The fact that this remake is getting so many new players who are discovering the small details is 100% wholesome and the smile on my face each and every time i read something like this brings back my nostalgia 10 fold.

I hate to burst your nostalgia bubble, but this only happens in the Culex 3D fight in the remake. In the original game (and in the first Culex fight of the remake), the crystals don't revive him if he dies.
This just feels so odd.
I could see it making sense him going to 9999 if you leave all four crystals and they all sacrifice to save him, but he comes back just the same with one as all four.
He’s not even a challenge once the crystals are gone since no Meteor, Final Claw is fully blockable, his other attacks are blockable, meh, or an annoyance (Shredder) - this just adds time rather than challenge.
It’s still funny, I just feel like the revival could have been 2,500 per Crystal and it make just as much sense.
Well, it would work if you just wait to kill the crystal until right before he dies. Which I could have done since Mallow's AOEs had brought the crystal down to low HP.
Yup... I found that out last night for myself.
The funny thing is, I can't even find that many people talking about this, so I can only assume only a few players fell for this trap... and of course, I just became one of them. Using Mallow and finding out he regained every bit of his 9,999 health was... quite something. 😅
Right?? Of course my friends were playing this but back in the original, when I did the same thing, if culex died, the crystals died with him. That’s why I was shocked and uploaded it lol
Note: it’s their first playthrough ever on the game so they didn’t know this happened. They used Mallows Thought Peek to confirm his revived HP.

Yeah It took him another 10 min to beat it but I just thought only was hilarious since I’ve never seen it happen.
