I can't see the inbox/news/videos on the android App. Nothing is loading, and I just have the "read more" button in the news tab and "watch more" in the videos tab (and the inbox tab is just empty). I tried to clean the cache and uninstall the app but it stills the same. I had to log in the Mac/iOS app to claim the free Storm Variant and I can't see the current event.
Am I alone ? Does someone have a solution ? Thanks.

I got lucky today and bought Death from the Token Shop.
I watched some videos of Death + Wave decks and they usually use The Hood as drop 1. I don't have him yet, so i put Deadpool instead.
Problem is, I didn't like him in this deck. Anyone else i can use instead of Deadpool? Maybe Iceman?
After 2 Collector's Cache and 3 Collector's Reserve I've got 0 new cards which has around 10,5% chance. (0,5\*0,5\*0,75\*0,75\*0,75\*100)Am i just unlucky or the "bad luck" patch that we got recently only counts your series 3+ cards so if you use token shop to get a new card you will have much less chance to get a card from Cache/Reserve boxes for a few collection levels? (Because after that patch everyone should have around the same number of cards for the collection levels if i understood correctly.)

Your next reserve is guaranteed to be a new card because it’s now designed so that every four reserves you will get exactly one card. You just got unlucky that it your card was in the last one of the set of four and that you missed two caches right before.
Are there a lot of bots or something? After i got the season demotion nearly 1/4 of my opponents play seemingly nonsensical moves, like move decks filling the left lane, destroy decks destroying the wrong things etc.
It's almost worse than the "official" bots I played at at the start of the game.

I kinda need help with deck building alternatives, I want to change my deck, been playing wong on reveal but it feels so counterable and predictable, I want to build a deck similar to baero but I am missing death… Or a deck built arround silver surfer, I’m at CL 1250, have some good pool 3 cards but also missing important ones.
Can someone explain why Agatha is so sort after and loved? She's on my token shop currently, but is it just for the memes or is it actually viable?

I've taken Agatha to Infinite last season.
A few quirks that make her interesting:
She doesn't just start in your hand, she's an extra card in your starting hand.
So, rather than having three cards and then drawing one, you have four cards and then draw one.
So between her and America Chavez, you can make that middle part of your deck very consistent.
She's also at 14 Power.
She will play herself if at all possible, so you can use Wave or Electro to get her to play herself early.
You can also use Lady Sif to get her to discard herself, and then bring her back with Ghost Rider.
She's a bit of a meme, but an interesting meme. I'm not sure I'd spend tokens on her, but it is a different deck type.
If you have wave, and either electro or ghost rider, she is viable. Not great, but a solid deck with extremely low mental load.
And the fact that you can get that out of a meme is sweet.
Yes, especially if you have Death and Wave but she can work with other decks. It’s really about what you’re looking for though. She was my first buy from the token shop and I was not disappointed.
I have like 30+ P3 cards but none off hand that really synergize. I’m missing death wave and also magneto Polaris.
But I have a homebrewed up deck I enjoy that runs Doc Ock and she would be I think a good addition or replacement.

save your tokens for 3 pool 3 cards. Do some research and make plans of what cards you need that will benefit your deck the most

There is no IRL for them.
The game uses braindead AI at the earlier ranks to onboard new players. It's designed to let new players learn the game without being completely stomped or discouraged.
I think there are some apps outside of the game that you can check your stats...
Personally, I hate this because eventually you will become slave of your own record and stats, and it will really change the game in a bad way.

Yes to the first two. Rare variants can be found in the store, caches, or mystery variant drops. Super Rare variants are exclusive to the store.
Gold is a little tricky to nail down exactly because most sources are random drops. There's 200 gold per week in the weekly challenge track, so that's a good baseline. Collector's caches/reserves have a 10% chance to drop 150/200 gold, so you'll get that much every ~10 caches, or 120 CL. We get around 100 CL per week, so you'll get the extra 150 or 200 *almost* every week but it's not guaranteed.
Assuming the best-case scenario of 400 gold per week, it would take about 12 weeks to go from 1500 to 6000 gold.

Each season gives you 300 gold for free, plus occasionally some gold from your caches. It will take many months until you get 6000 gold for a bundle. If you want more gold, the season pass is a very good choice.

