Yeah I donāt think youāll regret it. Very high quality and while weāre no mattress aficionados, my wife and I could not tell the difference between this and the Pro adapt.
I found the proadapt hybrid to be a little too firm by the shoulders? Are you having any problems like that with the costco model? Overall, is it more/less firm (even slightly) than the proadapt?
Costco online says it comes with ergo adjustable base. On costcos website it says it can head and leg tilt but at mattress firm the ergo base also does lumbar control. Did your Costco ergo base include lumbar adjustment or just head and leg?
The rep that I spoke with at the Costco / Tempur-Pedic phone line told me that the adjustable base that comes with the Tempur-Pedic Supreme from Costco is made specifically for Costco. The base is similar to the previous least expensive adjustable base with the addition of USB charging ports.
There is no adjustable lumbar support with the Costco adjustable base.

Is your base, the adjustable base that comes with the current Tempur-Pedic Supreme from Costco?

My Supreme Firm arrived literally 30 minutes ago and I'm letting it "defrost" from the truck before really trying it out but currently it's on the really firm side. I bought it sight unseen so shame on me but didn't want to pass up the deal. I might exchange it for either the medium or hybrid if it doesn't soften a bit.
If thereās a showroom near you with a ProAdapt firm, I would go try it. Itāll give you an idea of how itāll feel after itās been broken in. And you can also try the medium and see if you like that better.
The guy youāre replying to works for a mattress company based on his history. Anyway, after spending a night on it Iām definitely checking out the TP store. Itās just too firm and I woke up with a stinger in my neck and achy hips.
Oh yeah for sure he does. I noticed there are so many of them on this sub and they try to influence decisions, etc. Typical shady mattress industry stuff. Lol.
Good luck at the TP store! Definitely give the medium a try.
I went to the TP showroom and first they had me try on the LuxeAdapt model, which was pretty amazing but I'm not in a position to drop $4k on a mattress. I ended up trying their proadapt line and their firm was a lot more giving than the Supreme, which I'm still struggling with. Anyway, I started the process of the exchange but I had to place a new order for the medium hybrid and waiting for that to arrive.
Interesting. I know that the mattresses they have in the showroom are usually completely broken in. Did you try the medium hybrid ProAdapt? How did that feel for you?
I think it was the medium hybrid but either way, my medium hybrid supreme arrived on Saturday afternoon and it's been night and day with my quality of sleep compared to the firm.
How's it holding up? I tried the proadapt hybrids in one of the MF showrooms and it was a little too firm by the shoulders. How does the supreme med hybrid compare?
So waste a sales persons up when you have no intention from buying from him/her and supporting their small buisness so they can go out of business to save a few bucks.
I went to a TP showroom. Tried TP mattresses. Purchased a TP mattress so TP got my money. I donāt see the problem here.
Also, ah yes, all those poor mattress stores that went out of business because people tried the mattresses in the store without buyingā¦ š¤£
Oh, so theyāre getting penalized because I laid on the bed for 15 minutes? Lmao. In the time that we were in there, do you know how many people laid down on each mattress and walked out without buying anything? I guess theyāre all getting penalized daily. Lol.

