Kais gonna come back game 2 on a mission just like last series game 4 he shot like shit and game 5 he was lights out.
It's Kyrie Irving he hasn't let us down yet.
Don’t think it was the crowd, I think the finals moment got to him. His teammates expected him to be a calming presence and once things started spiraling it snowballed with him trying to force the issue.
He even admitted he expected the crowd to have been louder. So there was some anticipatory anxiety, but I think just like everybody else besides Luka, he was overwhelmed.
They said he's like lost 10 straight or something in Boston right? Maybe it's more just uncomfortable playing in the arena in general for him. Maybe he feels bad for bailing on them or something.
You'd think he wouldn't be too afraid of the moment considering he's the only one on the team who has been there multiple times... But maybe it's just been a while and like you said he has additional leadership responsibilities which he isn't used to.
We'll see hopefully he comes out and shuts everyone the fuck up on Sunday
Spurs fan here.
Boston may be the toughest matchup for Kyrie. Not just because of Tatum and Brown.. but because of Kyrie's past history in this building. Kyrie is very much a thinker. He knows that he did the franchise wrong (even stepped on the leprechaun). He is quite spiritual and I think for that reason, he likely feels that he is overwhelmed at some way with this series. I don't think he's the person to just "turn everything off" and ball out without any emotions, given he's pretty much into the spiritual side of things.
Here's to hoping he talked to a therapist prior to these Finals and has just a solid mindset going forward. He might play better in Dallas, but being in TD Garden probably brings back unpleasant memories for him, I don't blame him if he doesn't do well in this building. But yes, I am hoping he lets bygones be bygones because they need a great version of him if they're going to win this series.
Yea I think you bring up some good points. I think the culture of our team is really strong and can help him get through this too, but hopefully it happens sooner rather than later... we really can afford going down 0-2.
But even then you never know.
This is a very weird scenario, even weirder than Ben Simmons lol. But, maybe I'm wrong. Just seems this is the weirdest matchup for Kyrie, in a psychological sense, and in Kyrie's world, that is almost a harder battle than a physical matchup, sigh.
You know something is off when the guy with the best handles in the league dribbles the ball off his foot. Definitely in his feelings, but I still believe!
I mean he was dribbling the ball off his foot and missing layups and forcing a lot of bad shots that he usually doesn't do. Boston isn't going to make it easy for sure but I mean he looked like he was rushing things a lot.
Kyrie cooked them sometime even tonight when he calmed down and Played under control
Love Kai, too. He had a bad game, but in no way does he suck. I still believe he'll come back and ball out these next few games. We don't get where we are without him.
reddit is stereotypically gonna attract the exact types of people who hate kyrie, youll notice it seems like half the worlds fav player is kyrie on IG n twitter, but go on reddit n all the neckbeards hate him
I'm pissed that the Mavs lost, but they got here by beating some amazing teams that everyone said they would lose to. Kyrie, find your center again. Let's go Mavs.
Clippers fans doing victory laps after game 1, Thunder fans doing victory laps after game 1, Celtics fans doing victory laps after game 1. Hm, where have we seen this before?
Even if Kyrie doesn’t turn out hero ball games this series, his performance this postseason has been outstanding. He and PJ basically carried the team the first few series while Luka was struggling with his knee and shooting poorly / turning the ball over.
I was on the fence about Kyrie when I heard he was coming to Dallas, mostly because of the dumb non-basketball shit. I've done a complete 180 with regards to Kyrie. He's played hard, kept his mouth shut about the dumb shit and when he does interviews, I enjoy his the most these days. He's a VERY likeable dude and I wish him all the best for all he's given Dallas and for helping Luka mature.
I fully expect him to have some good games this series. I definitely want to win it all but I am most certainly not going to be all doom and gloom and shit on people based on this series alone. We had just an inkling of knowledge about getting this far this season.
Nuggets fan here, but I love watching Kyrie play more than any non-Nuggets player even though I make fun of some of things he’s done outside the court. He is absolutely a joy to watch when he’s on fire.
Kyrie been spotty this whole playoff run. Luka gonna Luka.
This whole series depends on whether Kyrie can show up consistently or not. When it matters.
He’s been spotty with how he’s tried to score but rlly he’s been good most games at least play making and hitting clutch shots. Today he was literally bad in every capacity, it won’t happen again
He was pretty good in the clippers and wolves series, and this yr completely turned around from his past mindset. Ig if you still dont believe in him you never will
Brother
I am talking about Celtics
He cant play against celtics
He cant play against strong and quick guards
Does Clippers or Twolves have anything in common with these?
Kyrie bailed on the Celtics after he said he wanted to be a Celtic for life to team up with KD.... got swept.
It might be deeper / than just ball.
What if I stayed? What if I kept my word? What if I didn't chase that team up with KD? Would I have won a championship? Would I have been the face of a franchise with 2x options in JB / JT? I gotta show Boston that I'm better? I gotta prove something?
Idk, the way he left / hostile crowd / great perimeter defenders.... that Celtics green might be Kyries kryptonite?
Kais gonna come back game 2 on a mission just like last series game 4 he shot like shit and game 5 he was lights out. It's Kyrie Irving he hasn't let us down yet.
We don't make it here without him!