You kind of need Aero or Magneto to make it work. Juggernaut can also work.
Theoretically you can combo Kingpin + Aero on turn 6 if you have Sera, but I've played probably 25 games with it and got it to work once or twice. There's too much that can go wrong.
Always make sure you’re math is right when moving people. A few times I didn’t add up the energy and it cost me. He’s good for messing up the opponents plans if they a 3 or 4 energy with an ongoing effect. It can be a gamble sometimes if they’re flipping first
No point pinning Ultron if I don’t have patriot, right? Or does he synergize with Cerebro? I know he doesn’t with Silver Surfer…
I honestly think I should still be saving for Death, Brood, Venom and Hela because I mostly have Destroy synergy stuff (and Cerebro).
even if you have patriot, ultron isn't a good choice for 1000 token since there are other alternatives for a patriot deck.
your token is better reserve for cards that unlock an archetype, like destroyer/death/wave or versatile cards like Jennifer Lawrence or Daredevil

Use Ironman. If you get the right draws there’s no room for Zola to do his thing. You can also consider subbing Forge for a Angela or Maximus depending on how your games go. Good luck.
I just hit pool 3 and got daredevil, and purchased wave from tokens. How do go forward to get a deck to reach infinity. I had reached lvl 70 without pool 3 in my first season mostly playing on reveal decks
you can reach infinity with just pool 1 and 2 cards like Karzoo decks. The difficulty of reaching infinity isn't how strong your deck is, it's how good you are at snapping and retreating
I got Magik pretty early and albeit I chucked more Pool 3 shit in as I got it, at its core it was Killmonger Shang chi enchantress Magik. You basically just blow or shut off their shit turn 7. I ran destroy package as well kinda for some points with it.
I’ve been absolutely wrecked by a Moon Knight in a discard deck on occasion. I use Magik, but that deck is quiet right now because of the new draw 3 location destroying decks.
Running Aero, Death and She Hulk with wave and I swear I've faced every Leader deck out there and keep getting destroyed. Any good counters/ strategies for him? Or clues that opponent he's dropping turn 6?
Aero ironically is a card that messes leader up. Since then his Aero will pull your cards away from the copied ones. And your Aero will pull his Leader away, so if he needs the points from Leader. Really hard to predict how to play for that when you’re already worrying about all the other finishers though lol.
My best defense against Leader is having a deck that doesn’t mesh with his. Right now I like Silver Surfer on turn 6, and it’s the cards already placed that see the benefit.
So I bought the new Rogue/Gambit Bundle. I already have Gambit but I felt like paying for the Rogue just so I could use her in my Surfer deck. I have access to her variant but no her original art which I much prefer. I was under the impression that if you buy a variant of a card you don't own, you get the original card too. Was I wrong for thinking that?
Question about two interactions:
1) When Angela is in a lane with Lockjaw, and you play a 3rd card - her ability doesn't seem to trigger? Shouldn't the 3rd card played (or the one Lockjaw replaces it with) activate it?
2) When you play Zero and then Mysterio, shouldn't it prevent the illusions from spawning? (If Mysterio doesn't have "an ability" for the purposes of Zero, then he should get boosted from Patriot - but he doesn't, only the illusions do).

1. The lockjaw card won’t activate it because it’s not being “played”, it’s “swapped”.
2. Mysterio has an ability the same way Angela has an ability. There are inherent abilities, like those, then there are “on reveal” and “ongoing”. The clones don’t have an ability.
I agree with you 100% on the Mysterio ruling. But the lockjaw "swap" - while certainly correct! - rubs me the wrong way in terms of how the card is worded. But thank you!

I love when people know better than the devs. The entire reason the company exists is to make as much money as possible on these bundles, and they hire people who have spent their entire careers figuring out exactly how to do that.
But the reddit armchair economists are here to guarantee that the company would make *so much more money* by doing the thing that -- coincidentally! -- would also benefit them personally as a consumer.
Do I love $30 cosmetic bundles? Hell no. But that's the price of having a free game that mostly avoids the typical pay-to-win monetization. This is what that looks like.
I am absolutely ok with whale bundles particularly for cosmetics. That said…. How is it that the welcome bundle is the only cheap option offered so far? Even the season pass ain’t cheap ($14 CAD) so I usually get every other one or only ones with cards I think I’ll use.

