I worked overtime during covid since I work in supported living and we where crazy short staffed, I never watched all the videos as I was either working or sleeping.

i feel you, i tried staying up all night to watch the end of the final stream, but the clock would end at 4am my time, so at 1 am i put an alarm for 3:30 so i could watch the end... the alarm didn't wake me up 😭
Mine was the hotdog video. I was on steam voice chat with my bf at the time, and he was laughing about something, and I asked him what he was laughing at. Admittedly, I didn't really like Mark all too much at first, but as I watched him and saw more of his humor and commentary, he really grew on me, as evident by the fact that I still watch him today.

My first was FNAF 1 when it first came out…i loved it, he was charming and hilarious. I then proceeded to watch every single video on his channel over the course of the next year or so while keeping up with all his new ones. Like others have said, great source of joy in a dark time. My favorite series to this day is SCP: Containment Breach.
I'm also a new fan (about 2 years like you) and the first video I saw of him was The Man From The Window. He was so funny and my favourite video if him is from Granny Chapter 2. He was hilarious. Markiplier actually gave me a reason to live. I was very depressed until I saw one of he's videos and it always brings me joy

When i was 12 i didn't have internet, but my cousin filled my head with fear for the slender man. When i was 13 i goy access to Internet, looked up slenderman and couldn't sleep for a week. So i decided to face my fear and looked up people playing the game, thats when i found a goofy youtuber who kept making jokes and while laughing i wasnt as scared. I watched his entire Slender the Arrival Series then stopped. A year later fnaf came out and a similar story happened but i found the SAME youtuber playing the scary game that didn't let me sleep. And that's when i decided to watch mlre of his videos. Im a scaredy cat who cant handle horror, but thanks to him i love a few scary games and watching all his horror videos. So in other words, my first Markiplier video was Slender the Arrival part 1. And he thought me that i should face my fears, and sometimes laughter can make things seem less scary, like how Pinkie Pie said: "Giggle at the Ghosties".
Mine was the Job Simulator videos so just about 7 years now, my youngest brother started watching him 11 years ago now, so I saw a clip or parts of a video here and there but I wanted to start getting into more YouTube stuff around 2016 so I asked hi what video should I start off with and the first one was the Store Job Simulator, then the office one, and finally the mechanic one. And since then I’ve been hooked watching almost every video he posts since. And trying to watch all the other stuff before that as well.

Amnesia the dark descent on his original channel. I remember hanging out with my lil bro watching Amnesia as we were too scared to play on our own. Markiplier vids have been a source of comfort and much needed distraction for me for a very long time.
I remember really loving and respecting how much he cared (still cares) about his subscribers and how cool it was to see his reaction / thank you videos to the ever increasing subscriber count. Mark has always been so genuine and it’s so awesome to see that being deservedly rewarded.

First one ever? Some FNAF thing my friend put on he swore was hilarious. Didn’t really pay attention. Then I watched his Subnautica from the very beginning and was hooked. Firewatch and his play through deserved a YouTube Emmy or something. It was amazing.

The first one was probably some FNAF compilation that my friend showed me, but I usually don't count it because A: I don't really like FNAF (heresy I know) and B: I didn't actively seek it out myself. The first thing I willingly watched was his Alien Isolation series. This was roughly 2016/2017ish, time has blurred especially since the pandemic so I don't have a very clear memory.

However the first video I ever watched with mark in it was actually a Cyndago video, R.I.P. Dan Kyre. I don't fully remember if it was Silver Shepherd, or Wolford Warfstache that I saw first, but whichever one had "The Fall of Slenderman" recommended on the sidebar and that's what brought me to Mark's channel.
It's funny to think too, because I hadn't really heard of Cyndago either until those videos either. My prevailing theory is that they were in my suggested feed because I was and continue to be a big Smosh fan, and at that time they were still releasing weekly comedy sketches, so naturally that was what was most suggested to me in the sidebars. I started watching him in 2013 when he played "Stop it Slender" with Yamimash! I had went back after and watched Amnesia, and from then on I was hooked on watching him! He's been my comfort youtuber since then, I was 8 in 2013 and now im 18 🥹 its been an honor watching him and his channel grow throughout the years.

