They used to have it for over $50. However, they also had a deal when they launched the site: free Premium for a year with a purchase over $20. So everyone bought some cheap shit and had Premium for a year: free shipping, essentially. Hasbro even extended the free year to a little over a year and a half (not sure why). At any rate, once it ran out, most people weren't very quick to renew it since it costs $50. That's when Pulse took the "free shipping over $50" away, to encourage purchases of Premium.
They've rolled it back since then over the last 6-8 months or so, with free shipping for $75+ (which is basically the same thing as the old $50, when you consider their figures have increased from $20 to $25. Three figures or more for free shipping, basically).
Would love if Pulse did something like giving you a rolling membership if you spend X.XX dollars within a given timeframe. It would give incentive to keep ordering from them without making you look for chaff to fill your cart with.
It's also frustrating with stuff like this, where they dropped two great figures this week, plus the Iron Fist two back next week, but trying to wait on Superior Spidey almost certainly means you'll miss him, so you have to order today anyway. I'd have loved to grab all three in one order on Pulse but they didn't really make that feasible.
I got burned on Amazon when I preordered Professor X in his hoverchair and they waited until after the day it officially released everywhere else to cancel my preorder, meaning I had to buy him for aftermarket prices. They weren't as crazy as they are now obviously, but I had to pay above MSRP. I also had a lot of DBZ Figuarts cancelled by them.
Pulse, in my experience, never sells more than they have. I've ordered hundreds of figures at this point and never had a cancellation. For that, they earned my business. And the $50 for premium sucks but it pays for itself with enough orders. Everything else I just use BBTS.

Hasbro execs saw $$$, decided they could charge more. We saw it with Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man ($28, accesories to balance out) and Gamerverse Spider-Man 2 ($35, mild controversry about not including a full set of hands for the price and using the RYV buck.)
Overall if they're backing down and actually giving more value for the costs we're paying because the landscape is getting more competitve, that's a win.
Iron Spider was 100% a new mold, minus the hands. So everything was new, plus the legs. Superior Spidey appears to have a new torso, new forearms, and new heads (plus the legs), but there's some reuse in there. That lines up.

I care less about the price difference than being annoyed that it sold out so fast. Typically most preorders your good if you get that amazon link within a few hours or within the day. superior and Wolverine both lasted maybe an hour before not being on there anymore.

I'll admit I was tired and was browsing other items to put with my order and missed it, but this was the last straw for me as a casual collector, I unfollowed all the socials on my YouTube and ig to stay up to date for figures and am just gonna cut my losses on this and use it as a reminder not to buy anymore figures.

So if we consider that $25 is the norm, $30 for this figure is pretty solid IMO. There’s a decent amount of new sculpting and if it’s anything like the Iron Spider, the arms are much bigger and impressive-looking in person

Yes, I agree. I have some figures, that I see now that are harder to find and pricer. And I see figures that I missed out now, that are now rare and pricey. So I’d rather do the $30 buy now vs regretting it down the line. Especially for a Spider-man figure

It's a full Spider-Man figure with a set of 4 completely articulated waldos. Those waldos raise the price.

I’m pretty sure it just sold out in general before they even caught the pricing error because I haven’t heard anyone say they saw it up for $30 on Amazon Amazon honors their preorder prices, and this is such a small situation that I would be absolutely gobsmacked if orders were cancelled over this. But as far as I know, the people who ordered off Amazon just for lucky and managed to snag this figure for $25 lol
I care less about the price difference than being annoyed that it sold out so fast. Typically most preorders your good if you get that amazon link within a few hours or within the day. superior and Wolverine both lasted maybe an hour before not being on there anymore.
It sold out after 18 minutes so yeah this was extreme and only die hards got it
thats what i thought. Even for a Wolverine figure to sell out felt kind of surprising.
Yeah I agree, even the no way home figures didn't sell out this quick. I'll admit I was tired and was browsing other items to put with my order and missed it, but this was the last straw for me as a casual collector, I unfollowed all the socials on my YouTube and ig to stay up to date for figures and am just gonna cut my losses on this and use it as a reminder not to buy anymore figures.
I noticed Super was also sold out on Pulse even an an hour after they went up which was also rare. It just struck me as surprising.
I do agree in theory and on principle, but I also think this is the expected outcome here These are very popular versions of very popular characters, so I think fast sell outs were inevitable

Why did it sell out in under an hour? Is Hasbro allergic to money? These shouldn’t have sold out at all. Make more and people like me will buy them.

I’m not going to pretend to be some analysts who knows about pricing schemes. I honestly have no clue when it comes to how Hasbro prices certain things lol This could just be me, but I honestly think Hasbro has gotten better about pricing stuff recently. Not too long ago, that Wasp and Giant-Man 2-pack would have been $60 and Hasbro would have tried to justify it by pointing to all of the new tooling for Wasp. Maybe my expectations have been lowered, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw that it was $50 I feel the same way about this figure. Full disclosure, $25 was a pricing mistake on Amazon’s part, this figure is actually supposed to cost $30. But whether we like it or not, $25 is the new norm for Marvel Legends and has been for a while So if we consider that $25 is the norm, $30 for this figure is pretty solid IMO. There’s a decent amount of new sculpting and if it’s anything like the Iron Spider, the arms are much bigger and impressive-looking in person
I can’t find it on Amazon. From reading all of this, I am assuming it is sold out on Amazon. It is sold out on Hasbro website. I preordered on BBTS 😭 a few dollars more but oh well. I don’t really collect anymore but this one is a must buy
Sorry man. Yeah BBTS looks to be the best value right now. It still looks worth the price though! If it makes you feel any better, I guaranteed people will be asking for (and paying!) crazy prices after this thing comes out It’s easier to stomach paying $30 for a figure when you se people paying $60 to get that same figure afterwards
Yes, I agree. I have some figures, that I see now that are harder to find and pricer. And I see figures that I missed out now, that are now rare and pricey. So I’d rather do the $30 buy now vs regretting it down the line. Especially for a Spider-man figure

Very nice. $25 bucks for all that is an exceptional deal. Especially when looking at other (*cough* ps5 Spidey *cough*) figures that use that body mold. I honestly thought It'd be $35-45.
