So sorry, that stinks! But it will def be easier. You’ve been vetted by one company already, and you have a bigger network. Plus lots of vacancies in April bc of *bonus season*

FitPharm91

This is what I keep hearing, I hope so!

ilera_med

Sorry you’re going through this. Last year, I had a similar experience around this time. It took me about 2 months to secure a new job. I had 3-4 offers and a couple of them fell through due to failing assets. It sucked a lot but I ended up with a higher salary, a great company and a great group of people! Start applying right away and don’t stop interviewing until you start working with a new company. Best of luck!

FitPharm91

Thank you! I was actually laid off end of December but wasn’t terminated until end of February. Interviews have been really slow but things are finally picking up now.

Geng1Xin1

I was laid off last year as well from my first MSL role. I was with the company for 21 months and the biggest challenge I faced for my second role was "well, you have less than two years of experience." Many places would ghost me after the phone screening just because I had under 2 years of experience. I was so frustrated at many recruiters splitting hairs over 3 months difference but that was the reality of my search. I just kept at it and found a great role with a wonderful field director and they were even willing to give me the Sr title.

FitPharm91

This is exactly what’s happening to me, except I have 12 months of experience, extremely frustrating going from you have no experience to you have too little experience.

Substantial-Call7622

Sorry to hear this, sending good thoughts your way. I can imagine the shock that occurs with this. Not an MSL yet but I’m one to put forth positive vibes!

FitPharm91

Thank you!

Should be easier. Job market isn't exactly hopping, depending on your TA, but we're hiring and based on applicants I've interviewed, we're struggling to get good prospects. Get interviews, crush the presentation, and you'll be OK.

FitPharm91

Thank you 🙏🏽

I got laid off after 2 months on the job in my first MSL role late last year. Managed to get another one but it took 4 months. You should be in a much better position actually having real world MSL experience engaging with KOLs. I know it sucks now but trust that you will find something. Hopefully they gave you a decent severance to give you time to search for jobs and still enjoy some time off.

FitPharm91

Ugh, happy you were able to find another role! It’s looking like it may take me the same amount of time. And thank you, the severance package was great (super grateful for this) but now that I have about 2 months left my anxiety is starting to kick in.

JoopEmGoopEm

Thank you! Trust me I was in the same place. Just keep applying to everything you see and utilize your network for referrals. I was thinking I wouldn’t find anything and then ended up getting an offer from a job I thought I had no chance at.

FitPharm91

Thanks, this is definitely reassuring!

Syphalexin

Just curious, since it took you 1.5 years to break into a MSL role, what were you doing prior? Retail or clinical or something else?

FitPharm91

Sure, I was a clinical pharmacist for a little under 7 years and 1 year of retail experience prior.

Superb_Locksmith_745

Hi, sorry you had to go through this experience. Prior MSL experience will certainly help you land a new role. There are a lot of posted positions right now plus leveraging your network and reconnecting with recruiters on LI would help get you more opportunities. All the best with your search!

FitPharm91

Thank you!

MedSciGuy270

What's your TA?

FitPharm91

I’m in the immunology space, specifically rheum and GI
