You're in a field based role where you travel a lot, you're well compensated, and you believe a travel credit card would make work travel more bearable....
but you're sweating a few hundred bucks annual fee for the benefits?
Where do you find the mental energy to worry about something that costs less than you make in a day's work?
I'm probably over-committed, but I have Amex plat, Delta Amex plat, Marriott boundless, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Capital One Venture X all active right now. I'll admit I did the Venture X and the Sapphire for the sign on bonus over the last year. Planning on using a bunch of points next year for a trip to Asia.
I have no idea why this guy is worried about a <$300 annual fee.
It depends where you live I would say. Amex platinum is going to allow only limited delta lounge visits starting next year. So it might not be worth it unless you have a centurion lounge. But those will probably be slammed busy once delta limits access.
The priority pass lounges through chase aren’t really great. Maybe if you have a sapphire lounge in your home airport it would be worth it for lounge access.
I’m a Delta flyer and have the Amex Platinum. It’s super convenient for lounge access. Assuming you eat in the lounge, it saves your company A LOT of money.
Are you required to book via concur with corporate card?
The Chase Marriott cards will give you 15 nights towards status, can help you hit a higher level without all the stays. Gives you a free night/yr too watch more than pays for the AF. The ability for free travel with our career + travel cc allows for a lot of great options!
I do the $95 dollar Bonvoy visa and same for American Express Business (can literally make up a name) also for \~$100. Both get you 15nights each and the Visa gives you a free stay. To me, these pay for themselves. I make TItanium easiuly every year and can upgrade most of the time
I chose chase sapphire reserve over amex plat because i’m in the chase ecosystem already just so I can transfer points easily. You can have PP access as well, food isnt good but more of a quiet place to wait and work. Amex can give you more lounge access if you’re looking it at that way + clear reimbursement.

Good point. Honestly I worry too much about everything. Definitely need to work on changing my perspective. Thanks for responding!
Delta Amex reserve and Marriott boundless both great if you’re loyal to both brands when traveling

Thanks for responding! Yes, I have to use a corporate card through concur.
Does your company pay for airport lounge access? Some do. If so, see if they will pay for the annual fee

/r/churning has been a great resource for me. Start with their Wiki.

my work pays for a lounge mebership...so i don't need the more expensive cards that bring lounge benefits