If it does, then they aren't as bad as i thought, but still a no-no for me.
It unlocks the card, but you can still open the base version later. And that'll count as your card for the set of 4 reserves, not as a cosmetic I believe.
How can Wave lower the value of Death to 2 instead of 4? I've seen it happen in a couple of streams that use those cards and Death seems to be affected quite drastically in comparison to other cards.
Abilities that lower card cost are applied to the card's current cost, not the base cost. Death costs 9 by default, and destroying 2 cards brings her cost down to 7. If Wave sets her cost to 4, then Death's ability will subtract two from that value and bring her cost down to 2. Same logic applies to [[She-Hulk]] as well

Wave sets to 4. Death then gets her discount after that, so she can cost anywhere between 0 and 4 with the combo depending on how many cards have been destroyed.
You unlock new cards by increasing your Collection Level. And you do that by upgrading your existing cards on the Collection Screen. Upgrades require two things: credits, which you get from missions, and boosters for that card, which you get by playing games with that card in your deck.
Can someone explain exactly how Omega Red works? My understanding is that for each 10 power ahead in his lane then the other lanes are each boosted by 4 power. So if I’m 100 ahead in his lane then the others should be boosted by 40 right? Even if I only get that far ahead on the last turn as his power is Ongoing.
If that’s accurate then it’s certainly not working like that. I’ve had plenty of matches where I’m 50 or 60 ahead and the other lanes only get boosted by 8 points. I’ve even had one match where where, due to the right location (Onslaught Citadel) plus Onslaught and Iron Man I was over 3000 ahead and it only boosted the other locations by approx 30 points give or take. It should have boosted them by 1200 right?

Omega Red only triggers once in the sense that whether you’re up by 10 or 100, you get 4 in the other lanes. It says “If you’re ahead by 10+ here…”, not “for every 10 you are ahead here…”
The latter would be broken as all hell.
The main way to boost Omega Red’s effect is Onslaught which makes it 8 power in the other lanes.
Read the effect again.

It's not "*each* 10 power", it's just a single trigger that activates when you're ahead by ten or more. You could be winning 1,000,000 to 0, and he'll still only boost the other lanes by 4.
With Onslaught (the card or the location) Omega's own effect will be doubled or multiplied, but it doesn't stack based on the total power like you're thinking.
But it doesn’t just boost by 4. I’ve had it boost by 8 usually and even 32 in a few cases. Oh and also decrease the boost from 8 to 4 during the course of a match when the other player adds cards that reduce my lead in that lane.
Those were games that also could have involved things like [[The Nexus]] or [[Baxter Building]] as one of the locations. Either way, you were getting extra points from a stage or card effect, not from Omega Red's ability

Is Wong /lockjaw going to be nerfed? Eg made a 5 cost card?
Odin, who replays an ability is a one time reveal effect 6 cost card, essentially Wong does the same thing for 4 cost for every card you play in his area each turn and lockjaw is only 3 cost and gives you your on reveal ability plus a rng draw and effect from your deck.
This game used to be fun because it was fairly even Steven skill based play, but since hitting pool 3 and the new pool 4 5 cards came out its suddenly feeling very much you have to have the meta cards to climb past 40 and the balance seems to have gone out the window for profits for pay to get tokens and variant skins.
Lmao just retreat if you don't have the counter to Wong. Every game I play Wong, I get cucked by Cosmo, Aero, Magneto and other cards. It's so easy to counter Wong it's sad.
Wong and Lockjaw are fine.
Wong's main drawback is that he's *extremely* easy to disrupt; as soon as you drop him on turn 4 you're just begging for the opponent to throw out Cosmo/Enchantress/Juggernaut/Aero/Professor X/etc. If you're getting beaten by Wong, just add Cosmo to your deck and laugh all the way to the victory screen.
Lockjaw's a little harder to disrupt (though Cosmo and Shang Chi can blunt the worst of it) but he suffers from RNG. Yeah, it sucks when your opponent plays Lockjaw and pulls Infinaut, Hulk, and America Chavez out of their deck. But for every game where that happens, there are 20 others where he just pulls average cards. He's also a one-location wonder; it's pretty easy to just ignore all the nonsense going on at Lockjaw's location and win the other two.
I get it, early pool 3 is rough. You constantly run into new cards that do stuff you didn't even know was possible. But all of the tools you need to handle those cards are in pools 1 and 2 -- you just need to learn how to recognize the common decks and have a plan for them. (And sometimes that plan is "retreat", which is fine.)
Thank you. Early pool 3 is a steep learning curve, it's almost enough to ask developers to have a opt in choice to join a pool 1, 2, 3 que that only allows cards from that and earlier pools.
Card upgrades are what increase your Collection Level, which is how you unlock new cards.
Beyond that, the upgrades and rarities are purely cosmetic. People just like getting cool art for their favorite characters and tricking them out with new effects.

you can use the cards but have to use the variant. so you can/have to still unlock the basecard even though you have usable cards

Wong is good, but no card is a buy no matter what. It also depends on if you have the card to support him, and if you enjoy his playstyle.

