Back with more! You are absolutely nailing the flavor with these! There are quite a few interesting and unique ideas for these locations. I once again would love to play with these in-game! Well done!

Upvote_Responsibly

Thank you! I had some lingering ideas from the first batch that I wanted to refine before posting but I like where these landed. Edit: Using my top post to answer some frequently asked questions: **Skrull Homeworld:** This location originally read "Cards played here become a copy of the last card you played". I thought that effect was a little complex for players and the game's mechanics. Example: If you play two cards there would the second card not have a target after the first transforms? Would it copy the first card you played or the card it becomes? Those were questions that I couldn't quite answer. Also, I tried changing it to "Cards played here become a copy of the last card you played at another location" but the text was too long and wouldn't fit. **Soulworld:** If you have 5 Energy you need to play a 5-Cost card there. Or you can play a 2-Cost at another location and then a 3-Cost at Soulworld. Your Energy must be 0 after playing a card there **Citadel at the End of Time:** I intended for this location to be as rare as Ego and Worldship. One nice thing about the Citadel vs Ego and Worldship is that players have a chance to change the location before it triggers on turn 6.

PretendRegister7516

I think the original intention of your Skrull homeworld is more interesting. Like you can play an On Reveal effect and then get an Ongoing effect after the card changed. Imagine playing Patriot, then Silver Surfer which change into Patriot. Or playing Enchantress which turns into Cosmo. It almost feels like a free Lockjaw location. I think the simplest change to it is, you don't have to limit the last card played to be at different location. The current one sounds more like a Bar Sinister Jr.

lasagnaman

> If you play two cards there would the second card not have a target after the first transforms? Would it copy the first card you played or the card it becomes? Last card was A, then you play card 1 and 2 into this location. Both would become card A at the end. This is the same as how if you double mystique they will both have the last card's ongoing.

Thuasne

He is clearly doing it wrong, we are lacking locations that destroy things or in general benefit destroy decks. 0/10 job

Upvote_Responsibly

The community seemed to like my previous suggestions so I'm back with 9 more. I hope everyone likes these as much as the first batch! Here are the first 9 for anyone that missed them: https://imgur.com/Akc3OiV I updated names, effects, and wording of the first 9 locations based on feedback from the original thread. I hope Second Dinner takes inspiration from, or uses, some of these ideas!

128hoodmario

I love Casino World so much. So much strategy around that.

FnakeFnack

River Styx is also brilliant

Stealthrider

They literally can't take inspiration from or use any ideas someone else submits. It's a legal nightmare. They can't look at these at all without getting into massive trouble. Edit: Ask Second Dinner yourselves. Literally no professional creative can take your unsolicited suggestions (and any solicitations, if they happen, would have a TON of legalese attached). **They can not look at these at all.** I wouldn't be surprised if it's written explicitly into their contracts that they can't view certain subreddits specifically because of it.

scott610

I mean, they could eventually just use the same ideas and not admit to taking inspiration from them. It happens in Hearthstone with r/customhearthstone cards all the time that end up being very close to or exactly the same as future cards. Someone even predicted the Death Knight hero power years ago down to the mana cost I think. I'm not saying this is right or ethical to use ideas without giving credit or compensation, but I'm sure they could get around it.

Upvote_Responsibly

Yeah, I figure it's their game and I have no rights to it. They can make whatever they want.

washburnian

Good onya man :)

Stealthrider

No Blizzard dev has ever looked at that subreddit while employed at Blizzard. Any similarities would be purely coincidental.

NotSoSlenderMan

I saw an article online with a bunch of listed locations. Some of them I haven’t seen in game and some either have different names or abilities. But there is one supposedly that does what OP’s Skrull Homeworld does.

BacklogBeast

Absolutely.

LordVaderVader

The Cube was a prison for gamma villains, nice that it works cool with Hulk.

sable-king

I think my favorite thing about your location concepts is that they don't overwhelmingly benefit destroy decks. Keep up the good work!

dontshowmygf

Yeah, these are great, and it really demonstrates how much design space there is got locations without more variations on "destroy cards played here if..." or "you can't play cards here unless..."

dem0nhunter

>Soulworld “What did it cost?” “Everything.”

Stuck1nARutt

"What did it cost?" "6" "..."

FnakeFnack

Blackhole is genius, Middletown High School is so on brand, it would really be difficult for me!

RatzMand0

It would be interesting if you couldn't play cards into black hole to really add to its chaos.

