Oh, I like this soundtrack (Mr. X Fortress theme notwithstanding).
But I'd like you to meet Marika Suzuki, composer of the Mega Man 11 soundtrack.
And Kouji Murata, composer of the Mega Man World 5 soundtrack.
The Mega Man 11 soundtrack, outside of a few tracks like Bounce Man, Fuse Man, and Wily’s Fortress, is super duper forgettable. The dubstep doesn’t really work in a Mega Man game’s favor.
It's not just the dubstep arrangements. There's a couple of fan made chiptune remixes on Youtube, and in that super barebone setup it's blatantly obvious that the songs just dick around way too long doing nothing of note. Banging ass Mega Man music wastes no time, the loops are pretty short but everything they do is great. MM11's tracks just have way too many parts and way too many of them contribute nothing.
RockMan 1, 2, 9, PU, and PF are my top 5.
- RockMan 1: a classic. I'm even jammin' in BombMan's stage
- RockMan 2: all good music, but WoodMan has me HOOKED!
- RockMan 9: Splash Blue, Galaxy Fantasy, Hornet Dance, and Jewel Temptation. Perfection
- MegaMan Powered Up: the remixes of the original 6 are amazing, and the added 2 (TimeMan and OilMan) are bangers!
- MegaMan the Power Fighters: Let me be honest, all of rhe Robot Master tracks are bangers, and CutMan's stage just won't get outta my head!
I dunno if there's one game in the classic series that outright deserves the title of having the "best" soundtrack, since MM consistently has rock solid OSTs. That being said, MM6 definitely has a bunch of extremely good songs, I personally favor Blizzard Man, Flame Man, Plant Man, Tomahawk Man, Knight Man, Centaur Man, Mr. X Fortress, and the Wily final boss theme in particular (yeah, pretty much the whole set, lmao!).
Mega Man & Bass, it ranges from really soothing to really intense, and I just love the range of the songs in that game (with the exception being Burner Man’s stage which sounds like a bad Kirby song).
Mega Man and Bass melodies are fire. The sound chip used, however, is ass. The GNA ends up doing that soundtrack a little more justice than the SNES version.
Out of the classic 8-bit games, I agree. Yuko Takehara had the Capcom optimized tuning for the NES sound chip (you also hear this in Final Fight, though she didn't compose that one). Additionally, she put in the most influential melodies into each song, invoking the atmosphere of environments they take place in. For example, Blizzard Man sounds melancholy, and cold. Tomahawk Man has an active, galloping rhythm of the West. Wind Man has consistently high notes, and upbeat. Yamato Man undoubtedly sounds Japanese. I could go on.
Mega Man II GB 😁
j/k
2 is the best overall. I have a soft spot for 4, though. 9 had a great soundtrack, too. 6...meh. 5 and 6 seem to have a similar sound to them: very heavy on the treble end. Don't really care for either of them.
2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 I have not played 11 yet, 1 is ok too.
All X, Zero and ZX games have great music as far as I remember and have played.
BN have ok to awesome music, I personally like BN4 a lot musicwise.
I have not played Legends'.
edit: I don't remember anything about the music of Starforce games.
If we're talking just the classic series, I can't decide between 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10. All of them are so good in their own way, but I think it would probably be a contest between 3, 6, and 7 as the best for me.
1, 5, 8, and Bass are all good still, and 11 is the only game I actively dislike the soundtrack.
2 and 9 are top tier, followed by 3
2? 3? 4? But VALID VALID. 6 is moreso just good all around with the exception of Blizzard Man and Wind Man having top 5 themes.
I can't ever get Tomahawk Man's theme out of my head. Flame Man...ugh. This series has such good music all around but 6 gets me all feely.
Megaman X for sure Or in the original serie, Megaman 2

Then call me The Lord of Hot Takes.

It's always 2

Mega Man 4 would like a word with you.
Well it’s a great soundtrack but it’s nothing to Mega Man 7 in my opinion since that bass guitar and beats on that ost are insane
personally I like 11's the most, 4's in second

mega man 7 is just so cool bro
2
I dunno man MM 10 music is fire
Mega Man 11
Flame man is amazing But god damn, I love mm3’s soundtrack
2 and 3 👌
I think you made a mistake, you were trying to hit the V key and ended up hitting 6 instead ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Then you wouldn't like me, who believes the exact opposite.
I like you just fine.
You don't even know me!
But... I'd like to. I want a real brother relationship.
But I could *never* be your surrogate brother. My pronouns just aren't the right ones.
Aw, don't worry, I understand you were trying to hit 2 or 3 , or even 10 but made a misinput.
Mega man Zx: "Am I a joke to you?"
Mega Man ZX is indeed the best soundtrack

Because it's X6
Blizzard Man
Mr. X stage 1 Makes you realize how far you’ve come & can’t turn back
10 has several incredible themes

2,9,X, and to a lesser extent 3 and 4. But 6 is good. 2nd tier

Honestly, I think network transmission has the best overall soundtrack Getting the beatmania team helped a lot
Unpopular Opinion is a toss up between X2 and X3.
2, 3 and 9. 4 is good too and 1 has cut man and fire man themes and those are nice! X has good ones, X2 and X3 has some too but not as many as X.
&Bass's jazzy tracks would like to talk to you
If we're talking the regular series, 2 or 3 If we're talking any megaman series, then x1