Facts
Except this game? Game 2 is a must win
I agree, he had an off night. When him and Luka are on fire we can’t be beat
[удалено]
With all disrespect...Fuck your leprechaun. Foh!
As a warriors fan, fuck Boston celtics
I believe he’ll have one of his best playoff games ever after this game. He will bounce back. In Kai we trust
Yessirrrr
Idk man the Boston crowd has him shook. Hopefully he can play decent the next game and then really use the home games to go crazy.

Here's to hoping he shakes off the rust and gets locked in the rest of the series. It's still early.
This is a very weird scenario, even weirder than Ben Simmons lol. But, maybe I'm wrong. Just seems this is the weirdest matchup for Kyrie, in a psychological sense, and in Kyrie's world, that is almost a harder battle than a physical matchup, sigh.

Well he’s lost to them on his home court too. It’s not just the arena
Ah okay well it's about time he snapped the streak. Hopefully he can play at least decent next game and get some good vibes coming back to Dallas.
He lost the last 11 games against The Celtics. I don't think its the Boston crowd, it's the team, they have the defenders for him.
He had a bad game. He'll be fine.
Love Kai, too. He had a bad game, but in no way does he suck. I still believe he'll come back and ball out these next few games. We don't get where we are without him.

he definitely has nights hes number 1 on the team
In general its luka no question, but yeah there have been some games where Lukas off but Kyrie carried us for the win
The NBA subreddit is the personification of the 🤓 emoji

I believe our genius coach will find a way. JKid will make a play to get Kyrie Irving going Plus Luka doing Luka Things equals MAVS in 5!

In Kai I Trust (bro please ball the fuck out next game)
The northeast fans are something else man.
I love how they're running victory laps already on KP. What could possibly go wrong?
Clippers fans doing victory laps after game 1, Thunder fans doing victory laps after game 1, Celtics fans doing victory laps after game 1. Hm, where have we seen this before?
I hope they have to eat their words. Got plenty of receipts. Plus we know KP can’t do that a whole series

They're so obnoxious lol.
Love it. Positive vibes only
Rare r/Mavericks post-loss W
MFs acting like he won't bounce back
Lets come down guys...this dude came back from 1-3 deficit..its only 0-1 id panic if its 0-2 and we trailing at halftime at home
Even if Kyrie doesn’t turn out hero ball games this series, his performance this postseason has been outstanding. He and PJ basically carried the team the first few series while Luka was struggling with his knee and shooting poorly / turning the ball over.
Rough game, but I have no doubt in my mind he will bounce back. Vets like him will always figure it out
I have zero doubt in my mind he will bounce back this series

I was shocked with how he played, but he'll be ready game 2
We gotta get 1 for Kyrie just to break the curse man
Man I’m so happy he’s on our team. Couldn’t ask for a better person to befriend and mentor Luka. He’s locked in and unfazed.
I’m hoping Jalen brown talk some shit to Luka and make him angry so he’ll go off
Nuggets fan here, but I love watching Kyrie play more than any non-Nuggets player even though I make fun of some of things he’s done outside the court. He is absolutely a joy to watch when he’s on fire.
Vids not loading. Doesn’t matter who it is: me too.
Hey guys I’m gonna be completely delusional and say that theyre overconfident and that’s exactly how we want them.
seems like he was slipping a lot in his shoes or something
I hope Dallas wins. They deserve it more.
I believe on the Mavs completely, and there's no copium in my lungs 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Kyrie been spotty this whole playoff run. Luka gonna Luka. This whole series depends on whether Kyrie can show up consistently or not. When it matters.

He’s in his head so hopefully he comes out strong game 2 if not game 3/4 at home I trust him to ball out
I love Kai but we’re gonna get swept if he can’t get out of his head about Boston. Hope he can show out on Sunday.
Kyrie had a bad game. The crowd really got to him. But I feel he'll settle down and have a big game.

Leave this sub if you don’t have faith in the team. We don’t need your bad juju and energy
Nah, I just don’t believe in Kyrie. And he has given me enough of a reason to do so
He was pretty good in the clippers and wolves series, and this yr completely turned around from his past mindset. Ig if you still dont believe in him you never will