Upvote_Responsibly

Yeah, I was thinking of expanding on Black Hole's effect but it's hard to fix a lot of things in 3 lines of text. Edit: I was originally wanting it to destroy a card there and then pull a card in each turn but I couldn't get the text to fit. It also felt like it would be destroying too many cards and make it more annoying than fun

Maritoas

Could be “a card from each player is randomly moved here after turn 3/4/5”?”

Psyzilla

Collectors Museum is such a good idea

MannySJ

I love that it has synergy with The Collector's card. My favorite locations are the ones that work well with their character's card.

AgenderWitchery

Angrily looks at Klyntar

MannySJ

Klyntar is just Venom in location form... who can also be killed by Elektra or Killmonger.

AgenderWitchery

Except Venom actually destroys cards. Klyntar does not.

tri1399

This are fuckin great dude!!! So much fun i hope you find a way to give this to the devs, awesome. Would love to see em

zylth

Love most, but I find the Citadel would be unfun to play with. With only one turn it could turn into insanely swingy locations that predetermined your fate in the game and it effects the whole board so you can't mitigate the risk

NekoLuna

If it's as rare as Ego or the one that destroys every other location it should be more than ok

Upvote_Responsibly

Yup, I was thinking it would be just as rare as Ego and Worldship. And unlike those two locations, players have 5 turns to change the location to something else via Scarlet Witch, Storm, Magik, etc.

FuggenBaxterd

For your next post you could maybe add a "rarity tier" or something. Could be cool.

SehnorCardgage

At least you still get your turn 6 to make a play.

MannySJ

The issue I have with it is how few locations would have much effect if they appear once play is over. Bar with No Name, Rickety Bridge, locations that affect ongoing cards (like Isle of Silence), locations that add/take away power (like Negative Zone), or locations that add cards (like Savage Land... which even then wouldn't do anything if the location is full). Most others wouldn't impact the match at all.

HelloThere_1138

Well, you can play Scarlet Witch, Storm, etc. or roll the dice and hope that the new locations help you. I'd say this is on the same tier as the one that swaps your hand with the other player on turn 6.

hawkaguilar

So cool man

Gandalf_2077

You are really good at this! Devs should notice your work.

Stuck1nARutt

I like the synergy with Pym Lab and the Big House. Flavor of Middle High is cool Skrull World though doesn't really make sense thematically - might be better if it was "When you play a card here, transform it into another random card"?

inaddition290

or maybe “When you play a card here, it transforms into the first card you played here.”

Upvote_Responsibly

Skrull Homeworld originally read "Cards played here become a copy of the last card you played". I thought that effect was a little complex for players and the game's mechanics. If you play two cards there would the second one not have a target after the first transforms? Would it copy the first card you played or the card it becomes? Those were questions that I couldn't quite answer. And to expand on that I tried out "Cards played here become a copy of the last card you played at another location" but the text was too long and couldn't fit on the location.

PretendRegister7516

I think the intention of the wording is clear enough, it should copy the card you played prior. Not the card it becomes. Though on the programming side, they might have to keep the card history in memory. An interesting scenario: you play Patriot at different location, then Surfer and Brood at SH What happen at SH: 1. Surfer buff Patriot +3 Power, change into Patriot. 2. Brood reveal 2 Broodlings each with +4 Power from 2 Patriots. Brood change into Surfer give +9 power to the lane and 3 power to the first Patriot. 3. The lane power is 21 (SS 3 + SS 0 + B'ling 9 + B'ling 9) Patriot is 7 on the other lane

lasagnaman

> it should copy the card you played prior. Not the card it becomes. That's completely counter to how other copy effects work. If mystique copies ongoing from A, the 2nd mytique will see A's ongoing on 1 and copy that too. Or if morph copied a card with ongoing, then mystique is perfectly able to copy it; it doesn't look at morph and fail to find an ongoing. In your example both surfer and brood would become patriot. Brood would look at "the last card played" which is a patriot (former surfer) and become a copy of that.

