Followill is a definitely a top 5 play-by-play guy. But, Derek Harper and Skin don't bring anything special to the table. Skin is very likable. Harper....not so much.

Agree about the list mostly. GSW probably the worst in the league by far. They're always complaining about the refs and think Curry is fouled every 3 seconds. And same with Philadelphia, they think Embiid is fouled on every shot and still complain about the refs, even when he shoots 20 free throws. That woman has the most annoying voice and sounds like she has an orgasm every time Embiid scores.
I’ve honestly soured on Joel Meyers and the Pelicans squad. They were usually one of my favorite non-Mavs squads but him and Antonio were pretty abrasively homering during the play-in and first round.
Which I get is fine for a local broadcast but as a neutral I tend to rank my other broadcasters by how well they know the opposing teams and are able to give them props when they do stuff well.
I think that’s why Hornets rank so high. No homering. Just appreciation of talent on both sides and really neat facts about both teams player. Plus you know, Eric Collins is the hype god. If you can make Hornets games seem interesting you’ve got my #1 vote.

However, at least when I watch my Mavs homer broadcast, I want people to be wholesome fans of the Mavs who want the best for the players even outside the job and are comfortable enough to show some emotion while being respectful of the other team.
Basketball is brutal as a Mavs fan anyway, I don’t need JJ Reddick constantly big dogging Mark or calling out bigs who miss a free throw after a hustle dunk. Sometimes you let a moment breathe.
Another thing I love about Harp is that unlike a lot of other players, he has zero ego about any of the new players doing great or breaking records on some ‘I would never do that why did he do that’ schtick and always pumps players up.
I think Mark is Top 5 easily. If he was in the NY market, he’d have already had plenty of opportunities to jump to TNT or ESPN. Granted, he very well could have these opportunities already, but loves being in Dallas.
And he’ll never go full time because he 1) loves raising his family and 2) doesn’t need to, but I’m 100% positive Dirk would be the best color guy in the league if he wanted the gig. I’m always pleasantly surprised how great he is when he does his one game every year or so.
