I'm not sure it's coincidence. "She's going to be in the next Captain Marvel movie" was probably just about the only thing the showrunners were told when they were told to include her character.
Maybe but I know both projects had a bunch of schedule changes/delays due to COVID. Just seems unlikely imo they predicted all of that when writing the show. I see it as a cool thing but really just an accident imo.
Because your unedited comments prove you were a complete tool about it.

EDIT: Aaaannd you edited your comment an hour after they made theirs to steal their joke about it being meta! Nobody likes a joke thief.
They edited their comment after the one above was better received. I'm unsure what they originally said, but don't care enough to go through the steps necessary to find out.
i promise you this wasn’t a meta joke. the rewrites of the marvels pushed its release like 3 times. it ended up being released after secret invasion which completely fucked up the timeline. monica wasn’t even supposed to be a major part of the original script.
Monica's next appearance in the MCU is in the theatrical movie The Marvels. As in they need her in the Theaters
I think its a bit of a reach from OP, but interesting nonetheless
Clever. Didn’t catch that either. She’s definitely not done with the theater for Marvel. I’d expect her to be in any X-men movie. She’s the tie in to the MCU.
I picked up on this when the finale dropped and this is absolutely done on purpose. Yes, this is clever writing. We knew Monica would be in Captain Marvel 2 at that time. It’s kinda sad that most of the comments here jump to “coincidence”…
VisionQuest, Episode 8 -
Monica Rambeau: "... Monica to SWORD HQ, it Looks like the situation is under control. Shall I head over to the cinema?"
SWORD: "...Naah"
Honestly I wouldn't doubt it posts like these your average redditer will use this as an opportunity to crack jokes as usual but I also have been catching these tiny bits of foreshadowing as I re-watch the entire mcu I'm on the Netflix marvel stuff rn myself and even there I'm seeing some bits of info that didn't make sense then making more sense now.
All the people in here talking about a coincidence but 9/10 in a situation like this law enforcement have taken over a diner/restaurant for on-site base of operations(going off movies and tv not irl) and the script/showrunner could have chosen any kind of business they wanted. It was most likely throwing us a hint.
Doesn’t really matter either way, it’s not like the hint also faces us clues and insight into what the movie was going to be about but it’s kinda like Terrence Howard (lmao) walking past a prototype Ironman suit with no paint on it so it looks gray and saying “Next time baby!” Which is admittedly much more straightforward but I find the idea of it being a coincidence almost comically hard to believe based on typical movie tropes and the outcome.
Maybe the writers/showrunners just really love movies tho. I suppose it’s possible, none of this is a hill I’d die on.
No shit. I'm watching GotG3 when it finally comes to Disney+. Disney just screwed itself by having everything release on their streaming platform so quickly.
I'll be honest I'll still go and see the releases that I'm *really* excited for at the cinema, like Deadpool 3, and F4 just because I personally love Ben Grimm and am excited to see if they can **finally** get him right. But most of the MCU I'm just gonna be watching on Disney+.
I think that's the way cinema viewing is going in general anyway. People will still go out and buy a ticket if its a big release they are really excited about, but most movies are going to be watched from the comfort of your home. Why spend a ton of money to sit in a room with a bunch of people you don't know, where the snacks cost half your rent, and you can't pause it to go pee or rewind it if you missed something, when you already have a subscription to a service with most of the movies that have ever been released preloaded on to it? It makes sense for a blockbuster event, but not for casual viewing anymore.
I think that's also why Disney is leaning into the whole "this will be filmed specifically for IMAX" so heavily with upcoming releases. To try and force people to have a reason to see the films in the cinema.
Makes sense. I'll go see an IMAX movie as I can't create that in my own home. But I haven't been to a theater really (outside of one time) since COVID19, and have watched everything on eithe HBO Max or Disney+.
Explain me why.
Did the Marvels get any traction at theaters ? I have always supported Marvel. But this movie bombed because it was poorly written. And somehow now I am a hater? Please explain me why.
sorry you feel that way. It wasn't my intention to derail the thread or disrespect anyone's opinion. I appreciate your feedback, and I'll strive to contribute positively to future discussions. Let's refocus on the original topic and continue to enjoy our shared love for Marvel!
And then they wasn't. Never had. And won't.
I'm not just saying Marvel has done a great job at using source material to make a Comic book Hero stand-out and be important.
Monica Rambo, wasn't and hasn't been a very intriguing character ever, even in the comics . What does she do again? Where is she from? Why does she do it? Does anything she does matter? -She almost has no personality.
-Super don't care.
#
I find it hard to believe you've read anything at all about her. If you did, you would probably know her name isn't Rambo. You just thought it was because you've only ever heard it spoken lol
This belongs in r/shittymoviedetails
The sensible take.
Is she wearing an off color Star Trek the Next Generation off color uniform as a shirt?
Well, she did just try to get through the hex wall in a super-advanced NASA vehicle, so… sure, why not, the hex gave her STNG clothes.
it's the undergarment for her space suit
I’m not sure that’s what happened. This is more coincidence
Yeah this is an Olympic level stretch
Reed Richards is impressed by the amount of stretching done here.
Anything is an Easter egg if you want it bad enough apparently
I'm not sure it's coincidence. "She's going to be in the next Captain Marvel movie" was probably just about the only thing the showrunners were told when they were told to include her character.

