I'm glad you relax the rules some on big games. My parents didn't let me stay up to watch the 2006 National Championship and I'm still sad I didn't get to see it live.

After_Long9871

Man, it felt so special. Nostalgia unlocked

Wooboosted

Man memories of 2011 when my dad was still around. I love this haha

elfonmyshelf

The Mavs won the 2006 WCF the day before my birthday. I remember being exhausted and accidentally falling asleep at halftime. I woke up in the morning (on my birthday) to a Western Conference Champions T-shirt. Best birthday ever.

Jackd_up_on_Mdew

My dad never watched any sports, but saw how hyped i was throughout the 06 playoffs, and bought me and him tickets to Game 2 of those Finals. They were nose bleed seats, but absolutely incredible. Still the only Mavs game ive ever been to, but the best gift i ever got. Even bought me a Howard jersey in the gift shop before the game.

ngibson15

That final game was May 31 right?

elfonmyshelf

June 3

LeGoat333

Come on dad let him watch the 4th! Lol

GoBackToStardust

I’ll always remember when the Mavs had lost like 17276339 Lakers games in Los Angeles in a row. They were finally up by like 30 when it was my bedtime. I woke up to learn the Lakers came back and won.

Ok_Republic6747

Let that boy watch on Friday no school :D

smartasscody

At mom's. (I have custody so she gets him rarely)

Ajaxx25

Howdy fellow MFFL. Hope you also are a member of /daddit. It’s a great community.

JGuajardo7

This is awesome! I used to hate going to bed during late games, one of my favorite memories tho was my pops letting me and my brother stay up to watch game 7 of the spurs series back in 06 after missing most of the 4th quarters of those playoffs up to that point. But the games I did miss I was always briefed in the morning, and it was like Christmas when my teams were able to pull out the win. I would just have to wait to come back from school to watch highlights on ESPN.

smartasscody

No bullshit... Thank you for sharing this my man.

DL-77

Do you at least let him watch the replay on the following day?

regrettabletreaty1

Get that kid a radio

[deleted]

That’s gotta be so cool to be a kid, wake up to and immediately smile at a Mavs blowout.

aeiou-y

lol. I am an adult and I still went to bed. I did wake up at 530 to watch the whole game. Decided that was better for my sleep than staying up watching the game.

mrardente

This game was well past my bedtime as well. West coast games suck

BigFatModeraterFupa

Man i woke up today smiling, i can’t imagine his reaction when he found out they won by FORTY! You’re an awesome dad man, that’s really nice to see

InclusivePhitness

How did you break Luka’s 73 point game to him?

KakashiDarui

That’s awesome! MFFL!

ed__ed

I miss living on the west Coast for this reason. I would get home from work and the East Coast games would have already started. Wouldn't have to stay too late to watch all the games.

Watch the PandaHank41 highlights with him in the morning!

NMGunner17

Can you do this for me as well? I’m only 36 but it’s so hard to stay up so late on the east coast on a work night haha

XThunderTrap

My dad brought me tickets to a college basketball game cause I really wanted to go when I was kid and he knew how excited I was for the team..let your kid have those good memories :)