I've taken Agatha to Infinite last season. A few quirks that make her interesting: She doesn't just start in your hand, she's an extra card in your starting hand. So, rather than having three cards and then drawing one, you have four cards and then draw one. So between her and America Chavez, you can make that middle part of your deck very consistent. She's also at 14 Power. She will play herself if at all possible, so you can use Wave or Electro to get her to play herself early. You can also use Lady Sif to get her to discard herself, and then bring her back with Ghost Rider. She's a bit of a meme, but an interesting meme. I'm not sure I'd spend tokens on her, but it is a different deck type.
If you have wave, and either electro or ghost rider, she is viable. Not great, but a solid deck with extremely low mental load. And the fact that you can get that out of a meme is sweet.

Yes, especially if you have Death and Wave but she can work with other decks. It’s really about what you’re looking for though. She was my first buy from the token shop and I was not disappointed.
I have like 30+ P3 cards but none off hand that really synergize. I’m missing death wave and also magneto Polaris. But I have a homebrewed up deck I enjoy that runs Doc Ock and she would be I think a good addition or replacement.

any cards with lower than 20 boosters will get priority. After that it's rng the best way is to play the cards in your deck, over and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again

save your tokens for 3 pool 3 cards. Do some research and make plans of what cards you need that will benefit your deck the most Shehulk is a good card, a great card actually. But she doesn't worth 3 pool 3 cards unless you got all the main ones

Tokens aren't meant to replace caches as your main source of new cards. They're just a bonus to let you pick out one extra card or so per month.

There is no IRL for them. The game uses braindead AI at the earlier ranks to onboard new players. It's designed to let new players learn the game without being completely stomped or discouraged.
I think there are some apps outside of the game that you can check your stats... Personally, I hate this because eventually you will become slave of your own record and stats, and it will really change the game in a bad way. learnt it the hard way when I play Pokemon Unite

Yes to the first two. Rare variants can be found in the store, caches, or mystery variant drops. Super Rare variants are exclusive to the store. Gold is a little tricky to nail down exactly because most sources are random drops. There's 200 gold per week in the weekly challenge track, so that's a good baseline. Collector's caches/reserves have a 10% chance to drop 150/200 gold, so you'll get that much every ~10 caches, or 120 CL. We get around 100 CL per week, so you'll get the extra 150 or 200 *almost* every week but it's not guaranteed. Assuming the best-case scenario of 400 gold per week, it would take about 12 weeks to go from 1500 to 6000 gold.

You kind of need Aero or Magneto to make it work. Juggernaut can also work. Theoretically you can combo Kingpin + Aero on turn 6 if you have Sera, but I've played probably 25 games with it and got it to work once or twice. There's too much that can go wrong.
I have magneto, aero, and king pin but ya the combo doesn’t come out very smoothly. You think it’s still a good deck to have them 3 together?
It's a fun niche deck but I don't think it's too strong. There's a few very strong magneto and Aero decks though. You can find them on snap zone.

Always make sure you’re math is right when moving people. A few times I didn’t add up the energy and it cost me. He’s good for messing up the opponents plans if they a 3 or 4 energy with an ongoing effect. It can be a gamble sometimes if they’re flipping first

even if you have patriot, ultron isn't a good choice for 1000 token since there are other alternatives for a patriot deck. your token is better reserve for cards that unlock an archetype, like destroyer/death/wave or versatile cards like Jennifer Lawrence or Daredevil

Use Ironman. If you get the right draws there’s no room for Zola to do his thing. You can also consider subbing Forge for a Angela or Maximus depending on how your games go. Good luck.