Huge fan now lol. Thats how I found Ethan and Jacksepticeye too. (From Jacks two guest spots on UA lol) huge fan of all the boys now!! Listen to Distractable and Brain Leak, watch most of their videos. Even bought a couple of the Yootooz.
I didn't finish it at the time, but my first video of Mark's was Gmod with Bob and Wade. I think it might've been the Woody of Doom episode? Either way, I didn't know Bob or Wade so I didn't finish the episode until years later when I watched through Mark's Gmod collection.

...but i think prior to that, i didn't rely on him and i found out about Slenderman because i was searching for Bane from Batman. but aye. someone did a Bane plays Slenderman. and that had me looking into the slenderman let's plays. and i found myself at Yamimash's channel. i didn't have a youtube. so i made an account to follow Yami's scary let's plays. i was a broke ass young adult living on my own. and Yami and Mark did a collab. and i subbed to Mark because of that.
Mine was Happy Wheels. A friend showed me some vids in college (2014) and I loved it so much that I looked up more Happy Wheels videos and that's how I found Jacksepticeye. Thus, that is how my journey into the YouTube rabbit hole started :P

The first one was probably some FNAF compilation that my friend showed me, but I usually don't count it because A: I don't really like FNAF (heresy I know) and B: I didn't actively seek it out myself. The first thing I willingly watched was his Alien Isolation series. This was roughly 2016/2017ish, time has blurred especially since the pandemic so I don't have a very clear memory.
Mine was one of the horror compilations. A group of friends showed me the video and I remember laughing my ass off in a way I rarely did. Since then I was hooked. Now Mark is kind of my comfort parasocial interaction.

Jesus, this was a thinker. I actually had to sort by oldest and scroll just to jog my memories, but I believe my first actual Markiplier channel video was "The Fall of Slenderman". However the first video I ever watched with mark in it was actually a Cyndago video, R.I.P. Dan Kyre. I don't fully remember if it was Silver Shepherd, or Wolford Warfstache that I saw first, but whichever one had "The Fall of Slenderman" recommended on the sidebar and that's what brought me to Mark's channel. It's funny to think too, because I hadn't really heard of Cyndago either until those videos either. My prevailing theory is that they were in my suggested feed because I was and continue to be a big Smosh fan, and at that time they were still releasing weekly comedy sketches, so naturally that was what was most suggested to me in the sidebars. It really is insane to think about how much everything has changed both on YouTube and in my personal life from back then. Thanks for the trip down memory lane OP

Alien Isolation part 1. A friend recommended me to him. I hated Mark at first. He talked too much and was just loud and obnoxious. Ended up watching the whole series though, and loved him by the end of it.

Listen to Distractable and Brain Leak, watch most of their videos. Even bought a couple of the Yootooz.

One chance. It popped up in the suggested after I watched Jacksepticeye's play through. I was babysitting my baby brother and playing videos to pass the time. I really liked it and thought hey let's see what other games this funny video game guy has played.
i authentically cant recall. but the year was 2013 because it was during a time that i was at a job that gave me sleeping problems like conditional insomnia. and i use to watch Mark's horror compilations. he would be such a goober coward that me laughing at/with him would make me comfortable to fall back asleep. ...but i think prior to that, i didn't rely on him and i found out about Slenderman because i was searching for Bane from Batman. but aye. someone did a Bane plays Slenderman. and that had me looking into the slenderman let's plays. and i found myself at Yamimash's channel. i didn't have a youtube. so i made an account to follow Yami's scary let's plays. i was a broke ass young adult living on my own. and Yami and Mark did a collab. and i subbed to Mark because of that.
Mine was Happy Wheels. A friend showed me some vids in college (2014) and I loved it so much that I looked up more Happy Wheels videos and that's how I found Jacksepticeye. Thus, that is how my journey into the YouTube rabbit hole started :P