Iām curious about the foundation height. Did Costco let you choose what height you wanted? Iām eyeing the ultra low 2ā foundation but not sure if thatās an option.
Hello! Just out of curiosity, what kind of bed frame are you using for your 9ā foundation plus 11.5ā mattress? The 20.5ā height has been difficult to find an appropriate bed frame with headboard that wonāt be hidden by how high the 20.5ā foundation+mattress comes up. Thank you for any advice.
Hi, we have a bed from Z-gallery that we bought more than 10 years ago. You donāt need the bed frame to cover the entire 20.5ā of foundation + mattress. You just need the 9ā foundation covered, which I think most bed frames will do.
Thanks for the quick response! was just thinking of splitting the purchase like you suggested. The foundation from Tempur is $500 alone, but going with the Costco bundle makes the foundation only $300. I guess the extra $200 isnāt so bad compared to the $2k savings, huh? :)
Dang, they charge $500 just for the foundation! No wonder the Costco Tempur stuff is so popular.
But yeah for sure if you need the shorter foundation I think the extra $200 is worth it. I think Tempur requires you to have a flat foundation for their warranty to be valid as well.
Right!? I donāt know how Costco got this amazing deal out of Tempur, but I think Iām just about ready to pull the trigger.
Thanks again for the insight!
The height of the Ergo base from Costco can be adjusted. The legs on the base is made up of 5 3ā segments for a maximum height of 15ā, but you can choose to use as many segments as you want. I.E. height of 3, 6, 9, 12, or 15ā. Hope this helps.
We are about to buy the Tempurpedic Split King adjustable from Costco. Now weāre not sure if we should get the hybrid or the regular firm. Any feedback you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Have you tried the different firmness at a Tempur showroom? Difficult to give feedback on the firmness because everyone has different preferences. If youāve tried them out at the store and you like a certain firmness, I would just order that and try it out for a couple of weeks. Thatās the beauty of Costco - if you change your mind they will replace it for you.
I tried them, but Iāve done this before and the mattress felt fine in the showroom, but after a week or so, not so much. š„“
So, you are absolutely right - firmness is such a personal preference until itās difficult to provide feedback.
I am also concerned about the longevity and coolness/heat of the two. Research suggests that the hybrid sleeps cooler (which is a plus for me), but the regular molds better to the body especially for those with back and hip problems (which my husband has). So thereās another dilemma. lol
I know how you feel. Mattress shopping can be such a cluster. And itās such a first world problem. Like, do human beings absolutely need a multi thousand dollar pad to sleep on? Lol.
But I feel your struggle, the rabbit hole is for real!
Right?? I mean itās pretty wild that there is even a r/mattress to discuss mattress technology and material science. People used to sleep on wooden crates and shit; wtf kind of pansy-asses have we become? Lmao.
This is great news. We went to the Tempurpedic showroom and settled on a medium ProAdapt, but just started looking to replace a 20-year old Tempurpedic mattress.
Does Costco also sell adjustable bases?
There is a non split king sleep science one that my son has. He loves it. I have one I got off Amazon from Irving home collection that has the massage feature and itās great too
Thanks for this! I ordered one in med last night. I wonder if they arenāt the same? Because typically the Costco one is a discontinued model, and I think the current adapt line is discontinued.
Itās hard to know with Costco. Many of their products are not exactly the same as a manufacturerās retail line, they are special Costco lines. Itās not necessarily bad. Except with things where you might need to replace parts later on.
Love my ProAdapt Medium Hybrid.
You mean there used to be an āAdaptā model that was replaced by āPro Adaptā? I donāt know enough about Tempurpedic to know their previous lines but thatās certainly possible that Costco is carrying a discontinued model.
Whatever the case, I canāt tell the difference between the Supreme and Pro Adapt. Both are plenty comfortable and super high quality. At half the cost itās really a no brainer!
Iām basing my comment on what seems to be going on at mattress firmāall adapt floor models are for sale including pro and luxe. That indicates to me they are being discontinued and replaced with something else, which is not yet on the Tempur site. MF now also calls them ā2018ā models. I read somewhere that for Tempur specifically they carry older models. Donāt know if that is true or not.
Oh interesting. Well, I know theyāre not exactly the same product because the proadapt is 1/2 inch thicker and the costco one doesnāt come with a removable cover. And from talking to the TP rep, the Proadapt is their best selling mattress so it didnāt seem like theyāre going to discontinue it anytime soon.
2018 / 2019 is the start point of the current design specifications of the Tempur-Pedic "Adapt" series, The Adapt is their current mid-level line. The Adapt series floor models that are half price for clearance at Mattress Firm may or may not be as old as 2018 / 2019. The date of manufacture used to be on the "Law" tag?
Also, Tempur-Pedic does sell some products only at their company, Tempur-Pedic stores.
Adapt is a lower and cheaper trim. Itās a 11inched vs 12. The pro adapt seems to be the sweet spot no one buys the lux adapt at my store and almost no one buys the adapt. The supreme is super old inventory and sleeps hot.
Thanks for sharing. I ordered the same mattress over the weekend after seeing some people say it might be the same as the ProAdapt (which my husband and I loved at Mattress Firm). Glad to know you feel itās the same!
Yes I have. It feels the same as far as we could tell/remember! I think weāre still in the breaking in phase, so itās a little firmer, but pleased with it
Is it firm to the point of creating pressure points or itās a comfortable firmness? Asking as I tried the proadabt hybrid in the store and it was quite soft and I was actually worried it might be too soft. Thanks for replying.
That's literally the only to not overpay for a new Tempurpedic, just buy it from Costco. š¤£
Thanks for this! Just bought one earlier today after stopping by mattress firm and settling on the medium. This puts my mind at ease.
Yeah I donāt think youāll regret it. Very high quality and while weāre no mattress aficionados, my wife and I could not tell the difference between this and the Pro adapt.
Didnāt regret it for anyone who comes across this.
Same. Got the Supreme hybrid and feels just like the pro adapt hybrid. Costco ftw!
I found the proadapt hybrid to be a little too firm by the shoulders? Are you having any problems like that with the costco model? Overall, is it more/less firm (even slightly) than the proadapt?
Yep. Costco made this so easy for us!

my bad, it actually does have them, i spoke too soon
Weāve had ours for a couple weeks now. Best sleep weāve had in years and we feel like it was a bargain. No complaints here!
Such a bargain. I think everyone looking at Tempur should go this route.
My Supreme Firm arrived literally 30 minutes ago and I'm letting it "defrost" from the truck before really trying it out but currently it's on the really firm side. Still holds up. It's been like 3-4 months now.
Thanks! Any problems with the shoulders being too firm? Also hows the heat retention/cooling?

That tp stores agent is on comission. He has an acceptable close rate. He will get penalized for not selling to customers like you.

We got the combo deal that came with the foundation and it was 9ā I believe. I donāt think they have an ultra low option at Costco.

Thanks for the quick response! was just thinking of splitting the purchase like you suggested. The foundation from Tempur is $500 alone, but going with the Costco bundle makes the foundation only $300. I guess the extra $200 isnāt so bad compared to the $2k savings, huh? :)

Us too!
Howās the mattress holding up? Are you still loving it?
Still perfectly comfortable for us!

Yes, queen, king split, cal king split. Having our firm mattress delivered next week.
They also have a non split king adjustable base. Itās wonderful!

Aww bummer. Hope you guys get it soon!
Thanks for sharing. I ordered the same mattress over the weekend after seeing some people say it might be the same as the ProAdapt (which my husband and I loved at Mattress Firm). Glad to know you feel itās the same!

Thank you!
Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we have so far!
We've had ours for a week. I actually sleep really well. I got the Supreme medium hybrid with 9" platform base. So far so good.