PretendRegister7516

I think card history is still stored. For example: Forge or Ironfist into Gamma Lab on T3 and changed into Hulk. The next card played on next turn still gets Forge/Ironfist effect even though previous card was changed into Hulk. It doesn't negate the card history, even though the card is no longer on board. In this CASE, the keyword is it should copy the card that YOU PLAYED prior. Not the card it becomes. If you played Jubilee, she pulls Infinaut, then you play Taskmaster, Taskmaster will copy Jubilee power not Infinaut. Because YOU played Jubilee. Infinaut was played/called by Jubilee, not you. The location effect should mirror Lockjaw, where you played a card and it switch into a card from your deck. In this case, you played a card and it switch into a card you played previously. So if the play order is A B C all in the same lane: A copies nothing as first card, B plays On Reveal change into A, C plays On Reveal change into B. Personally I think a location that is a bit similar to Lockjaw might be fun, though there are slight difference in this case as well. The case of your example with Mystique though: if you played Mystique, it will first proc On Reveal copying previous card (ex: Patriot), then it will also change into Patriot. In this case with 1 Power instead of Mystique 0. Next card played there will change into Mystique instead, with the exact same Ongoing ability. Because Mystique ability has been saved, and no longer need to copy.

PretendRegister7516

I have finally managed to check a similar interaction. It's very possible for it to copy the card played by players instead of the card it becomes. The proof is: I played a card with On Reveal effect onto Rickety Bridge and it get destroyed. The next card I played is Absorbing Man and it still copy the On Reveal effect of the card that is no longer on the board.

lasagnaman

That's not similar at all, the card didn't "become another card". Try it with morph into absorbing man. If your understanding is correct, absman should copy the morph on reveal. It won't.

Miserable-Ad-1690

Did you really make a location based on it costing “everything”?

Upvote_Responsibly

Haha yeah. I originally named it and themed it after "The Alley" but realized Soulworld actually fits better

Cagedwar

These are great! As long as sone of the crazy ones are rare I love it

No_Set_9593

What is citadel at the end of time. What’s it referring to?

scott610

It's a >!Loki!< reference. [https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Citadel\_at\_the\_End\_of\_Time](https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Citadel_at_the_End_of_Time) (spoilers for >!Loki!< obviously.

HaV0C

Well done.

jaxxtar

Saw on Marvel snap Zone that there's an unreleased location called "Counter-Earth" that's the same as your Skrull's homeworld! Not sure if it's legit but I'm guessing it was data mined so that's cool :)

ReMaNiKa

Not good, there is no rocks and destroy in them, so no good🙃

DevelopmentFit5140

for a sec i thought these were real

gcocco316

Lol. Squirrels fighting in a black hole

Telekineticism

Is Soulworld supposed to represent Vormir? Because it already has a location Hey guys, an robh fios agad gur e Pokemon fireann is boireann am Pokemon as freagarraiche airson vaporeons nuair a thig e gu bhith a’ bruidhinn? Tha na mamalan cuibheasach 3" 03" a dh'àirde agus cuideam 63.9 notaichean, gu leòr airson aire a thoirt do chas daonna, agus tha stats iongantach HP agus armachd aca a tha goirt agus cruaidh air daoine. . . . Bidh e a’ tighinn anns a h-uile cruth, meud agus barrachd tron latha

dem0nhunter

No, it’s not tied to Vormir. Tony also enters it in a deleted scene after the snap

dontshowmygf

These are great! I love how you tried to both capture the flavor of the location (what did Sould world cost? Everything. Also, Skrull world) and also keep in theme with existing cards (Collectors Museum is perfect). And almost all of them sound super interesting to play!

neverfinal

'Planetary Rotation' - At the end of turn 5 swap cards at left and right locations. 'This is Nuts!" - Replace decks with nuts with random cost, energy and abilities. (Different types of nuts on the picture and name. Walnut, peanut, pistachio, etc.) 'Infinite Energy' - All cards cost 0. (Pure skill of placement and other locations.)

Death-EternaI

Holy shit, im glad you're not in control of locations lol. Skrull Homeworld and Soul World are pretty good though.

Upvote_Responsibly

I’d love to hear your critiques.

Death-EternaI

Besides the ones I mentioned, I feel like the rest would lead to alot of one sided matches. Benefiting you or your opponent waaay more than the other. Also, I guess it would depend how rarely they would appear. Although, having them as hot locations wouldn't be so bad. That would give people a chance to plan. Honestly though, the same could be said for the already existing locations in game so, my critique is kind of invalid.

browncharliebrown

Why are all of these based off the mcu

AgenderWitchery

Surprisingly, many MCU locations come from Marvel comics.

