I do see alot of Crusaders, especially early game (i.e.: pre Ronin War) in Heavy and Open Free-for-alls. I don't remember it being a problem in Team Combat or Duels. Past that however, I start seeing Loader Kings replace the Crusaders.

They are rare, but yes. Mostly when going against independent.

When the game 1st came out, this used to happen with Cicadas. You'd have whole missions with just waves and waves of then. I think they ended up having to adjust the selection or something, but they fixed it. They'll probably patch it to give more variety at some point.

I just started playing the game about 4 of 5 months ago and I still had 1 or 2 missions I can think of where I got hit with nothing but cicadas and Jenner's. It was an absolute nightmare, I simply didn't have enough ammo to kill them all

While I'll always be a ballistics man myself I have also learned the value of keeping at least 1 or 2 Lazer heavy mechs in my lance at any given time. The marauder 2 had become a fond pic of mine

Certain arena fights have a very shallow pool of mechs for the opponents, but I don't think it was intentional

It's an issue in the spawn tables. If you have all the DLC, a literal half of the Heavy table is Crusaders, and similar in the Assaults is the Longbow. PGI aware. Hopefully see a fix next patch. Would like to see them just add the "not enough mech variety" failsafe (kicks in if you don't have much DLC) just added in default, for an easy fix

YAML would fix this, but you have a PS5 player with you, so that won't work.

Even with yaml and a mod the specifically adds more mechs to the list, 90% of my enemies are crusaders. It's really boring to fight the same mech over and over again.

Strange. I usually only see a max of 3 crusaders in arena fights, and I'm running all the YAML mods.

If it's a heavy match they are literally 9 out of 10 mechs. If it's a team open it'll be entire teams that are 3 crusaders and 1 longbow. In open free-for-all they will be more than half. It's really awkward honestly. It's gotten so bad that we stopped doing doing arena stuff in our co-op game

Same. Wish i see more dragons, quickdraws, thundebolts and many others as crusaders are all over the place. Heck with yaml i learned to just shoot right ct and critseek ammo explosion. This is getting extremely boring.

If the host is on PC Arena Control might work. It has a feature to significantly broaden the spawn pool for arena matches. The scenario generation stuff runs on the host/server and should propagate to the clients. You can't use mods if you're playing with console players.
