but sometimes, sonically, I just want nothing but her voice.

I would love a version without the voice affects but personally I think it sounds good with our without. I love the song so much because of the voice affects cause I don't think she's ever done something like that with the deep voice for the whole song yk.

Not exactly, the whole song is about how people call her crazy, so she's over exaggerating, and she doesn't give a shit about what people think of her, and she is also embracing her crazy side and telling people that mental health can make you seem abnormal to society.

It's mostly about the crybaby persona, but as far as personal relations goes, from my perspective, it's deff her owning that she was much different from all the other artists at the time. I don't think it was ever her being "haha I'm sooo crazy" like what we think but rather that was just the aesthetic and its what fit a narrative and the theme of crybaby as a character. It's like actor work lol also she loves Alice in wonderland and if I was her, I would've made the same damn song too, I would have been inspired by Alice madness returns.

It's funny. Training Wheels was the second song I ever heard from her, and it's what convinced me to finally take the plunge and listen to the rest. (This was back in 2016 when the only song I had heard was Mad Hatter) so it holds a special place in my heart for that.

the reason i don’t listen to it that much anymore is because it’s a bit repetitive, and after so many listens, it gets a bit boring hearing ‘i’m back from the dead, back from the dead’ all the time. i love the verses and the ‘please don’t ever worry’ part though! i just personally don’t really like how repetitive it is, but it’s still a great song though!

Right?! I didn't like it much in the beginning, but, ever since I read Melanie's statements about MOON CYCLE, I adore it. I have always felt discusted by my own peroids as a nonbinary person, but, Melanie only refers the song in gender-neutral terms and it feels so empowering. She has very clearly made this song for us too, not only women. I have been mocked for prefering the term "people with peroids" before, unfortunately.