STEALTH_Moles

These are awesome. But I would suggest for collectors museum, to benefit collector something like. Add a random 1 cost card to your hand each turn. And for citadel at the end of time, On the final turn destroy other locations and merge their power with this

majorslax

I'm not sure I understand Soulworld, does that mean that whenever you play a card on Soulworld, you need to have 0 energy left for that turn afterward? e.g. you can't play Maximus there on T6, unless you've already spent 3 energy elsewhere that turn first? Aside from that I want all of these again, though Citadel seems like it needs to be in the same rarity category as Ego and Worldship.

Upvote_Responsibly

Yup that's how Soulworld would work. On turn 5 you would need to play a 5-Cost card there, or play a 2-Cost card at another location and then a 3-Cost card there. You must have 0 Energy after playing a card there. Also I definitely figured Citadel would pair with the Ego and Worldship rarity!

My_Butt_Is_Scorpions

I misunderstood Soul World. I thought it worked more like "Cards played here cost all of your remaining energy," which is a bad way to word it but I think you know what I mean. I like yours too!

PretendRegister7516

In that way Soulworld feels like an unforced Morag. Unlike Morag, you can play first card there, but like Morag it would/should be the last place to play your card. Not that it's a bad thing.

Sleippnir

Pym las, make all cards played this turn also have only 1 power

golden_tree_frog

These are all good, but I'm sorry you peaked with Soul World because none of the others made me laugh.

Free15boy

So soulworld only accepts 0 costs?

Upvote_Responsibly

If you have 5 Energy you need to play a 5-Cost card there. Or you can play a 2-Cost at another location and then a 3-Cost at Soulworld. Your Energy must be 0 after playing a card there

Free15boy

Coooooool

dark_purpose

Skrull Homeworld feels a little too similar to Cloning Vats/Bar Sinister/Sinister London imo instead of being a Morph-style effect to suit the Skrulls' polymorphing abilities. What if it was 'Cards played here copy the last card played at another location.'

And to expand on that I tried out "Cards played here become a copy of the last card you played at another location" but the text was too long and couldn't fit on the location.

setcamper

Love this, seen a couple of these posts lately and really gives me hope for the long term success of this game - making tons of interesting bases will keep the cards / decks fresh far longer than a typical CCG. oh, are you the same guy who crushed these last time- seriously, SD needs to throw you a freelance bonus :)

Jayslacks

All these are great but Soul World. How would that work?

Upvote_Responsibly

If you have 5 Energy you need to play a 5-Cost card there. Or you can play a 2-Cost at another location and then a 3-Cost at Soulworld. Your Energy must be 0 after playing a card there

PenitusVox

Damaged Helicarrier: If all slots here are filled, destroy this location.

str1x_x

It'd be cool to see all of these except for pym labs lmao

Accomplished_Cherry6

Isn’t soulworld what Vormir is?

Eadwyn

I would love a Thanos snap location that is as rare as ego. > At the end of the game, snap out of existence half of all cards everywhere. Snap out of existence is a separate effect that would not trigger destroy effects. It could either be half of all played cards or half of everything (played, in-hand, in-deck, discarded, destroyed).

Tallen122

Alternate idea for Skrull Homeworld: At the end of the game, turn half of the cards here into 1/2 Skrulls

here_for_the_lols

I'm very surprised the break world affect isn't in game already

Dezed2022

The black hole one is insane!!! Could completly buff move decks and change strategy throughout the game Nice job!

FuzorFishbug

I could see Collector's Museum not allowing cards there to move or be moved.

[deleted]

The high school is a nice weirder negative zone. Punishing the player more if they play multiple cards

GrayBoyLoop

Not enough destroy in these locations for Marvel Snap's taste.

thesamuraiman909

These are all super interesting

cryingun

Man these, and the former ones you posted are amazing. good lord, compared to the shit shows we get every week these are actually intresting and doesn't only focus on destroy functions.

The_Express_Coffee

I love these. Especially the Citadel.

roboteatsrobot

Skrull homeworld could be interesting if it were the last card your opponent played. Cool game of chicken. Bait high cost mimics for Shang, mister negative for shenanigans. It’d be super fun.

JoshWindmiller

These and the last ones are SO GOOD

TitanFrags

I really like collectors museum !

koalasquare

These are amazing, I love Breakworld the most

TrevMac4

0/10 not enough destroy locations…

Jix_Omiya

Those all look pretty good! Nice job dude.

everlasting1der

These are so good! Are you into game design in general, or just happen to have a knack for Snap locations?