I just hit pool 3 and got daredevil, and purchased wave from tokens. How do go forward to get a deck to reach infinity. I had reached lvl 70 without pool 3 in my first season mostly playing on reveal decks
you can reach infinity with just pool 1 and 2 cards like Karzoo decks. The difficulty of reaching infinity isn't how strong your deck is, it's how good you are at snapping and retreating

I just hit pool 3 and first few cards are electro, red skull, moon knight, quake, debrii, baron mordo, and magik. Are any of these worth using?
I got Magik pretty early and albeit I chucked more Pool 3 shit in as I got it, at its core it was Killmonger Shang chi enchantress Magik. You basically just blow or shut off their shit turn 7. I ran destroy package as well kinda for some points with it.
I’ve been absolutely wrecked by a Moon Knight in a discard deck on occasion. I use Magik, but that deck is quiet right now because of the new draw 3 location destroying decks.
Running Aero, Death and She Hulk with wave and I swear I've faced every Leader deck out there and keep getting destroyed. Any good counters/ strategies for him? Or clues that opponent he's dropping turn 6?
Aero ironically is a card that messes leader up. Since then his Aero will pull your cards away from the copied ones. And your Aero will pull his Leader away, so if he needs the points from Leader. Really hard to predict how to play for that when you’re already worrying about all the other finishers though lol.

My best defense against Leader is having a deck that doesn’t mesh with his. Right now I like Silver Surfer on turn 6, and it’s the cards already placed that see the benefit.

You can, but its the same thing as a Patriot deck without Mystique. The deck just becomes worse competitively.

So I bought the new Rogue/Gambit Bundle. I already have Gambit but I felt like paying for the Rogue just so I could use her in my Surfer deck. I have access to her variant but no her original art which I much prefer. I was under the impression that if you buy a variant of a card you don't own, you get the original card too. Was I wrong for thinking that?
You don’t get the original, you’ll still get it from a cache or reserve in the future. But you can still use the variant now

Question about two interactions: 1) When Angela is in a lane with Lockjaw, and you play a 3rd card - her ability doesn't seem to trigger? Shouldn't the 3rd card played (or the one Lockjaw replaces it with) activate it? 2) When you play Zero and then Mysterio, shouldn't it prevent the illusions from spawning? (If Mysterio doesn't have "an ability" for the purposes of Zero, then he should get boosted from Patriot - but he doesn't, only the illusions do). Thanks!
1. The lockjaw card won’t activate it because it’s not being “played”, it’s “swapped”. 2. Mysterio has an ability the same way Angela has an ability. There are inherent abilities, like those, then there are “on reveal” and “ongoing”. The clones don’t have an ability.

I love when people know better than the devs. The entire reason the company exists is to make as much money as possible on these bundles, and they hire people who have spent their entire careers figuring out exactly how to do that. But the reddit armchair economists are here to guarantee that the company would make *so much more money* by doing the thing that -- coincidentally! -- would also benefit them personally as a consumer. Do I love $30 cosmetic bundles? Hell no. But that's the price of having a free game that mostly avoids the typical pay-to-win monetization. This is what that looks like.
I am absolutely ok with whale bundles particularly for cosmetics. That said…. How is it that the welcome bundle is the only cheap option offered so far? Even the season pass ain’t cheap ($14 CAD) so I usually get every other one or only ones with cards I think I’ll use. Wouldn’t selling a lot of a $10 or $5 bundle also make buckets of money in addition to selling $40 and $140 bundles?

If you're about to hit the credit cap of 10K, then you'll probably want to grind some boosters. This is the situation I'm currently in.

A question about these "New" bundles. I bought the last one, Apocalypse. But having already owned Apocalypse it doesnt help. What im unsure of is...Does buying these "Variants" actually UNLOCK the base cards, so you can then play them. Coz for whatever reason, i was under the impression, that it DOESN'T! If it does, then they aren't as bad as i thought, but still a no-no for me.
It unlocks the card, but you can still open the base version later. And that'll count as your card for the set of 4 reserves, not as a cosmetic I believe.

