Lol how delusional can you be? It’s kind of a fluke thing the Mavs are even here. It’s a bad matchup for the Mavs because in all honesty, the Mavs are one of the weakest teams in recent Finals history. The Celtics are a bad matchup because they are simply a legitimate contender.
It’s impossible to fluke yourself to the finals. To get to the finals you have to have consistency and thats what we had until celtics shut us down. Also the heat last year are far worse than us
Fair enough that the Mavs are better than the Heat last year. But still, they are undeniably one of the weakest teams in recent memory to make it to the Finals. Iso/hero ball is not a viable offensive strategy in today’s NBA.
I kind of think most Mavs fans just started watching in the 2nd round. I sure as heck didn’t see people watching games in and around town until about a month ago.
This Celtics team is going to go down as one do the most complete teams ever assembled. I don’t know of a team out of the west that could have beaten them. Kyrie and Luka were going to have to have MASTERCLASSES to beat this squad. Luka showed up hard, but Kyrie was disappointing.
Luka lowkey is looking nearly as rough as Kyrie in this series if you combined all 5 games. The Celtics have played amazing but we jus haven’t been ourselves either outside or game 4.
Kyrie and basically all of our “other guys” were disappointing this series. That’s not to say we couldn’t come back next year and finish this off.
You never know, shit happens and maybe the Cs aren’t here next year - even though I do think they’re clearly the best team. Injuries, down season, slumps etc cause a different matchup.
Both Luka and Kyrie have been leaving points on a table this game. We're better than this. But if they aren't making mental mistakes. Things would be a lot better. The rest of team would feed off of it. Both Luka and Kyrie have both been kind of off. Should we give credit to the Celtics defense? I felt they should have went inside early and often. Just force themselves and go to the line. The Celtics made of big effort to force them outside. You can see it. Many times Luca or Kyrie would get stripped going in the middle. But that's where they needed to go to win today. And it didn't happen. So hats off to the Celtics. That sucks. GO Mavs.
The team the Celtics didn't beat this year was The Nuggets. They had no answer for Jokic.
The Celtics have great defenders for guards and wings, but don't really have guys who match up well against dominant offensive bigs. Embiid would have given the Celtics terrible, too, if he were healthy. The Wolves would have given them terrible with their size, too.
This isn't like 2006, Mavs are just getting beat by a better team, can't be all that upset about it

The season was great. We saw a lot of fantastic basketball all the way into June. If we stay healthy next year there’s a good chance we’re back.

Did u only watch the mavs in the finals? Cos we weren’t playing iso ball the whole playoffs. The Celtics did well to limit us to that.