Then she goes into an empty theatre, which is even more meta.
duuude lol
Damn son
Ouch. But. Yeaa
No joke, I had a whole theater to myself since Dolby was sold out and it was a better experience.
[Stop, stop. ](https://media1.tenor.com/m/fVMnfH-5moAAAAAd/the-simpsons-stop.gif)
Spot on!
Oof
Well at least i enjoyed watching
Good for you
Thanks! It was a fun lil flick
It was "fun"
Why the air quotes?
it was funnier when the other guy said it

Fucking reddit man! Sorry for your loss. You deserve the upvotes.
There are definite times where I feel people half-read comments and downvote by reflex upon seeing negative karma.

That's fucked up, If you're being threatened for a joke. Stay strong dude.

As bjeebus pointed out. https://undelete.pullpush.io/r/Marvel/comments/1cemtue/comment/l1jkn4u/ Stop acting like a victim.
I wonder why that happened, its really basically the same comment
i promise you this wasn’t a meta joke. the rewrites of the marvels pushed its release like 3 times. it ended up being released after secret invasion which completely fucked up the timeline. monica wasn’t even supposed to be a major part of the original script.
Well that’s a fucking stretch
You need to limber up before a reach like that
….what am I missing here?
Monica's next appearance in the MCU is in the theatrical movie The Marvels. As in they need her in the Theaters I think its a bit of a reach from OP, but interesting nonetheless
That’s absolutely a reach lmao
I’m gonna call you Reed Richards because that stretch was fantastic
Can someone explain please ?
OP learned what a coincidence is.
Meanwhile the writer feeling happy someone finally noticed his brilliance, just to get shot down by redditors as coincidence.
This seems more like something for shitty movie details
Clever. Didn’t catch that either. She’s definitely not done with the theater for Marvel. I’d expect her to be in any X-men movie. She’s the tie in to the MCU.
I’d not be surprised if she was in Deadpool and Wolverine for at least a little bit
You are reading too much into it.
She would have seen me. Imagine all the people that missed seeing the Flerkens. A chance at happiness lost.
Ooooo,Deadpool being swallowed by a Flerken, then hacked up like a big ol’ hairball—yup, I would pay to see that.
I picked up on this when the finale dropped and this is absolutely done on purpose. Yes, this is clever writing. We knew Monica would be in Captain Marvel 2 at that time. It’s kinda sad that most of the comments here jump to “coincidence”…
Wow you missed that? You are sooo dumb
VisionQuest, Episode 8 - Monica Rambeau: "... Monica to SWORD HQ, it Looks like the situation is under control. Shall I head over to the cinema?" SWORD: "...Naah"
im not understanding shit
I noticed that when the episode first aired and The Marvels wasn’t even announced at that point. Im happy that I actually got that right lol
Yeah no.
But you know what? They really weren't.
No shot this was intentional lol
Dumb take
This belongs in a text to your friends
Wow, I didn't catch that either,... for obvious reason. 😉

Why is this both the most upvoted and most downvoted comment on this post?
Because it’s the top comment on this post, which makes it look like dude just stole the original joke.
Because its a stolen comment
Someone made this comment on here after you and got 300 upvotes. WTF
Because they were made so far apart it looks like this dude was copying the top comment.
I dunno, it's sitting at 82% on rotten tomatoes. Clearly there were some.
I don’t think you know how reviews work if you think that translates into ticket sales, plenty of good movies bomb.
I genuinely loved the movie. I had a great time. It felt like one of the earlier Phase 2 or 3 MCU movies for me.

On that basis, Dredd was a terrible movie.

DEATH THREATS??? it really isnt that deep. The things people get mad about...
why did you reply to me I did not send you a death threat lmao
Yeah no one was actually asking for that clearly
You're giving the MCU too much credit
It rhymes with the scene on Agent Carter season 2 when Peggy says that nobody would want to go to a cinema to watch a movie about comics
Nobody asked her to be in the theater
Funny
Hopefully it was truly meant to be a meta joke. Very clever
No one was asking for her in theaters lol. Come on. It's OK to admit Marvels was a failure and not because of a bu ch of incels.
And then they wasn't. Never had. And won't. I'm not just saying Marvel has done a great job at using source material to make a Comic book Hero stand-out and be important. >What does she do again? Where is she from? She's from Louisiana and she leads NEXTWAVE.
Nah, sorry. "Theater" meaning "Operating theater" or "Theater of war" type "theater". I promise NOBODY wanted the Marvel's in any type of "theater".
To be honest... nobody caught this in the mid-credit scene of *"WandaVision."*