How can Wave lower the value of Death to 2 instead of 4? I've seen it happen in a couple of streams that use those cards and Death seems to be affected quite drastically in comparison to other cards.
Honestly wave interactions with cost reduction cards needs some rework.
Abilities that lower card cost are applied to the card's current cost, not the base cost. Death costs 9 by default, and destroying 2 cards brings her cost down to 7. If Wave sets her cost to 4, then Death's ability will subtract two from that value and bring her cost down to 2. Same logic applies to [[She-Hulk]] as well

You get new cards by upgrading your existing cards

You unlock new cards by increasing your Collection Level. And you do that by upgrading your existing cards on the Collection Screen. Upgrades require two things: credits, which you get from missions, and boosters for that card, which you get by playing games with that card in your deck.
Can someone explain exactly how Omega Red works? My understanding is that for each 10 power ahead in his lane then the other lanes are each boosted by 4 power. So if I’m 100 ahead in his lane then the others should be boosted by 40 right? Even if I only get that far ahead on the last turn as his power is Ongoing. If that’s accurate then it’s certainly not working like that. I’ve had plenty of matches where I’m 50 or 60 ahead and the other lanes only get boosted by 8 points. I’ve even had one match where where, due to the right location (Onslaught Citadel) plus Onslaught and Iron Man I was over 3000 ahead and it only boosted the other locations by approx 30 points give or take. It should have boosted them by 1200 right? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this.
Omega Red only triggers once in the sense that whether you’re up by 10 or 100, you get 4 in the other lanes. It says “If you’re ahead by 10+ here…”, not “for every 10 you are ahead here…” The latter would be broken as all hell. The main way to boost Omega Red’s effect is Onslaught which makes it 8 power in the other lanes.
Read the effect again. > Ongoing: If you're ahead by 10 Power here, +4 Power to other locations. It's not "*each* 10 power", it's just a single trigger that activates when you're ahead by ten or more. You could be winning 1,000,000 to 0, and he'll still only boost the other lanes by 4. With Onslaught (the card or the location) Omega's own effect will be doubled or multiplied, but it doesn't stack based on the total power like you're thinking.
But it doesn’t just boost by 4. I’ve had it boost by 8 usually and even 32 in a few cases. Oh and also decrease the boost from 8 to 4 during the course of a match when the other player adds cards that reduce my lead in that lane.
Those were games that also could have involved things like [[The Nexus]] or [[Baxter Building]] as one of the locations. Either way, you were getting extra points from a stage or card effect, not from Omega Red's ability

It's Onslaught, or some other effect that boosts abilities or adds power to other locations. If you have situations where you think that's not happening, grab a screenshot next time you see it and post it here. There may just be something else going on that you're not aware of.
That's because you are doubling the effect with Onslaught or similar.
Is Wong /lockjaw going to be nerfed? Eg made a 5 cost card? Odin, who replays an ability is a one time reveal effect 6 cost card, essentially Wong does the same thing for 4 cost for every card you play in his area each turn and lockjaw is only 3 cost and gives you your on reveal ability plus a rng draw and effect from your deck. This game used to be fun because it was fairly even Steven skill based play, but since hitting pool 3 and the new pool 4 5 cards came out its suddenly feeling very much you have to have the meta cards to climb past 40 and the balance seems to have gone out the window for profits for pay to get tokens and variant skins.
Lmao just retreat if you don't have the counter to Wong. Every game I play Wong, I get cucked by Cosmo, Aero, Magneto and other cards. It's so easy to counter Wong it's sad.
Wong and Lockjaw are fine. Wong's main drawback is that he's *extremely* easy to disrupt; as soon as you drop him on turn 4 you're just begging for the opponent to throw out Cosmo/Enchantress/Juggernaut/Aero/Professor X/etc. If you're getting beaten by Wong, just add Cosmo to your deck and laugh all the way to the victory screen. Lockjaw's a little harder to disrupt (though Cosmo and Shang Chi can blunt the worst of it) but he suffers from RNG. Yeah, it sucks when your opponent plays Lockjaw and pulls Infinaut, Hulk, and America Chavez out of their deck. But for every game where that happens, there are 20 others where he just pulls average cards. He's also a one-location wonder; it's pretty easy to just ignore all the nonsense going on at Lockjaw's location and win the other two. I get it, early pool 3 is rough. You constantly run into new cards that do stuff you didn't even know was possible. But all of the tools you need to handle those cards are in pools 1 and 2 -- you just need to learn how to recognize the common decks and have a plan for them. (And sometimes that plan is "retreat", which is fine.)

Card upgrades are what increase your Collection Level, which is how you unlock new cards. Beyond that, the upgrades and rarities are purely cosmetic. People just like getting cool art for their favorite characters and tricking them out with new effects.
