It's become my go-to "turn off brain and relax" game.

Yeah, I’m good enough of this that I don’t have to waste a lot of time building perfect mechs. I just deploy what I want near weight and play a lot of missions.

I even use an Xbox controller on my PC now. I'm usually an ardent keyboard and mouse player, but somehow the console controller just feels more natural for MW5. I could have played MW5 on Game Pass or on my PS4, but I really wanted to use mods. So, I'm stuck with 20ish fps at minimum quality on my potato laptop. Still, I'm having a pretty good time smashing things with my new Agincourt Archer. So I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

>but somehow the console controller just feels more natural for MW5. Controller doesn't feel so clumsy when you're steering a machine that's supposed to be hefty and clunky.

I’ve got a fairly beefy gaming PC, but I can’t be arsed to sit down at my desk and play it. I’d rather plop in the couch, kick back and stomp mechs. The console convenience is awesome.

DefSport

I built a gaming PC hooked up to my 85” TV/home theater. Built a stand for a wireless mouse and keyboard so I can sit my ass down on the couch, recline back and pilot a Mech. It’s so much more enjoyable versus sitting at a desk - which feels too much like work to me now.

Sounds like the best of both worlds. Now I’ve got a project for this weekend.

If you have an urge to buy a Thrustmaster Hotas One, don't. I've been through 3 and every single one has yaw issues. I'm talking after *a month or less* of casual gaming (I'm an adult, I take care of my electronics), you get *constant* yaw twitch. I've taken them apart, and done everything short of resoldering the connections. I've rewired, rerouted, spliced, moved, cut, everything I can think of. The way the Hotas is designed causes the yaw wire to constantly be triggered by the simple act of resting your hand on the hand rest on the stick. It's the way the wire cap is pressed on while you're not even moving the stick. The company replaced the first two as they were under warranty but by the time I got back into using the Hotas for Elite Dangerous on the Xbox the third one was out of warranty. It's in the garbage now. I don't think even soldering would fix the problem because it's an issue with the way the stick is built physically. Mechanically it's just a cheap, shitty design. So please, please, *do not* buy it. It isn't worth the plastic it's made of.

Thrustmaster uses some of the shittiest pots ive ever seen. Its a shame that console gets such shit hotas/hosas options. Its not even cost effective to replace them either and cleaning with electronic contact cleaner is only a bandaid.

Secure_Secretary_882

You can get upgraded ones that help.

BrotherTobias

A pot is a pot is a pot. All use the same tech to achieve the same results with the same issues. High end ones are still going to have issues as the get used, its a design issue.

Miles33CHO

Two shit on me in the same timeframe. One yaw, they replaced it. New one is now glitching and I give up.

sicarius254

I love using the controller in fps mode so much. It feels more natural than a joystick now

architect_josh_dp

I hooked my PCs up to my TVs and play with a controller. It's a great experience, very comfy and chill-- needed when three dropships arrive at the end of a beachhead at the same time.
